The fact that these only cost a little more than at Kroger tells me something about Kroger's prices...

Who knew this was here? Not me. Had some free time and was wandering downtown before lunch, no idea what "DGX" meant, got close and: hey, a grocery store! Actually, a Dollar General. Super handy to have here. Lots of people living and working nearby, big garages all around, and a decent selection of food and even home goods here. Prices, well, a little high because it's downtown. But, a few spot checks show they're not much higher than Kroger on particular items, which says more about Kroger, I guess. I got a juice because I was thirsty; reasonably priced and refreshing. Clerk was friendly and helpful. She said "it's Dollar General- but better!" Place was clean, plenty of natural light, not busy on a weekday morning.

I think this is a really nice Dollar General. Granted it is a dollar general, so don't come in expecting Target. But, for a dollar general it is awesome. It is super close to my house and it honestly has a lot of stuff. Every time I go I leave pretty happy. Lines are long, but again, it is a dollar general after all.

This is in such a great location! There aren't many convenient options like this within walking distance of this area. I've gone a few times to grab drinks and/or snacks but it seems like they have a big array of all kinds of things. It'a different from the other dollar generals but it's still a really nice size. And it is much more clean and organized than other locations as well. The employees are always friendly and usually greet me upon walking into the store. DGX is definitely a nice addition to the area.

I am so happy that DGX Columbus is now open in Downtown Columbus. DGX is for Dollar General Express, and the first one opened in Nashville in 2016 with only 7 stores for the DGX chain with stores in Nashville, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Raleigh, North Carolina. I was very impressed at the layout and cleanliness at DGX Columbus. It offers food with fresh produce, grab-&-go sandwiches and salads, paper & cleaning products, a coffee station, an Icee station, pet supplies, and "an expansive selection of health & beauty products, etc. It is smaller than other Dollar General stores. I bought me a 20 oz. Diet Dr. Pepper there and the employees were very nice and friendly. I will be going back to DGX Columbus soon and will expand beyond the 7 stores that DGX currently has.

The is Dollar General . . . X. What is X here? The number ten? Ten as in a dime--you know--hour glass curves, Baywatch blonde hair flowing in beech breeze, bathing suit bikini, this place is SI swimsuit addition hot compared to the store next door GD? Is it for my generation, the grown cohort of latchkey key kids of the 70s/80s thinned out by the birth control pills and smushed between larger populations of boomers and millennials? No its the latter generation the DG wishes to charm with this rare letter. Is it to X-out the Dollar General in some awkward fake, merchandising attempt at self-depreciation to lessen the ire produced by moving into a gentrified neighborhood? This, yeah this. For DG moving to High Street front of the Cbus Commons downtown was rife with faux controversy and lazy internet angst. I say that with a bit of cognitive dissonance; for all my distaste for pretentious virtue signaling there is loads of justification for fighting DG's move here; their stores are infamous for sucking poor neighborhoods dry, for toxic workplaces, and for disregarding cleanliness. Would X mark the spot for a change to align with the taste of the downtown gentrified millennials?I have to say yes, yes it does,For this is the sharpest, spaceful aislest ( just pretend it's a word--gees) Dollar General store this side of Mercury. Wow, the place is perfectly front-forward, meaning every single product is at the shelf edge and parallel to its neighbor. Perfectly clean, organized, and aligned. There isn't loads of cheap crap filling the aisles here like there is in the ghetto, or small town Ohio. Oh no, this place is actually easily walked through.Items not found in your usual DG in Include produce ( at higher prices than other places,) ready to eat wraps, and craft beers. If DG can do it here than there is no excuse for there other stores to be a dumpster fire, mixed with a sewage geyser, run by zombies that yaven't slept in eons. No excuse. I am no snob, but still, everyone deserve a half decent place to shop. If 5hey can do it here in the high rent section then they can do it everywhere. No excuses.

DGX (Dollar General) is a surprising yet refreshing addition to the downtown area. I've popped in there three times already and found the place clean, well-organized and priced dirt cheap. I'm used to stores located in downtown areas being priced WAY too high for my liking. But, DGX seems to buck the tradition and price everything competitively. Now, I have an alternative to the trashy Brewery District Kroger's. If I don't feel like standing in long lines of a dirty store (see aforementioned trash Kroger's), then I can go to DGX. DGX has everything from grocery basics to clothing and beyond. I'll be back so long as they keep the store clean and prices low.

If I could I would give one star. This was absolutely the worst Dollar general I've ever been to. It looks nice, being that it's part of those luxury apartments, but that's it. The cashier was terrible, she was on her phone which I might add was on speaker phone, arguing with her boyfriend using profanity. We stood at the cashier for atleast 5 minutes before she rang our items up. It has a a sign on the fire that says mask are required and she didn't have one on which was weird to me. I'm not sure of the young lady's name but it was on a Sunday evening 1/2/22.

First of all how in the world is this place closed on a Saturday evening. It's busy on high street and you guys have staffing issues?? Sure. Let's not forget about all of the shelves that are empty for weeks. How about this. Stock your shelves, clean up the place and get some employees to work after 6pm and stay open. This establishment is really a joke. Do better

This store has gone downhill since the old GM quit. I hope the higher ups get their shit together and start putting some level of care back into this store. It used to be fully stocked, never closed and immaculately clean. I have read that the DM of this region is lazy, careless and has no respect for the employees that made this place such a great spot for this area. If this place does reopen, I will not return out of respect for the current employees.
