Columbus Unscripted

This group is a great offers a great environment for anyone who wants to express their creativity in the form of performance. I went out to an event tonight and participated in an open mic where I felt extremely supported and welcomed by my fellow performers, and the audience members. A night out, a new experience and nothing but fun all around..... Columbus Unscripted is for you. I have been to many of their shows that have featured a wide variety of productions and casts. See You Thursday and Sassy Do are the veterans but all of their productions are amazing, new and old. I mean how can you beat 2-3 hours of non-stop improv, comedy and entertainment, BYOB and VIP treatment, all for under $10? Ill tell you, you can't! The best part is the sense of true family and friends that Columbus Unscripted shares with all their guests and audience members. You are sure to catch owners, Bill and Barbara and all the cast members, walking around talking and befriending all who come to the shows. I have never seen that anywhere before. It's due to the Columbus Unscripted motto... "Everyone Matters". Whether it be their amazing Annual Festival, their numerous Improv Productions, their Stand Up or their All Play sessions at the end of every show where they invite the audience to come up and participate, one thing is for certain, Columbus Unscripted does not disappoint!

My wife and I were visited Columbus recently and were looking for something different and fun to do. This fit the bill and was well worth the money to see it. We caught "See you Thursday" on a Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The improv-ers were playful and creative, the stand-up in between was solid, and everyone was having fun. While not the most polished improv, the groups delivered an entertaining blend of the awkward, absurd and hilarious.

Cbus Unscripted puts forth great local improv and comedy shows. I especially enjoy the all-female Sassy Do improv group, the stand-up night on the last Monday of the month and the Annual Improv Fest with Hitch Cocktails and others. I've been to about 10 different Cbus Unscripted events and was glad I went every time. You can tell there is a pretty cool community within Cbus Unscripted but it is never cliquey and is always welcoming to me and others that are not performers. In fact - one of those non-performers (a friend of mine) actually got on stage a number of times on stand-up night. Very cool!
