Good place in Mount Sterling. It has an inside seating area. There's also some outside. It has a good size menu. Lots of classic greasy stuff. It's been around forever. It may not be fancy, and it looks pretty old. This is still one of the better dining options in town. It appears to have more actual food than ice cream. They still advertise as an ice cream place though. I had a blue raspberry Slush Puppie. This is about $1.75 for a medium size. It has a long tradition. Other than this, there isn't much going on. That must be why it seems everyone in town comes here on the weekends.

Decently priced - friendly staff. Perfect place for a quick (not so healthy) meal. You have to try the bacon wrapped Coney Dog. Heaven in a bun or heart attack waiting to happen. MUST try!

Memorial Day weekend and doing the same thing we do every year. Traveling to see the family at the cemetery. We were looking forward to stopping to have lunch at the same place we went last year. Alas, when we got off the highway we saw that it appeared to have burned down. So on to the cemetery. This year we had some other relatives along for the ride. Passing through the old town they used to visit frequently when they were children, I checked my Yelp App to find some local grub. Located a great sounding place that was supposed to have awesome wings and pizza, but they were closed for the holiday weekend. So back to the car to go back to the only place that was open in town, Dairy Freeze. Upon our arrival they were a little busy, since they were the only open establishment in town. I go a cheeseburger with onion rings and a side of breaded mushrooms while my man got a fish sandwich and fries. Mendy and Steve got hot dogs with fries. While sitting and enjoying our meal I learned that this place has been here for years and years. My man and his sister used to come here when they were children There was a picture on the wall inside from the opening day back in 1956 or 1958. They had some fun trying to locate their aunt, who would have been a little girl in the picture. Then came dessert. I got a swirl cone along with Steve. My man and his sister got a vanilla cone. Just what you would expect from a small town dairy bar. It hit the spot but was nothing extraordinary. Joey the dog was even allowed, since we sat outside under one of the umbrella tables.

After a hot afternoon of fishing at Deer Creek, we were in the mood for some quick food. We drove into town and decided to stop in at Dairy Freeze.Dairy Freeze is one of those old mom and pop dairy bars that most rural towns in Ohio have. They've been around since the 50's and it's easy to see why. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. We got refills on the drink and a cup of water to go with prompt and friendly service. Wait time on our order was under ten minutes. Seating was modest but for a quick bite to eat and some ice cream, it's fine. As for our order, we purchased two grilled chicken sandwhiches, a side of fries, iced tea, and a peanut butter milkshake. The sandwhiches were tasty with the chicken having some good seasoning on them. For $5, it's a decent amount of chicken and well worth the price. The fries were fresh, crispy, and better than many fast food joints I've been to. The milkshake was probably our favorite item. It was like slurping up a homemade buckeye. If you're in the area and are looking for a quick sandwich, drink, or frozen treat, I'd highly recommend stopping in at Dairy Freeze. I know I'll be stopping in next time for sure.

We stopped in on Memorial Day weekend. When I walked in there was a smell that could not be identified. I ordered a hot dog and my husband ordered a cheeseburger and mushrooms. Asked to use the restroom, NO RESTROOM, even though there is indoor dining. So we got our order to go. The mushrooms were great! The hot dog was like ice. I seriously think they took it right out of the fridge and put in on a bun. Unfortunately we were already on our way before I realized it. They only good thing I can say is the staff was friendly and efficient. I can't see me ever eating there again, I prefer my food cooked.
