A horrible experience with Jim Reckers! I've been watching a Cincinnati commercial building on Goodman Ave for awhile. My partner and I decided to make contact and ask some questions and set up a viewing. Jim was very slow to respond and then just totally ignored the last email. So, I called. It didn't take long to see that he was more interested in selling, which is understandable, instead of leasing... thus the reason for the slow responses to email and then being ignored. During the phone conversation instead of learning anything about me or my businesses it was a forceful sales pitch to buy the building. Against my better judgement, I set up an appointment to look at the building. Once again, even though I made it clear I was interested in leasing, he once again brought up selling it. Furthermore, he made the announcement that the City of Cincinnati was interested in the building so I had some very tough competition with loads of money. I was polite, even though I wanted to curse him out, because I liked the property. I was going to lease it, see how it went and then buy. Well, he gave us an intent to lease form to fill out which we did and emailed. Several days late we get a condescending response: "SunnyI have four showings over the last few days.I am expecting an offer from a qualified, experienced, Cincinnati company. In the interim, please see the Intent to lease below."First of all... Sunny! That is not my name or my partners! My partner who has been emailing is 29 years old, so I guess he felt he was okay with this. I'm 55!Anyway, 4 showings in the last few days! After the property sitting for so long... yeah right. A QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED... wow, so he is saying that we are on the back burner because we are not qualified or experienced! First of all, I've been in management for over 30 years, and one of my businesses has been in service for 14 years! My partners company has been in business for 9 years! Multiple businesses were going into that location... but he assumes we aren't qualified or experienced! Maybe if he would quit looking down his nose at individuals interested in leasing instead of buying, he would have found out that we are probably more qualified and experienced then the company that he put in front of us...which looked at the building AFTER we did! Once again, I understand wanting to sell instead of lease...however, don't bullsh*t someone and NEVER condescend or make assumptions! Avoid this company if you are looking to lease! And avoid Jim for ANY reason!
