Cap City Diner is one of our favorite restaurants - both for lunch and dinner. I've never been disappointed with a meal at Cap City Diner.Service is always great. Very professional and efficient. The staff is very personable. And the food is really, really good.My only disappointment is that they've dropped the Reuben sandwich from their menu. It was a lunchtime favorite. While I miss the Reuben, I still enjoy the fish and chips, the meatloaf (excellent) and other entrees.

It pains me to write this, but I'm genuinely shocked with our experience here tonight. We started coming here two years ago, and once we found it, it easily became one of my favorite go to spots to go to dinner with my husband especially on weekends nights where I don't want to cook. We used to come a lot! Then schedules got busy and we stopped going, but stars aligned tonight and we figured let's visit a place we love for dinner, so in we go to Cap City in Gahanna. It was pretty packed, but it always is which is fine with us. Plus it was restaurant week. Took us 20 mins to get seated which isn't so bad. Immediately as we sat down, I noticed the menu changed and condensed. Luckily most of our favorite items were kept on the menu, but it struck me as odd...maybe cutting down items for waste control and cost? Regardless, didn't bother us. We ordered our usual drinks, and pretzel and cheese. When I tell you I was shocked at how terrible the pretzel and cheese was...? For one the pretzel itself was definitely stale...whatever, but the cheese dip was so gross! There was this hard lumpy thing in there, and my husband forked it out...no idea what that was. It didn't seem like clumped up cheese or anything....that really put us off.In come our meals, chicken Milanese Caesar and fish and chips....the chicken tasted like it'd been sitting out in a warmer for a while, and the salad just seemed really quickly put together and not the usual care and attention it would normally get? Also the lettuce didn't seem as fresh. I was seriously disappointed. So two disappointing meals, one appetizer, and 2 cocktails...$100 night with tip...absolutely not worth it. The only part that is getting two stars for this experience is our service as our sever was very friendly and nice, checked on us often and was quick to bring anything. Otherwise, we will certainly not be back...much better places to spend $100 of our hard earned money. Just sad to admit it and see how downhill it's gone in two years, especially for a Cameron Mitchell restaurant.

Came for dinner with bunch of girlfriends and I ordered from the special Restaurant Week menu.Started with a very very small cup of tomato vegetable soup. I thought it wasn't enough to even serve! My entree was Romano chicken with tomato sauce and pasta. It was okay ( not as good as I remembered). Dessert was carrot cake which was delicious.Ambiance was very noisy and there was a breeze from a vent which was annoying.Server seemed stressed. When I went to pay she brought back my bill and requested a different credit card because there wasn't any numbers on it and the system wasn't taking it. It was my Apple credit card and there's a reason Apple doesn't put one on the card!! First time this ever happened to me!

Went here with two friends for a dinner. Its a cute diner theme. Has booths and tables. Not great for a big group of people but great for a group of 2-6. We ordered the meatloaf special x2 and a spinach salad with grilled shrimp. My friends weren't thrilled with their meatloaf... however, this is my son's favorite, go to thing to order here. I had the spinach salad and it was quite good and had a lot of shrimp. The presentation of it was odd salad one side shrimp the other. Also, I'm not a fan of shrimp that still has its tail on. I feel for a salad I shouldn't have to pull the tail off with my fingers for something that is on a salad. So with all that into consideration...Id say it was a 3.9 out of 5 stars.

Location is great within a huge shopping area, the inside with super cute was a large bar area with seating and large dining area. We went for a Birthday Dinner, make sure to get reservations. Food; I wanted to be a little different and ordered the Meatloaf, and wow it was so good. I am not even a huge meatloaf fan and it pleansantly surprised me. I would recommend trying it, it is stacked with mashed potatoes and yummy onion crisps. Adult beverage, I asked for a Chardonnay and told them my favorite ones, the server was spot on with his selection it was perfect. Service; The service is great, and looking forward to returning.

AMAZING!!!! Service, food, ambiance - everything was AMAZING! I would give Cap City overall a million stars if I could. GREAT gluten-free options too! (Also tree nut and peanut free options as well) I normally go to the Olentangy River Rd location, and I was so glad to see the Gahanna location is just a great! I always love their food, and their restaurant week deal was amazing! House salad to start, Ponzu glazed salmon, Reece's GF peanut butter cheesecake. For the appetizer, what I call "crack chips" - potato chips with Alfredo sauce and you HAVE to add bacon on top! Great to try for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I'd eat here every day if I could!

Down to earth eatery with amazing southern fried chicken - could I have a plate of just the breading please? We luck out with a fabulous server named Lloyd - he was personable and attentive. Oh and easy free parking.

Definitely get a reservation when going here. This place gets filled up quickly! When we went, I had the Pot Roast and my partner had a burger, fries, and milkshake. The Pot Roast was AMAZING. I would order that again in a heartbeat. The burger and fries were also great. The milkshake was HUGE. I also got a carrot cake at the end to take home that could easily feed 4 people. The portions are generous and it is appreciated. Our waiter was amazing, friendly, and super helpful and attentive.

It was Valentine's Day. I get it, but we had made a reservation six weeks prior. We had asked for a booth. Our reservation was for 4:30 pm. We still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. We were seated in a booth in the far back corner by the restrooms. Our server told us she only had three tables to wait on. After we received our meal she told the table next to us that they were offering a special of braised beef tips and shrimp. We were never given that offer and I definitely would have wanted that. The food was overcooked. Our check totaled $126 for the two of us. Very disappointing evening. We wished we had stayed home and cooked and saved our money.
