Chinese Gourmet

I haven't lived in the area for over a decade and I'm still fondly thinking of this place. I would love some good General Tso, chicken with broccoli, and crab Rangoon right now. I live in a major city with probably two dozen Chinese options, plus Japanese, Thai, Korean, Mongolian, and Vietnamese. It's all horrible compared to China Gourmet.

Affordable food and I live behind them they are great with their fast service and nice staff

Thanks Patrick, your Yelp! Helped!Good food in the heart of small town USA. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan, it was very tasty with quality white meat. I enjoyed the Classic Country music! A good change from the local radio stations that think their funny & hip. Everything is served on styrofoam with the cheapest plastic ware. I am never a fan of that. If I'm eating in, give me a real plate & fork. They have only Pepsi products in cans or bottles. Boo.Street parking! Not a problem in McConnelsville. It will cost you 25 cents for 2 hours.

This is a great little place right on Main St. in McConnelsville. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. The property is clean and neat. Food is always well prepared, and a good value. Portions are nice sized too.

Another great experience at the Chinese Gourmet. Our goto meals are Happy Family and Dragon & Phoenix. For those who may not be aware, the use of plastic tableware and plates is not some environmentally careless choice made by the owners, it is a dictate of the county health inspector. This is a common occurrence in older food facilities under newer management (in every state of the union) - instead of spending $10K dollars for a dishwashing retrofit (because they don't have the right number and configuration of sinks and/or a dedicated dishwashing machine and gear installed, they are allowed to operate with a "no dishwashing" provision. This eliminates all items that would require suitable washing facilities - ceramic plates, metal tableware, teapots, ceramic cups, etc. Super friendly people with excellent food. All meats were high-quality and tender, all vegetables crips and delicious. We will undoubtedly keep going back as we have been, at least once a month for the foreseeable future.

This place is the best Chinese around. Please do not Believe the one star review they don't know what they're talking about.Everything's always hot and fresh and on time. We should consider ourselves lucky to have something different than Pizza in our small town.

I went on a road trip and passed by this. And ate here, it was very good. Definitely a recommendation!

Not even good. The rice was gummy. The sauce was very thick almost like a gravy. My chicken was cut into big thick pieces, not the typical bite size pieces. The chicken was rubbery. The flavor was bland. One of the worst chinese food experiences I have ever had.

Best chicken I have ever had and one combination plate has enough food that I end up having to save half of it for later because I can't eat all of it in one sitting the price compared to the amount is amazing
