Diner 39

I was there with my family and we were sitting there for over an hour with absolutely no service after we got our drinks. We saw multiple people come in after use and they all got their food before us as well. When management was confronted by my family about the wait the server was a sweetheart and apologized but the manager gave us complete attitude and treated us poorly.

Stopped in on a Monday @ 1pm: service was good; side salad was also good: but the country fried chicken with the sausage gravy was terrible! Tough to cut ... maybe it was frozen? Could barely eat just a little bit; gravy had a smell & bad taste; but fries & toast were good

We have been to Diner 39 a total of 5 times since we moved to Shelby in May 2021. We have never had a bad meal. The food has always been really good. The diner is cozy, like an old school truck stop. It is quiet and relaxing. The coffee is excellent diner coffee. I highly recommend this restaurant. I think the only frustration that I have is that it doesn't have more hours. It is only open during the morning and early afternoon. It would be nice if it were open later in the day. I think because of the current staffing trends in the world, they just don't have people that want to work.

This location has had several businesses over the recent years. This one is a winner. Prices are good. Diner food and feel. The chicken Parmesan was huge and tasty. The Reuben was also top notch!! I'll be back!

Great food! I love the breakfast! I remember when it was called Ike's it's kind of like that but they have nicer dessert options now! Good stuff on a Saturday morning.

A Pleasant little hometown restaurant that features Comfort food cooked the way your grandma used to make it . The place seems to be patronized by a lot of locals who appear to be regulars , as many are on a first name basis with the wait staff . The menu contains a nice selection of typical diner delights and Features daily blue plate specials which are economically priced and tasty . One outstanding winner is The all you can eat deep fried fish dinner served on Friday's which comes with cole slaw and fries and is as mouth watering as the menu photo presents it to be . The wait staff is friendly and prompt with re-fills On coffee , water , and carbonated beverages . Our various visits have always been enjoyable as we have always been pleased with the taste and portion size Of any of the Meals that we have ordered there . The folksy ambiance of the diner brings back pleasant memories of days of yore when the Restaurant was part of the L&K restaurant chain Which was headquartered in Marion ohio . For a pleasant evening out .... why not giveDiner 39 a try ? I think you'll like it !

The food is good but it takes so long for them to even order and then getting your food takes so long. They just need to move quicker.

Right now I'm at the first booth to the left of the counter. There is green tape on the seats which seems unwelcoming. But the lemonade is good and I have yet to receive my Buffalo Wings. There is a buzzing noise coming from the freezer and the tv is losing its picture so it looks blurry. The waiter is nice.I CHANGED THE REVIEWthe wings ARE SI FREAKING GOIIOIIDI

This was a horrible experience. The server was polite. Management was rude and needs to be trained in customer service. Good luck with maintaining a customer base in a small town.

Horrible service waiting over 75 mins to get food. And just paid for our drinks and left. We understand we had a large group of 9 but when others were served that came in after, was ridiculous. Person at front counter was very rude upon entering until we left. Waitress was pleasant. ​NEVER will step foot back in this place again. Had to give one star only for the waitress.
