Enjoyed a quick visit to the shop last week. Some of these older reviews really talk down about the service. That wasn't my experience at all. My sister, who is an avid cross stitcher, enjoyed perusing the shelves and looking at threads and patterns. One of the things my sister was very excited to find was hand-dyed backing and a beautiful pattern for a stained glass window. When she couldn't find something she was looking for, she asked for help and received it. The ladies working there were a little quirky, but I think that's to be expected in a cross stitch shop. We also enjoyed meeting Romeo, the beagle. He was very calm and just enjoyed some sniffs and pets before letting us shop.

Cute little store with lots of new patterns as well as fabric, beads, and other notions. It was nice seeing a different store than the one at home.

This is a fun shop for all your cross stitch needs! I was greeted right upon entrance by a friendly pup who sniffed me and followed me around a bit as I began browsing. There are a wide variety of kits, patterns, threads, and other handy supplies for cross stitching. They had quite a few Halloween, autumn, and Christmas items on display up front, which were fun to look at and get into the spirit for. I loved seeing all of the finished pieces on display along the tops of each wall, as well as other items placed around the store. The staff person was busy with another customer when I first entered, but came over and asked if I needed any assistance, and was later quite friendly during checkout. There is plentiful parking available in the Kenny Centre shopping center lot.

A belated and corrective response because I just happened on this. I've been going to CMH for TWENTY+ years, and enjoy the ladies there. They are always helpful, and will order or find anything you want. Just ask. The lengthy 1 star review from Lisa N. Wanamingo, MN was really unfair--one star, after her ONE visit, as she was passing through Columbus, OH. I looked up Lisa N's reviews, and they were judgmental, mean-spirited and negative. She proclaims she 'used to own' a craft store so she knows how CMH should do things. Well, the ladies at CMH who she deemed unworthy have survived for decades. Not sure what happened to her shop. The professional 'review' bullies like Lisa on Yelp are the reason I avoid Yelp.

This is a very nice shop. If you need anything all you have to do is ask they are always helpful. If you want something they don't have in stock they will get it in for you. I love the place.

Nice shop only because they carry all the Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts threads. They seem to get in only two or three new charts when they are released, and that's it. Service is haphazard, seems to depend on their mood. Gave up trying to find charts in their racks, unless it's a just released one from market. I started out liking this shop when I first discovered it 20 years ago, but it seems to be going downhill. I'm from out of town, this is the closest shop to me and I visit two or three times a year so the changes are more evident to me than someone local who shops there at least once a month. And that dog should be kept in the back room, away from the customers. During my last visit, I saw one customer panic and leave when she saw it.

Great place...if you need info on how NOT to run a business.Came in, no greeting from neither of the two workers I saw, no offer of help, zippo, nothing while I meandered the shop for at least 15 minutes. I was looking for a particular backing and did find it, but by then I was not in a mood to 'bother' them by asking for a cutting. One was doing stocking or such and the other on and off the phone at the front counter.Could be a decent shop perhaps, tho cramped quarters and poor organization of inventory are other hurdles they would need to get over, in addition to some staff training. If you need a particular thread and don't mind hunting it down, fine. Personally, after having owned a craft shop myself, I found myself putting items back that i had intended to purchase because they most certainly did not inspire the 'I want to support this small local business' mindset that I almost always have in little shops like this.Very disappointing.

I had a similar experience as the first review. When I went in, there were a few customers being helped. I walked around for 15 minutes, and even after the other customers left, nobody asked if I needed help, or was looking for anything in particular. The selection was great, but the owners/employees could be a little more personable.
