I love eating breakfast at Delaney's. Simple but effective menu choices with something for everyone. It's near the Alum Creek trail which makes it great for a post run meal. This morning I tried out the breakfast casserole. Another good option but my favorites are the Indy 500 and the breakfast sandwich. The staff are very friendly and seated us quickly this morning. The waitress stopped but plenty of times to make sure we had full coffee cups and quickly brought out our food. The place gets fairly loud, like many other diners but you can always still have a conversation. I will gladly return again.

My first visit to a Delaney's (Westerville location) was a great one! I came in to try the Pasta Salvi, which is one of the things they are known for. However, when I saw the fried bologna on the menu and asked my server what she thought about it, she convinced me hands down to give it a try and she did not steer me wrong. I'm not really a diner girl or care for diner style food, but sometimes simple dishes like these hit the spot. The thick cut of the bologna was just right. The pickles, onion & cheese with mustard is how it comes and it's exactly what I would have wanted on it if not. I personally asked for more pickles than the pictures show. Now, onto the fries... These were some of the best fries I've had. Perfectly golden fried, that happy area where they are not undercooked nor on the verge of too crispy. Savory, batter-style coating on them that is just so well seasoned. The service was also great, from the servers to the guys on the grill behind the counter. They were all friendly and helpful & I did not need to wait for a drink, my food or my check at all. I think Candi (sp?) was the name of my server & I highly recommend her. I tipped over 20% but nothing crazy either & when I came out of the restroom, she went out of her way to thank me. I now plan on returning to this place regularly to make my way down the menu. Especially those interesting sounding items like the BLT Cone and the Pasta Salvi. But in all honesty, some of the simple items like the French toast & the pancakes, look out of this world too.

There are several Delaney's locations around Columbus but I have only dined in their Grandview and Westerville locations. This review is specific to the Westerville diner but most everything is also true for the Grandview location. This is a breakfast/lunch place (weekday hours are 6:30a to 2:30p; Saturday and Sunday hours are 7a to 3p).The Westerville location is kind of tucked away at the south end of the shopping center at the corner of Westerville and Dempsey Roads. The service here is always excellent and the food is great. We've been here for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I have menu favorites, depending on the time of day but some standouts are their corned beef hash and their pork tenderloin sandwich. The pork tenderloin sandwich is huge and rivals anything that Indiana has to offer.Great service, excellent food, nice diner-like atmosphere and good prices.

Was really good! We went on a Friday morning the day after Thanksgiving. Everyone was rushing around. I felt like some items were a bit pricey for what you get. But most everything was very affordable. A bit loud when busy but it's a pretty big place. Definitely a family diner. Will be back.

I absolutely loved this place! We ordered Delaney's breakfast with added hashbrowns and the breakfast conewich. The pancakes were the best I've had in a while and were just the way I like them, soft yet dense. The eggs and hasbrowns were cooked well and not overly greasy. The conewich was definitely a novelty that I have yet to see at other breakfast places. Our server was super nice and super busy it felt like she was rushing around, but kept a smile on her face! The only real downside was that it felt like the food took a while to come out, but they were pretty busy.Overall, I'd definetly stop by if you're in the area and make sure you order the pancakes!

Very busy on a Sunday but we were quickly seated. My Western Omelet was great and they fulfilled my request for no cheese. Coffee, water and iced teas were kept refilled, great fast service at a good price! Good lot parking! Tucked in a corner of a strip mall.

I came here a week ago, but it was so crowded. I tried again today, later in the day, and it was not as crowded. I ordered online for pickup, and food was ready when I arrived. I ordered the ruben sandwich with fries, one pancake, and scrambled eggs with hash browns, bacon, and biscuit. I ate the ruben and fries, and am having the breakfast items tomorrow. I really wanted to try the corned beef hash, but decided on the sandwich this visit. The corned beef was tender, and the rye bread was nicely buttered and grilled. As this was my first time ever trying a ruben, and although it was not my cup of tea, it was okay. Thought about next time just ordering a plain corned beef sandwich, but the flavor of the corned beef is not what I am used to eating --not enough flavor for me, but the fries were pretty good , even though I prefer my fries unseasoned. I miss the corned beef sandwich that I used to get in Cleveland. But anyway, as I was putting the other food away for the next day, I had to try a bite of the pancake-- it was light, fluffy and delicious! I wanted to eat the whole thing, but I gained self control, and did not eat it all. My only complaint is that it would have been nice if they had added some eating utensils and napkins in the bag. I definitely will go back to Delaney's and try different items on the menu.Update: After heating up breakfast items, pancake still delicious. Everything else tasted good, but the hash browns were super greasy-- heart attack waiting to happen. Next time I will see if I can substitute grits for hash browns.

I love this place so much. I moved to Texas now 2 years ago. I just visited back home. For the holidays in Xmas. I HAD TO STOP here. the prices have went up which ain't no surprise, 2 years ago. I used to stay coming here cause how cheap it was and I couldn't believe how cheap it was, and felt like it needed to be more, check this out, I was so excited to eat here, that I didn't realize I placed the order in the high street area, so I had to make another order, she warned me it would be close to 40 mins, guess what I did? LMAO I WAITED , THATS how much this place is worth. I which i could pack yall and place yall somewhere close to my house in Houston, breakfast like y'all's WILL never be topped in my eyes, idk what yall putting in that breakfast but man... it's everything! I woke up today in Houston wishing I could eat here today

Finally got a chance to try this place after hearing a lot of rave reviews. Inside is like a retro greasy spoon & coming from NJ, the land of diners, I was all for it. We sat at the counter, and after having to wait a bit because they were hopping, the waitress took our order. When we sat down there had been a young lady at the end of the counter, right next to us, portioning out potatoes for future use I guess. Then one of the gentlemen behind the counter made some sort of announcement about burgers and placed two packages of raw meat on the counter beside us and sliced them open. Then he walked away and the meat sat there for several minutes. You can see in the pics how close it was and there were bits of what looked like corned beef around the counter near the slicer that was there. After several minutes we asked a waitress if someone could please wipe the counter and remove the raw meat. Her answer was "well that's because she's going to slice it." and then asked us if we wanted to "slide over" to the next empty seat. After explaining that wasn't the point and that the raw meat shouldn't be out on the eating surface we decided this was not a good sign and left. It cannot be safe to have that opened raw meat out on the counter where people are eating and is a contamination issue. This is not a new concept, but an established policy in food prep and safety. I would encourage people to rethink eating here because if that's what they are doing in plain sight I can't imagine what is not being handled properly behind the scenes. Perhaps a check in from local health inspectors would be a good idea. Do better Delaneys.Edited to add: #1 Customers are not to be sat in prep areas. Prep areas are to imply knives and other kitchen prep equipment are in the vicinity of customers which is an Osha violation.#2 Plastic bags for cryovac items can and will leak. This is why, no matter what, raw meat is ALWAYS store on the bottom shelf of your walk in and away from RTEF (Ready To Eat Foods). Had there been a leak in the packaging of that beef(and it was sliced open )that countertop needs to be cleaned with a soapy solution in a green bucket and sanitized with a solution in a red bucket as per state board of health guidelines.3. If state and local HACCP guidelines are ignored in the same manner but involving an allergen you now have a cross-contact situation where a customer can get very, very sick.4. How long have you been related to the local health inspector and/or how much are you paying them? The correct response to my review should have been:"We are very sorry about the situation. We pride ourselves on upholding the highest quality of service. This was an unfortunate mistake that will not be replicated. As a token of good faith dinner is on us next time."
