City Barbeque

Was lazy tonight, so we stopped by City BBQ. So good! Staff was friendly and provided great service as usual. Grabbed some chicken, some sauce and water, then chilled on their patio.The only thing I dislike is the contactless curbside pickup is directly adjacent to the patio so -- You get to eat a side of unwanted exhaust fumes.

I have picked up food here several times for parties and gatherings. They do a great job of assembling everything you could possibly need... And the food is excellent. Always a hit!

Very delicious salad with pulled pork. Had tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese and assorted greens and a hearty portion of pulled pork. I also had a order of hush puppies. Hubby ordered the same but had brisket instead, for a additional $3. Very yummy lunch and a covered patio.

I always leave City BBQ thinking it was just okay but wasn't offensive and this new location isn't much different. I recently tried something different as I've ordered the same thing for many many years and I regretted it. I tried the pulled chicken sandwich and was really let down by this. Firstly it was really wet and not from any kind of sauce. Like maybe it was pulled early in the day and sitting in broth or something to keep it warm, I'm not sure. I also didn't love the flavor and it didn't mesh well with BBQ sauce. I'll definitely be sticking to my pulled pork going forward, or the turkey which I've also tried and enjoyed. I also always forget I don't like their green beans so this is my note to myself - don't order the green beans, you don't like them. The fries and the mac and cheese are the best sides in my opinion. Their lemonade is a real winner but I miss when they used to have warm BBQ sauce at the condiment bar as well as pickles. I'm sure I'll keep having standard meals here but I've never been blown away.

We went in for a last minute catering and Carrol and Donna were amazing!!!!! They made sure to get what we needed!!!! Asked all the right questions!! Took the time and it showed !!! We had enough food and everyone enjoyed it!!!!! Shout out to Carrol and Donna.Nate and Amanda!

Great BBQ at a reasonable price and always spot on service. The half smoked chicken is always delicious, along with the brisket and pork. The sandwiches are also very good. The sides are amazing. Dining area is always clean and welcoming. The also have a small outside patio area. A must stop for good Ohio BBQ. Don't forget to get the pickles with your order.

Longtime customer first time in New Albany. CB has always been great and I'm happy they came out of Covid the same. Had my usual; leg/thigh, one side, and an Arnie Palmer. Everything was great, bright environment, and smiling staff. Thank you for your consistency!

I don't know what is happening at City BBQ, but the last few times we have been it was a big disappointment. Two weeks ago we went and I ordered their chicken tenders (first time), and French fries. It had been awhile since we ordered their fries--and what a change. They were frozen fries! They told me they had switched because it was easier for carry out-they stayed warmer?!?! Sounds like an excuse to go cheaper to me. They were bad enough for me to tell them I didn't want them. Such a shame, they were always good before. The chicken tenders, however, were great. My husband ate half my order. They were plump, juicy and pretty large. We went today for lunch and I had already decided to get the tenders again--they were awful. They were dry, small and over cooked. What happened in two weeks? Were the first ones a mistake because it was close to closing time? I won't order them again because I don't trust they will be good. From what I can see, the prices are going up and the quality is going down. They should stick to what they do--bbq, and forget the new tacos, etc. There are several other newer bbq places we have tried, and we will stick with them.

Dry, dry, dry! We ordered the party pack and wings. Pulled pork was good but brisket was dry. Mac and cheese was dried out and bland. The wings were pitiful...they were tiny and dry as a bone. Wasted $80...

City Barbecue food quality is not what it used to be. The service and ambience is still great though.
