The actors and show were great. That's where it ends for me. I went as a school group to see "Pete the Cat" and the staff was not accommodating in the least. They basically kicked us out immediately after the show and were very nit-picky, not even allowing for the teachers to get a quick picture near the stage. We WON'T be supporting this theater again! So disappointed! We had a phenomenal experience at a theater in the Riffe center several years back to see Madeline's Christmas. I'm just shocked at the difference.NOT a fan.

Went with a friend and we both took our kids to see Little Red Riding Hood. Not only was it funny, but the audience participates! It's 13.00 per ticket on Thursdays and there is metered parking in front of the building on both sides of the street. My friend and I ordered our tickets over the phone and picked them up at will call. Will call was very organized! All the kids got playbills and at the end of the show the actors came out and signed them. You can also take pics with the actors and the kids-which reminds me... the Wolf comes out at the beginning of the show ( it is very well done) and reveals that he is a human playing a wolf so it is less scary for the kids. Check out the website before you go for activities to do at home before the play. They also offer sensory friendly shows! They have contests and camps as well.

If you want to take your young family to see live theater, this is a great place to start! The performers are mostly children, with a few local veterans on stage as well. You can clearly learn through CCT website and mailings what age the shows are likely to be appropriate for, how long the show is (which is relevant for the youngest theatergoers), and details about the plot. Across the board, the quality of the performance is reliable. You can expect good singing voices, acting that appeals to the littles, and super adorable costumes. We recently saw Pinkalicious and were all amused and entertained for the hour show. Plus, there was a craft to do in the lobby and the audience can meet the cast for autographs and pictures after.I recommend having dinner at the North Market beforehand. That way, there's something for everyone and parking. Otherwise, there are enough meters that you don't have to worry about parking.Another tip, you can save money by going on a Thursday! And for the babies and toddlers who will sit on a lap, you can get a very cheap (maybe $5 if I remember correctly) ticket. We can't wait to see Scrooge this winter!

Columbus Children's Theater is the place to go if you are a child who wants to act, or for anyone who likes a good show. Over the years CCT has produced many alumni who go on to act professionally. Jessica Grove is currently doing Broadway, as is Valerie Acetta. CCT provides an excellent foundation for the kid who knows they've gotta dance, sing, or work backstage. CCT is open year round for classes and shows. The productions star children both on stage and back of the house. Much more than your high school musical or drama department, this is serious theater. This is reflected in the wide offerings of shows put on.This year will bring classic kids tales like Charlotte's Web and Peter Pan to life. CCT also does drama like Sarah Plain and Tall, and Sundiata. From funny shows to serious drama CCT is worth the spotlight.I love the annual Christmas shows. Usually the onstage version of the Christmas Pageant, this year is going to feature Ebeneezer. Also a favorite is the summer show which lets the older high school crowd show off. The theater itself is tiny and boxlike. The lobby is small and gets crowded with well wishers after the shows. If you can, go to opening night gala events. Be sure to check out the cast bios on the walls.CCT is a great way for any child to have their first initiation to theater. Whether on stage or watching, CCT will give your kid a place to shine.

Went to see Chicago last night. My husband is not really into theatre so I was kind of thinking maybe, maybe not. But we went with some friends and we all really enjoyed it. The experience of the actors right on the floor in front of you is really neat. Told my kids they need to take my grandchildren up there to see a children's play. The acting and singing was awesome. Good job. Joyce Blackston
