My tamale was tasty but also disappointing. The Veggie Tamale is supposed to have tomatoes, peppers, chickpeas, spinach, onion, cilantro & chipotle sauce. My tamale had NO spinach, onion or cilantro and it only had 5 or 6 chickpeas. Amazingly, it was tasty (the masa) but there was not much to it. Even though it had a good flavor, I also couldn't detect any chipotle sauce or flavor. When I told the vendor, she apologized and offered me another one to take home but I wasn't going home for a while so I declined. I didn't expect a full meal for $5 but I expected more than I got.

We found Columba's Mexican Food at the Upper Arlington Farmer's Market, where they had a booth offering a wide variety of tamales, including pork, chicken, sweet potato, sweet corn, poblano, and veggie. The tamales are large and wrapped in banana leaves and foil, and were passed over to us piping hot. We opted for a pork one and a chicken one, and both were delicious! Both flavor and texture were lovely. The staff person was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the tamales and would love to try more in the future.

These tamales are legit and right now are my first stop every Saturday morning at the Clintonville Farmer's Market. I've only ever tried the pork tamale with the delicious red hot sauce. I should try one of their other several flavors, but in my mind, why challenge nirvana? What is especially sweet about this market stand/food truck is that it's a family effort. Storytime: I work at the Wild Cat's! Confetti House several Saturdays a month doing the free "Kids Craft" during the Farmer's Market (Columba's stand is right in front facing the Autozone on Dunedin). The weekend of Cinco de Mayo, daughter Brenda came in and offered me a free tamale from their stand and rattled off all the flavors. She's adorable and quite the little business lady helping out her mom at the stand every week. The business is named after & uses her grandmother, Columba's, recipes. I obviously LOVED my sample and ended up buying a 1/2 dozen for my sister's Cinco bash the next day. I've been a customer since. You can get your tamales warm ready-to-eat, or chilled for later. They're bulging with meat (They've got vegetarian options as well!) and the masa harina filling is packed into a banana leaf. Get the green or red hot sauce on top too. It's good stuff from the sweetest little family. Find their food truck location or hit them up at the Clintonville Farmer's Market on Saturday's 9am - 12noon.

Columba's is a food truck and vendor at Worthington Farmers Market. The food truck can be found at various spots around Columbus, but it looks like they frequent Zaftig and Sideswipe Brewing. I've only visited the stand at Worthington Farmers Market, which sells different flavor tamales. I've had the sweet corn, pork, and chicken. Each tamale is $3 and topped with your choice or mild or hot sauce. I've tried both sauces and I have to say - I would buy either sauce if they started selling it at the Farmers Market. The mild green sauce was the perfect compliment to the sweet corn tamale. The pork tamale had a very generous portion of tender pork. All of the tamales are gluten free, and they have vegetarian options as well. The ladies running the stand couldn't have been sweeter. They encouraged me to look at their social media pages for info about the food truck. These tamales are going to be a staple breakfast food on Saturday mornings at the farmers market, and I can't wait to try some other items on at food truck!

Just amazing. Tried some a few weeks ago at the Worthington farmers market. $4-5 each. Pork and veggie. The corn is apparently amazing but was sold out. Soft, moist and wrapped in what I think seemed like a banana leaf? Not sold in a truck this time but under a tent and it didn't matter. So delicious.

We leap out of bed on Saturday mornings to hit Columba's for pork tamales! My daughter inhales them as we stroll the Worthington Farmers Market. They are moist and tasty. Delicious with the mild salsa or plain. Highly recommend!

Wow! What a fantastic tamale! Coming from Texas I have pretty high standards for tamales, and this one definitely nailed it. The masa was the perfect texture- super creamy. I had the Poblano, and the chickpeas were great. Also nice that they have a few vegetarian optI will definitely be going back to try other flavors soon.

Tonight was my first time having Columba's and it definitely won't be my last! I had the burrito with steak and mild salsa and it was outstanding. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful- all the way down to the tortilla. Very happy to see that they visit the Clintonville farmers market as I am moving to the area next week!
