El Azteca

I lived in Wapakoneta for two years, and my husband grew up there. This place sets the benchmark for Mexican food in my opinion. It's relatively cheap (as in, costs more than Taco Bell, but less than pretty much everywhere else), the portions are huge, the salsa is fresh and the chips are still hot from the fryer when they arrive at your table. The service is always great. The waiters (it's an almost exclusively male staff, or was the last time I was there) are friendly and though some of them are obviously still learning English, I've never, in five years of going to this place, had them get an order wrong. I went there a lot when I lived in Wapak, and go everytime we visit my in-laws. They have a great lunch menu, lots of vegetarian choices and just some of the tastiest food I've ever had. After not having been there in almost two years, I went last summer while visiting the mainland. I was certain I'd built up El Azteca to a level it couldn't match. But when I got there and tried it, it was better than I remembered. Also, the decor (including the new, neon-painted chairs) is awesome. Hilariously stereotyped perhaps, but distinctive, that's for sure.

The food here is ok My only complaint is with the upper management when talking to them about my concerns.They really made me feel like they were not at all concerned so I stopped eating them most likely will never to return

Never had an issue here. Food is always fast, and good. Staff is always nice. If I eat Mexican. I eat here.

I had some steak tacos and fries, the tacos were really good. The customer service was also good. My food came to my table in like about ten minutes after I ordered. The place looks really like an authentic Mexican restaurant.

What a gem. Very hard to find non fast food items when traveling with a lot of people and I'm glad we were recommended to this spot. Any place that's kind enough to seat 6 people without much fuss will always be super high in my book. The margaritas are exceptional. Went with the large ones and thats the way. Extremely tasty gold margaritas - plenty of booze in these. The lunch specials were outrageous. An enchilada and a taco? Get outta here. Everything was very delicious and was served very fast. I feel like everyone was able to get something different and there was no dissenting opinion on how good the food was. My friend even pulled a prank and said it was my birthday and they were so sweet and gave me a shot and put a sombrero on my head while singing happy birthday. This place is definitely an unassuming gem and would recommend to any folks that are passing through to stop for lunch - it was well worth it!

Good prices, decent food, comfortable climate. The menu is not large however there is definitely a good selection. Extras were surprising (e.g. free chips and salsa however hot salsa cost $1.50). Iced tea was excellent.

The shrimp fajitas I got 6 small shrimpAnd it was super greasy with the vegetables but everything else good. Service great. Nice folks.

Love the staff and food there always friends and happy to help great atmosphere too it's is always a fun time when the family goes
