Laid back, family friendly food, bar and live music on Buckeye Lake. They can get busy - when they are crowded, parking and the kitchen require a little patience. But staff are nice, food is good, prices are very fair, and we don't hesitate to take our kids.Vibe is Jimmy Buffet casual. If you're in a hurry, this may not be your best choice on a weekend during the summer boating season. But if you're "on lake time", then "The Penny" is a lot classier, and more enjoyable, than many places on the lake.

Over the last three summers, we have gone to the lake almost every Sunday to watch Randy sing and play his guitar. It is always a good time on a Sunday afternoon. I love, love the garlic butter wings along with a few cold ones. During the winter, we always look forward to the summer Sundays at Copper Penny!

Up here yesterday we were cruising around the lake decided to stop in and have a couple drinks service was good at the bar. Friendly bartender good selection of beer and spirits all the customers were happy. Fun little place first time I've been there live music also Brad moore entertaining performer and a friend. Worth checking out if you're in the area. Didn't try the food we were saving that for another place.

Awesome place for the whole family. This place seems to be the personification of "buckeye lake life." What they lack in "modern amenities" they more than make up for in their food (the wings especially), atmosphere, friendly staff and maybe most importantly, drink prices. If you're looking for a family friendly dive bar/restaurant with plenty of character, come check out the Penny!

This is a laid back and fun place to hang out. The food is great and the staff is always very fast and professional. If they bring the brownies back to the menu you will be in for a treat. This is our top place to eat around buckeye lake. I think me and my wife like it there so much is because it has that small hometown feel.

Sat there for an hour and never received our food or appetizer, when I asked what the hold up was told ANOTHER half hour. We do believe she forgot to turn our order in. We paid for our drinks and left. Were we offered a discount on our drinks for this mishap? NOPE! Go to Papa Boos or The Port much better service there. Very disappointed!

The Copper is one of the friendliest places on the lake. I like it more than any of the other places on the lake.

I'm siting at copper penny right now. We were the ONLY table and it took over an hour to get our food. This is a regular occurrence and we live on the lake. The food is delicious but the staff does not work very hard at all and is extremely inattentive to the customers. This means that there is poor management and I fear for the future and survival of this business. Good wings and pizza will only get you so far. Love, The residents of buckeye lake.

Slow slow slow. This would be the perfect place for an episode of bar rescue John Taffer could come in here and rip the owners just heard the excuse of why the food is so slow he said that everyone came at once and yet he is not in the back helping the kitchen staff pathetic. Bartenders are great and the beer is cold the food is good when it does come out but it's just lack of enthusiasm been sitting here for over an hour waiting on pizza and wings. Here is the owner of standing around smiling like everything is OK and yet he knows there's people waiting for food

Stopped in by pontoon and tied up to their pier which was missing several boards. We went inside to eat and all the tables were covered with chairs and no one was at the bar so we assumed they wanted us to stay outside. Went into use the ladies room and one of the toilets was marked out of order. I went to wash my hands and noticed the sign said all employees must wash their hands before they return to work, however, there was no soap in the dispenser. Apparently they had put in a jar of hand soap in it's place but it was empty. That was about all we needed to decide maybe this wasn't where we wanted to eat so we left. This isn't the first time we've been to the Penny. We've been there several times over the last 15 years but this was the worst I've ever seen it. Doubt we stop in again.
