PROS: I would give this complex a 4-star rating based on the pros of living here, and a one for the insecurity. (1) The management here is superb. Professional, friendly, and quick to resolve tenant issues.(2) Maintenance requests are typically dealt with quickly with follow-up from management on occasion. The gentleman who handles maintenance requests is nothing short of outstanding, professional, friendly, and efficient. (3) The location is super convenient to parks, the freeway, downtown area, and grocery stores. If you work in the downtown area, you have the option to drive (though parking is expensive), use the Car 2 Go service, or take public transportation.(4) The complex is quiet with a majority of the tenants being professionals.(5) Pet-friendly with a common area to play with your dogs and meet other pet parents. You might spot one or two people walking their pretty cats as well.CONS: (1) This neighborhood/complex has unfortunately become unsafe. The downside to having an open complex is that the public can walk through the complex at all hours. This has led to an increase in cars being broken into or vandalized in recent years. The most recent (and appalling) incident happened between the evening and early morning hours of Feb 17 and Feb 18, 2017. Five or six different cars *all* had their rear windows smashed in. The cost of the repairs obviously falls on the tenants. There was an incident last year where students from a school close to the complex broke a window (for fun), and another incident involved students from the same school jumping on a tenant's car and putting a dent in the hood.To date, there have been no measures to increase security such as installing security cameras, since building a fence around the complex or installing garage doors for all units may not be a feasible solution in the near future due to the cost, especially for future tenants. If security is a huge factor when choosing to live downtown, bear in mind that the likelihood of getting your car broken into more than once is quite high at this complex. Should you want to take the chance, I otherwise believe you'll enjoy living here.

This Market Mohawk is my favorite apartment that I have lived in over my ten years in Columbus. It is Not the newest, fanciest, and doesn't have many amenities like a pool or gym, but all other aspects are great. It has a perfect location, and the price is unbeatable. It is in a more quiet corner of downtown, making it very accessible from all highways, restaurants, and bars. It is reasonably quiet considering it is Downtown. The management is very friendly, always very communicative, and service requests are dealt with in a timely manner. Considering it is about 30 years old, and a bit dated, they do a good job keeping everything in working order, and they are happy to work with tenants to accommodate any requests. I often find packages at my door, because management sees they are outside the common doors, and they hand deliver them inside. That is pretty cool and considerate. They are pet friendly for an incredibly reasonable charge also, and that has made a world of a difference. **I read the other reviews, and I can relate to the one about "safety". But that has nothing to do with the complex, but rather the location. This is one of downfalls of living in an urban environment. Tenants choose to live in the area, and therefore subject themselves to urban people.** I know this company has multiple complexes. My experience has been exceptional at the Market Mohawk location. This location doesn't have an elevator, or pool room, so I am not sure what the other review is referring to?

Very unhappy with my year lease with New Horizons Housing. While the staff exhibits friendliness and support, I had a number of experiences that severely disrupted the year I lived there. At the end of my lease, I had $120 deducted off my security deposit for extremely minor issues including a few crumbs found in the oven ($20), a few crumbs in the refrigerator ($15), and a "stain" on the kitchen floor ($35). This building is quite old and needs a serious renovation. The elevators were hardly in service, breaking again and again. The hallways smelled like stale cigarettes and the carpets looked as if they hadn't been replaced since the building was constructed. The water was turned off for over 24 hours at one point and I had to shower and get ready for work at my gym. A homeless man was found sleeping in the pool room which clearly indicated a lack in security. Parking in front of the building is a nightmare. My car was towed the first week I lived there due to street cleaning with a $300 fine. Leasing company failed to let me know of this possibility when I moved in. Overall, I would definitely NOT recommend this leasing company.

Excellent service from start to finish. New horizons manages the building I live in and I have never had an issue. They allow you to send your valuable packages to their office and sometimes they deliver it to my door. Maintenance requests are very convenient; you can make one online at midnight and they will stop by before noon the next day.
