We stayed here one night at the last minute. I'm pretty sure I called the office after hours and they were very kind and got us everything we needed for a late check in. This place is HUGE but you can't really tell until you start exploring. It's attached to what I believe is a skeet shooting range? Looks like they likely have huge events here. When we were there, it was peaceful, even with its proximity to the interstate and shooting range, and was perfect for an overnight stop. The bathhouse has individual unisex bathrooms, which were really nice!Cons: it took us forever to find a dumpster to throw away our trash, and our site was nowhere near level. Overall, we'd stay here again!

I stayed at this campground over the weekend for two nights, three days, and it was terrific. Even no your right by the highway, it's like you have stepped into another world. You don't hear the highway noise at all, and the scenery is beautiful. The staff is A+was nothing but helpful, accommodating, and good conversation. The pool is massive and clean, and the campsites were huge. You don't feel cramped or on top of each other so much to do here. Recommend and will be back. I was having trouble with my camper when we stayed had nothing to do with the campground, but I had to use the shower house, and they were big private bathrooms spotless keep it up Cardinal Center

Nice check in facilities, great indoor pool. Nice shower/bathroom facilities. There are a variety of spots, some wooded, others more open. Some spots are out of the way unless you are there for trap/shooting events. We did get a last minute spot next to a stinky gas well on a busy route, but that was my only gripe. We booked earlier the next 3 times! Nice activities with kids in our pre-covid stay.

Right off Rt. 71 in Marengo makes Cardinal and easy to get to, easy to find Campground. My family stays here a few times a year. A major sporting clay facility, you usually have the sounds of guns in the background. The noise is not terrible and you get used to the rhythm after a bit. The campground is beautiful. The camping spaces are large enough you don't feel like you are crowding your neighbor. There is an indoor pool for year round swimming. They have a playground for the kids, a pond to fish, a rec room to relax and watch TV. My favorite it the private shower rooms they offer! It is nice being able to lock a door and get ready for the day. The facilities are clean. The staff is friendly. It is a nice place to go for camping and to get away for a bit.

I didn't camp here. I shot Sporting Clays. They have 2 courses for sporting clays, I think two 5 stands and a ton - I mean the most in Ohio and probably anywhere nearby (assuming here) - of trap stations. My first time coming here it was hard to find the sporting clay course. Not a lot of signage. But eventually I did find it. I stumbled on Cardinal after they were having some living social deals online. The courses are set in the woods and each one is very different, clays coming from left to right and right to left, coming at you, going away from you, rabbits, WAY overhead, shooting from a tower, clays coming from a tower. It was was a blast (pun intended). Along each course there are fire barrels to warm up if your shooting in the winter so that is very nice. Each time I have gone (around 5 or so) it has not been very busy, I have never really had to wait unless it was with a large group I was with. They also have an automated clay shooting system where you can shoot solo if you wish. Very sophisticated. A person is able to rent a golf cart as well, personally I don't think that you need one, the most you walk is MAYBE a mile, maybe. I only wish it was a bit closer to Columbus, but 35-40 minutes isn't bad.

Very nice facility with camping for all, shade to full sun, tent to oversized RV. Kids like the pool and adults like the shot Gun Ranges. Convenience Stores and some limited restaurants are nearby. I71 is a stone throw away, so you do have constant highway buzz.

Excellent for a one night quick stop if there is not a shooting event scheduled. We are one night RV camping while driving through Ohio. Cardinal campgrounds are extremely clean. Gravel everywhere, no mud, grass freshly cut, trees trimmed, huge facility. All amenities (pool, horseshoes, showers, etc.) are closed since it's a Monday so don't expect to entertain the kids. It's almost empty. It's perfect for our one night RV stop. Ignore GPS directions when exiting and actually turn onto Highway 61 and there's a sign where you turn for Cardinal.
