Elm Grove Subs

Great sub shop in Wheeling, WV. A nice list to choose from. I got the BBQ cheeseburger sub. Fresh hoagie roll, not toasted, good portion of juicy burger, on a half 8"sub. Cheddar Cheese, onion straws, lettuce, tomato, and bbq sauce. A good BBQ cheeseburger on a hoagie roll. A good tangy BBQ sauce. A side of onion straws, nice and crunchy.

OK first of all I need to say that I'm a big fan of Philly steak sandwiches. I can remember my first one in 1971 at West liberty campus in the college hall.since then over the last 50 years I have looked for the best steak sandwiches, and unfortunately this is not one of them. (The best one by the way is down at the Outer Banks.- The Bluemoon café)when I walked in, there were three people in there running the place, all teens. One of the cooks didn't wear a mask, and the other ones were, I think afraid to enforce the mask rule. Not a big deal for me - I've been Vaccinated - but it shows that no one's in charge. The taste of the Philly steak sandwich was rather bland. It wasn't really high-quality steak just flank steak and rather tasteless at that. if you like bread there's a lot in the sandwich but not much seasoning. The wait was about 15 to 20 minutes so If you decide to order subs from this place I suggest you call them in or use the web page.I try to support local restaurants, but I don't think I'll be going back to this one - at least not for a Philly steak sandwich

These are some of the best subs around the Valley. A half sub was big enough for two meals. Good quality for a good price.

This quaint shop is the perfect road trip reprieve. Massive portions for the price, everything is super fresh and high quality. Dog friendly, staff and owners are all incredibly kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning whenever we pass through.

Delicious food every time! Staff is super friendly. Great for on-the-go eating...much healthier than greasy fast food "restaurants"!

Only 4 stars simply because it's a sandwich place with counter service but hey this was the best! Tucked into a strip mall it was a bit difficult to locate but well worth our search. Clean friendly atmosphere. I had the "regular" half sized Philly cheesesteak sandwich and my husband had the build it yourself version. Note that a half size was huge and my husband's even more so stuffed with his extra goodies. The beef in my sandwich was tender with a nice sweetness to the cheese and onions. Husband had his with gyro meat, lettuce, tomatoes taziki sauce etc and also enjoyed it. Get a fork and extra napkins!

It's decent. Not amazing but not bad either! About average overall. Food is decent and atmosphere is the same.

If you like cheesesteak subs this is your place. I have no idea what the rest of their food is like but their cheesesteak sub is, by far, the best in the Ohio Valley. The steak itself is top notch, not gristly and fatty like so many in the area. The whole sub is huge - seriously you'll likely need help and I'm no slouch in that area. I'd put this cheesesteak up against anything Philly or South Jersey has to offer. It's that good.
