The food is tremendous, the service is attentive and friendly, and we would love to have Cornucopia cater every event! The staff brought fresh cut wild flowers for the serving table and thought about many other smallish details that made our dinner party stand out. Fresh & unusual cheeses for the cheese board, the freshest vegetables, rich creamy potatoes . . . everything tasted like it was from a 5 star restaurant and was served at the perfect temperature. They certainly live up to their great reputation!

Cornucopia is a catering service that has been around for about 28 years. They have an office in Bexley but they don't really do walk-ins. You must call them and make your plans with them. They cater for many types of events at many places, including your home. Menus available are cocktail and buffet receptions, with an assortment of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Some of the buffet items are dishes like fragrant steamed chicken with sherry, ginger and garlic on a bed of basmati rice, Swedish pancakes with cream cheese and pear, and pear and almond tarts with apricot glaze. Cocktail menus are divided into "tables", like a vegetable and sandwich table in which you can find exquisite sounding dishes like grilled duck breast with spicy plum sauce on cornmeal pepper brioche.

I called Cornucopia when I was looking for a caterer for my wedding since they are located in Bexley and I wanted to support a business in my own community. The individual who answered the phone first asked my budget before any other details other than my name, date and venue. No questions about buffet or served food, types of courses, cocktail reception, linen rental, etc. When I replied that I didn't have a budget, that we are more focused on quality and service for our special day, he pressed. He said "everyone has a price" but again didn't ask for any details of my wedding. I answered honestly and said we were only starting too look but the one quote we have received was for $8k. He laughed into the phone and told me he wasn't even going to quote because why would I pay more for my wedding (again, with 0 details) and they would be at least 14k. Again, I stated I didn't really have a budget and as a preferred caterer of our venue I would still like a quote. He told me they were too busy to even quote and maybe in 2 weeks they could send me one, which never happened. I have never been treated in such a poor way by a customer service representative over the phone and I honestly believe it has to do with either my long "foreign" last name or being a woman who deigns to do business. He had no other basis to turn me down so abruptly besides bias. I am only writing this review so hopefully the business owners can hear how potential customers willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars are treated and can resolve the issue. Ladies and immigrants, be warned! Your money is not welcome.

Suzanne and her team executed a phenomenal dinner party service that wowed our special guests, faculty from the Kellogg School at Northwestern Univ. We enjoyed a cocktail hour with passed appetizers and an amazing dinner buffet. The food was delicious. The staff were incredibly professional -- they handled everything so I could spend quality time with my guests. They also did a perfect clean up at the end of the evening. Highest recommendation!
