Dave's Custom Butchering

This is a pretty good joint - and, what's more, about the only actual butcher that I know of in the Jackson OH area; i.e. Wellston OH. We particularly go to Dave's to get a good steak and favor ribeye. The consistency isn't 100% but close. Most we've purchased are excellent. A few are a bit short of that mark. My (ex-meat cutter) husband tells me that it's all about the marbling in a steak. Since he's the one at the point of purchase, if his choices are not A+, he could have walked away. Still, that said, we've found Dave's to provide the best in steaks in the Jackson / Wellston area. The ground beef is also top-notch. So, if you're frustrated by the lack of quality in beef you'll find at Kroger, you should give Dave's a try.

This butcher shop is the real deal, local farms supply the livestock that are slaughtered and processed onsite to produce some of the freshest meat you'll find anywhere with no preservatives or other crazy chemical processes that most meat found in grocery stores go thorough. The selection is impressive and the folks working here are super friendly and accommodating, if they don't have something they will find a farm nearby that has it and make arrangements to get it for you. The nice lady working here gave me the full story on where their meat comes from, what they normally have available and what can be ordered special with a few days notice. Overall super happy to have discovered this gem in the little town of Wellston Ohio, the service is top notch and the prices are fair.Pro-Tip: When you visit, pick up a package of the homemade beef sticks, they are like gourmet slim jims.

The best. Family owned and ran. Service is excellent! Best burgers around. Great for grilling and I love the fact that they are square.

This custom butcher shop has be around for many years, so it goes without saying, they know what people want. About any cut of meat is available, just call or ask. Lunch are available also. Quality is always fresh!

Great Meat Processor! They offer vacuum packing and have meat for sale in their store.

I have been getting my beef from Dave's for almost eight years now as my neighbor brings his black angus in for butchering. I have been very pleased with my beef and look forward to a new batch of meat every winter.I look forward to seeing what their display case has available as well.Joe
