Ciao Cafe

Ciao Cafe is my go to when I want something sweet. Their Gelato is amazing. They will always have their standard flavors but do bring in seasonal flavors as well. The pastries are also my go to. I like the long John's. Staff is friendly and passionate about their customers.

Have wanted to try this place for a while as I follow them on Instagram and everything looks so good! It is a cute cafe right in Downtown Delaware and offers some seating inside. They have house made gelatos, pastries, paninis, many drinks, and more. The girl at the counter was super sweet and answered all my questions and made some recommendations when I asked. We went with an iced sweet mocha, which was pretty good. They also sell pumpkin spice lattes and can basically make anything that's not on the menu either to your liking, which is great. I thought it was great that they offer cappuccinos, etc. Italian style.For food, we tried the cookies and cream gelato (small for $5.50, a bit pricey IMO), veggie panini ($10, totally shareable among two, best served after panini press), strawberry marscapone croissant ($6.50), custard filled donut (bombolino, found it to be extremely dry and custard was dried out too, did not finish), and tiramisu (small for $5, made in house, a staff favorite). I appreciated that they make their gelatos, there were several flavors to choose from and you can try before committing. I wanted a meat panini, but all the meat ones had pork in them, so opted for the veggie one, which was great flavor with the cheeses and pesto. The bombolino donut was a fail and the least liked item, I would not get it again. Perhaps, it was an older batch item? The tiramisu was great! I would head over for a sweet treat when nearby again.

The gelato was delicious! A stop on a road trip. We had been once before and sought out coming back. Was sad when yelp said closed on Mondays but so happy to when we walked by after lunch and saw it was open! Service was fast and friendly. Cute indoor or outdoor seating. Next time will try the crepes.

Always great service from the owners. Best gelato! Tonight I loved their support for Ukraine with their special flavor!Only unfortunate thing has been the discontinuation of the 8 sisters bakery products. 8 Sisters can no longer do wholesale so they had to switch to der dutchman which honestly just isn't as good. Threw away my blueberry fritter tonight which I never do. Hope they find a replacement soon.

So good! Perfect little cafe on the corner! Great portions and good prices! Great quick stop with the family after walking around Delaware. Workers are all super friendly!

I think this place is known for their gelato and coffee but I needed a quick lunch and saw the sign for "panini" - it was so good! Like, I realize this is just a sandwich but it really did taste like every ingredient was freshly made, like it does in Italy! They are cold in the case and then they toast it in their press and I did not expect so much flavor. Yum!

Wow! The taste is fantastic! This IS the best after dinner treat spot you'll probably find. Decent variety of flavors of Gelato, as well as other baked treats, too. Gourmet coffees are available also. Service was EXTREMELY friendly. They offer free sample tastes as well, in case you can't make a decision. They have a small dine in area, & a table or two outdoors. Prices are a little expensive on the gelato, but the rest is reasonably priced. If you're in this area, stop for a treat. You won't be disappointed!

The people that work here are just the best. They are always so friendly and welcoming. They are also generous about letting you sample gelato flavors before you make your choice. In addition to gelato, they have macarons, cake pops, pastries, coffee drinks, and crepes. It also looks like you can order custom cakes? Basically, a perfect stop for an after dinner treat!

Right downtown delaware is the Ciao café! They offer delicious Gelato, coffee and baked goods. My personal favorite are their nutella crêpes! The staff is nice, and put a lot of effort in their work. Their coffee is also delicious.
