Deer Ridge in central Ohio's hills is a different kind of golf than we "flat-landers" are used to.
Delicious food and excellent service at our clubhouse, Black Dog Tavern!

I am a first time Deer Ridge player and diner. In both cases first class. The golf course I feel for the average run of the mill golfer is too tough. The slope from the whites I believe is posted maybe 117 but I feel it should be more like 125. The front nine while not all that long it is very tough especially once you get on the greens. You have to stay below the hole on the greens. The 4 or 5 flat holes on the back are somewhat a relief until you get on the green. This is a truly challenge course. The price is more than my golfnow budget typically allows but then this is not your average golf course as well. A true delight. The meal afterwards was delicious; I had the chicken wrap and fries, an unexpected delicious combo. Very nice experience..

Great course. Don't ever come on a Friday. Women's league takes about 30 minutes to play a hole.

Purchased a membership for my husband as a Christmas gift. He loves the course because it is close by, challenging, and well-maintained. Needless to say, he was thrilled by the gift. The golf course staff was extremely friendly and helpful in guiding me to make the best selection. They even took extra care in mailing the membership card using an envelope that would not reveal the surprise inside.

Course is in nice shape but it's overpriced for a rural course in Ohio! $65 with no junior/senior discounts plus 3% credit card fee and an insufficient number of clean carts for a full golf course. Not a competitive value as the fair price would be $45 or perhaps less from having played over a dozen courses in the area in the last six months.

Nice place once you arrive and get food and drinks, but be sure to not have anything go wrong. If something does go wrong, don't expect any help or communication regarding ANYTHING. I had visited this place back on June 14th. I stopped to meet friends who were golfing at a different course, but this looked like a great place to meet. Our server was nice and the food was fine. Nothing spectacular, but all is fine. Upon leaving, I had noticed there was a green sticky note left on my car from a manager at the course. The note stated "Please stop inside to talk about the tree that had fallen on your car". The gentleman did leave his name on the note. I headed in to speak with him, but another gentleman behind the counter told me that they were out golfing, had 4 more holes left to play, and would be about another 30 minutes until they got in. This was tough for me to understand at this point, but I didn't have any option. The course manager arrived at my car in about 15 minutes, instead of the 30. The only thing that the gentleman shared with me was the owner's email (which was different than the first email given to me inside) and a phone number. Upon contacting the owner the next day, I was told to contact my insurance company. My insurance company did get back with me and shared that it was covered under my policy with a deductible. I contacted the owner again regarding this information and was left with no response back. Be careful if you park out by the trees in the parking lot, or if anything else goes wrong at this course, as it will all be up to you to figure it all out. The $1,400 estimated worth of damage is my proof.

Great Tee shots, better views. Pure fairways is what deer ridge screams but I dare you to post a score. Multiple illegal pins make putting sketchy. Good luck being above the hole.

Make sure you call ahead and ask if they've been aerated! We went today after they just aerated the course and putting was a disaster! The course ranger is a dipstick!Other than all that, it's a nice course.

Played Deer Ridge for the first time yesterday and was very pleased. The course was in immaculate condition. Staff was very friendly. It is a challenging but fair course. It is a very hilly course, especially the front nine and even with a cart, there is quite a bit of walking and climbing. The golf carts are gps equipped which was nice. We didn't use the Club House, but it was spacious and very pretty. Will definitely look forward to a return visit.
