We came here when it was Maanas under different management and gave it one star. This time we came because friends insisted in part because of the buffet. It's ok. The choices were ok and the food was ok. Most of the customers were East Indian so I guess that is a good thing. But the food was meh. Since we chose the buffet no one came to the table or even spoke to us until we went to the bar to pay. No indication as to what the degree of heat you're going to try or what some of it is. If you choose the buffet you're on your own. Plastic utensils and paper napkins. Room temperature Costco water bottles available. Buffet costs $16 which isn't too bad. Floor had spilled food on it by the buffet table and though employees walked by, no one thought of cleaning it. Overall a mediocre experience.

Today I tried their Sunday buffet the price is 12.99 for kid and 22.99 for an adult . I am a person who won't expect each and every thing in the buffet to satisfy my palate , if some of the dishes are good to knock out the rest , I am good. For me this buffet is good , many items tastes good with good quality . When compared to buffet with n number of item and no single dish is worthy , Daawat Sunday buffet though little pricey , some of the dishes are very good, I will repeat . You should give a try once , real Indian flavor .. one of the best weekend Indian buffet in Columbus ****Good thing is restaurant posts their sat &Sunday buffet menu in FB , so you know what's on the table . Some of the dishes what I liked medhuvada , chicken lollipop , goat fry Briyani , malai chicken , Gongra chicken , tea .Some of the item what I didn't like is cauliflower fry , the dough is very hard and not good . Uttapam is very small , little big 2X should be good . Thought of having Falooda in the buffet is appreciable , no other restaurant will do . But it has all elements of Falooda missing taste .needs more rose syrup . Curd rice is salty .Ambiance is good and spacious. service is nice .This is my opinion , they should have free soft drinks , water glass with ice .

Made the mistake of ordering via Uber eats. Seriously I just wanted lamb chops! What a huge mistake this was . Order came super late. Almost 10pm when it said it would be delivered around 9:20pm. And to make matters worse I got the ENTIRELY WRONG ORDER. See my photo of receipt . Not really sure where the disconnect was but there is something the store is supposed to verify upon handing the order to the driver and this obviously did not happen. The only correct item I received was my sprite canned drink. I know someone was super upset like I was last night as I'm sure they received my order and from what I received it is clear the other customer does not eat meat items. Do not, I repeat DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE USING DELIVERY SERVICES .

I've been to this location before when it was under a different name. Not sure if it's new management or what but it is now Daawat instead of Maanas. My mom decided to venture out of her comfort zone and come check this place out with me. We both were left wanting. Food was ok in flavor but experience just didn't live up. Not sure if it was the huge event they had going on that distracted them or what. 1. Chicken tikka masala: tasted ok. Didn't have a lot of flavor like I'm used to and no spice whatsoever. Actually, we weren't even asked for a spice level after ordering spicy appetizers. The amount of chicken in the dish was sad. Had to stir it to even see some. Rice was not sufficient for the meal, especially with the amount of sauce that the entree brought. And to top it off it was going to be an extra charge for more rice (not the norm when I have frequented other Indian restaurants). 2. Samosas: these were actually quite good. My mistake for ordering two of them when they came with three in an order. I should have known better having frequented Indian restaurants before but since it was not mentioned on the menu I assumed we were each getting one. Seasoned ok, warm inside and crunchy outside. The best thing about these was the tamarind dipping sauce (which is not usually my favorite). The mint chutney did not taste of mint and was a lot more runny than I would have expected. 3. Mirchi Bajji: these I don't know what to think of. Pros- the pepper had a strong flavor, onions were crisp, and it's "fried". Cons- NOT spicy (we were told to order this if we wanted spicy, it did not deliver), lacking in flavor, and worst of all, it was not made fresh. They came out luke-warm and you could tell had been pre-made and just warmed up. Took away some of the crisp and had no flavor. 4. Garlic naan: this was the highlight of the evening. It came out hot, freshly baked, glistening and covered in garlic. It was crunchy, soft and flavorful, all that a good naan should be. Service was decent. The young man taking care of us was super sweet and trying his best. There was a big event being set up and I feel like that took the attention of everyone there. The restaurant portion was a few tables off to the side and just lacked pizzazz. I really enjoyed my time here previously but unfortunately I don't think I will be coming back again unless I want a fix of chicken 65.

So Saffron was my favorite Indian in the general vicinity. They've been closed all year, and I've been making a run at the other Indian offerings around. Ordered: chicken tikka masala, boneless chicken curry, garlic naan. The naan was not as crispy as I would like - not great, but not bad, either. Chicken tikka masala was... more soupy/thin than I am used to, but the chicken was large chunks that were cooked perfectly. The chicken curry was... spicy, and a different flavor than any chicken curry I have ordered elsewhere - again, not bad, but not great. So... the hunt continues.

DAAWAT used to be MAANAS. Same ownership and menu, I believe, but new name. My previous reviews from Maanas were 3 & 4 stars here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/maanas-lewis-centerSadly, I need to back them down to 3 again based on recent service and offerings. This spot is my immediate family's go-to Indian restaurant when we need some curry in a hurry. Until recently, a piece of naan bread was included with with every entree. With no notice, a recent order was absent of our favorite pancakey carb. I thought this was a mistake as they also forgot chutneys for a samosas, so I called and indeed, no more complimentary naan. *SAD FACE* The time before that, I ordered for P/U through the Grub Hub app and when I arrived they hadn't even started the order. They reviewed their order tablet, realized I had ordered and said it would be up in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I left with our dinner and no apology. My sister and I went down to Makhani town last night with an order from the new Daawat. The food is really so good for the price for anything you're gonna get around the Polaris 'burbs. When ordering SPICY, they legit honor that request and there's a good burn. The bill was a little more than usual as we had to add-on the naans, but it's worth it. Strangely, I think they've replaced the entree freebie with a tiny ramekin of rice pudding. We got 2 of them last night. It was inedible rice goo with cashews. Don't bother, Daawat. Bring back the freebie naans or maybe papudum or a gratis pakora?!!

Forgot to take pics of the food because I was too ready to eat it! We ordered four different dishes, three chicken and one vegetarian - they were all yummy. A little on the pricey side if you get naan (since it doesn't come with) but you could swing two meals out of each dish if you wanted to. We thought the spice level, ordering medium, was spot on. We will be going back! Since we couldn't find accurate ones even on the website, we did remember a pic of the hours as of Nov 2021!
