Desi Tadka just opened up a couple months back. As of now, they are the only Indian restaurant serving the Downtown Delaware area. The space is intimate and have a mix of table and bar seating. Their menu cover a wide range of traditional Indian dish with a specialty of North Indian cuisine. Flavorful meal with excellent services.Aloo Gohbi | This is a dry curry dish that I love. Cauliflower and potato cooked in curry based spices and herbs. The flavor is rich and on point. And next time I may try the medium heat from mild.Chicken Biriyani | The marinated chicken is super tender. Layered with a bed of basmati rice and spices. My favorite part would be it topped with fried onion.

My friend & I were in downtown Delaware for an event, and we wanted to eat, so walked a few blocks over to Desi.I were seated right away and given water. We shared an order of Vegetable Pakora. We chose our entrees and I went with my favorite, Navrattan Korma. We shared an order of bread: Lacha Paratha, because it is whole wheat. Our server was knowledgable and efficient. The food was really great and flavorful.I liked this small, cozy restaurant and hope to eat here again when I am in Delaware.

I had the Tandoori Chicken with a medium spice. The dish was cooked to perfection. It had the right amount of spice and was not dried out. The garlic/onion naan bread was a little on the moister side but not too bad. The vegetable samoa was tasty as well. My friend had a spicy chicken dish which I didn't taste based upon its spiciness. I will definitely return. The service is great and you will never have an empty water glass. My only suggestion would be to have the servers explain the dishes better. My next visit I will need to educate myself with another wonderful dish to try. The restaurant is very welcoming.

I'm a pain in the arse when it comes to Indian food. In the U.K. I was spoilt by choice, and I am from an area which was flooded by Indian restaurants, you quickly realise the good from the bad.In the days since moving to sleepy northern Ohio, I've struggled to find anywhere, even in Columbus that even ticked the middle ground.Found one.Good, large menu. I'm getting my only gripe in early. It has the American style "oh a korma, how spicy do you want that?" And "oh a madras, how spicy?" As a country that needs to change. A madras is as hot as a madras is, a korma, a korma etc. That isn't their fault, just a gripe I carry. On to the menu.A rare sighting of a fish amritsari as a starter. A wonderful tikka style dry fried fish. Popadoms (of the two "usual" varieties they're the spicier ones) with two dips. Tamarind and a mint yoghurt. Both incredibly good. The amritsari was spiced and cooked to perfection. With this, my wife and I ordered some mango lassi. Sweet and tart. Ideal. Exactly how it should be. Not runny. A light yoghurt style mix. Big fan.For mains, we went for a vegetable korma, a lamb saag and two garlic naans. Some pilau rice also came with the dishes that we didn't order, it was light and fluffy. I don't normally have rice with my Indian food but I really can say how nice it was.The lamb saag was ordered hot and the veg korma was medium. Both spice levels were as we expected. The curries were cooked so well, tender "fall apart on the fork" lamb. Good mix of veg in the korma. The naan breads were thin but well coated with ghee and garlic. I cannot fault anything at all.Staff were really lovely and took time to check on us regularly and were attentive to everyone there. We made it just about at the end of lunch. I'll be back for a bit longer next time and trying some more items. Can't wait.Price was good, for two people under $70 for more food than we could eat. As we all know, good Indian food also matures like a pizza after you've had it as a leftover. So we took them home and made sure to have the rest, that evening.Music was nice and not loud. It felt like a family restaurant back in the U.K. (Italian painting on the wall aside, though it does pay homage to the place that was there before!).Love it. I hope they're really successful (I overheard they've only been around for two weeks at the time of writing!) - I'm so happy to have the restaurant close to me. Huge fan.

My husband and I ordered takeout. The food was made to the spice levels we requested. They were able to make a vegan dish as I requested. Our order was ready on time and tasted great. Definitely will make a return visit.

Desi Tadka hits the spot! Such flavorful filling food! Ate leftover Chicken Tikka Marsala for breakfast it's that good! It seems odd for breakfast but I couldn't help my self! Also had the Boneless Chicken 65 and man I've never had that type of crispy red chicken as an appetizer before! Makes me want the recipe to cook it at any event.

Finally, Indian food comes to downtown Delaware!Recently opened 10Nov23, we tried it out tonight. We were BLOWN AWAY!!The place was packed, it smelled amazing & everyone looked happy & satisfied. For apps-we tried the veggie pakora: well seasoned, fried to perfection, fresh without being heavy, clumpy or greasy. The veggie samosas were just as delicious. Tamarind & mint chutney spot on & fresh. Last app wast the chicken 65-aromatic, fresh chicken chunks, spiced just right. YummyMains: Malai Tikka was tender, fresh, addictive. Wifey gave it 2 thumbs up. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, buttery, fragrant with juicy large chicken breast chunks. The sauce was amazing and not runny. Winner winner We shared the veggie Hakka noodles. That tasted great as well. The basmati rice included was served in large portions, fluffy, soft, seasoned perfectly. The naan was fresh out of the tandoori. Fluffy, tasty. Perfect for mopping up the masala sauce The owner said the liquor permit should be ready in a week. My expectations were low because of the location, but we were absolutely amazed. Our new go to for Indian food. You must try. Simple decor, attentive service reasonable prices and good portions.

Delicious, authentic Indian food in a cozy atmosphere in downtown Delaware! Friendly and helpful staff. Really like the Kashmiri Naan which complements the curries, and the large, diverse menu. You can walk around & explore Delaware afterward, & parking is easy.

So excited to have Indian in Delaware!Excellent service, the staff will make sure your water glass stays full and you are checked in on. The menu has many options. The garlic naan was crispy and chewy - perfect for scooping up these tasty dishes. If you're curious or worried about spice level - no worries there. We got the chicken tikka masala special at the 2nd to highest spice level - Hot. We like spicy food and honestly it could have been way hotter, it had probably red pepper flake level spice and my lips never tingled. We'll definitely order extra hot next time! Will definitely return!
