Always a pleasure to golf at Denison Golf Club. This course has always been in great shape every year we visit. The staff is friendly and professional. The snack bar has several options at reasonable prices. The pace of play is monitored and addressed when needed. Lots of risk/reward options for advanced golfers!

Absolutely wonderful golf course. Short but challenging due to the mature trees and difficult greens. The staff were all extremely polite. The only minor issue to me is the golf course uses gas powered carts and the holes are close together. It's distracting sometimes when the group behind you or on another hole is motoring by you while you try to swing. Nothing you can do about that though. Also in response to Joshua H's 1 star review where he criticized the dress code: He was so offended they don't allow him to wear gym shorts. He then claims he will take his "scratch game" somewhere else. Anyone with a stretch handicap doesn't wear gym shorts golfing. Please do take your amazing talents elsewhere Joshua.

Beautiful course with lots of challenges. Back nine is a bit tougher than the front. Friendly staff and the course is in great shape. Good deals during the week after 2pm. Looking to return again soon. Hole 18 could be a postcard from the tee.

One of the most challenging courses in Ohio. Designed in 1924, the greens are fast even when it rains 80% of the time over the past 50 days. You can schedule a tee time 30 days in advance on the web, which is great for a small town course. Every hole provides a different type of challenge. The carts are very cool looking with caps and dual cup holders for each rider. The rough is very rough and you'll be adding strokes if you play from it.The view from the 18th hole is absolutely gorgeous. Especially, in the fall as the leaves are changing. The view of the foliage with multiple church steeples rising above the trees and touching the crystal blue skies is truly something to experience. You can hear the church bells ring announcing the hour. The staff are (and have been for decades) polite, helpful, and friendly. The fairways and greens are very well maintained.

The course is great and when I played it in late June, 2014, it was in fantastic shape. I can't say I've ever experienced a friendly or polite staff, though. It has the feel of a private club in that regard (but it is a public course.) The carts are the base model, gas-powered carts, but since the course doesn't have cart paths throughout, they seem to be liberal with the cart rules (since they have to be). It's a bit of a drive from Columbus (but no further than Cooks Creek or Chapel Hill and other similarly-rated courses). It is a little pricey, but I'm happy to play it once a year. It is a challenging track, with nice greens and some beautiful views. If you're a high-handicapper, you might struggle a bit, but at least it will be a pleasant 4 hours. As an FYI, they do not have a Sunday liquor license, so you cannot buy beer there on Sundays.

The National Collegiate Club Golf Association hosted our 2013 Spring Regional event here. The course is fantastic Donald Ross design that provided a great test to the competitors. The Head Professional, Rodney Butt, and his staff were very accommodating for college students, and we would love to back to this course. NCCGA is a great organization which hosts competitive club golf tournaments for college students around the country. I am student at the University of Michigan and Granville Golf Course is golf course that is appealing to golfers of all skill levels. Visit our website NCCGA.org

Great course layout and very well maintained except for the bunkers. I'm not sure if we caught the grounds crew on a bad day but for the price, I expect the bunkers to be maintained. They were hard and crusty. Also the cart paths are in terrible shape and its mats only on their range.

Just finished another round at Denison Golf Club in Granville Ohio. In a word "Beautiful"! Arrived early and talked to the proshop attendant, Bill, for a while. He said conditions were perfect despite all of the recent rain. We were off. Bill was right. The fairways were cut at just the right height to give you a good lie. First cut of rough was thick and fluffy, playable if you were in there but better to just keep it in the middle. Greens were consistent as far as speed and break but they are treacherous. I have played here before and knew what to expect. Sand was in great shape for the two in which I found myself. Pace of play was great. We never caught up to the group ahead of us for more than a couple minutes wait and the group behind us never pushed us. The view from the tee box on 18 is spectacular. It looks like you could drive it a mile from up there. We all hit nice drives to the fairway way below (with one mulligan for me!). Great finishing hole. A tough course but a great time. We will be back.
