Lived in Cabot Cove for 4 years, dealt with a centipede infestation (these suckers were HUGE), ant, roach from the neighbors after they moved stirred something up. The ants were so bad they were in my daughter's crib and toy box. I never felt safe leaving my apartment at night for things like walking to the trash, dealt with MANY creepy men, I even installed an extra security latch on my door after one incident, had my cars broken into and my title stolen, had my screen busted out, had my doorknob to the front door unscrewed and laying on the ground and a maintenance man tell me they had the same call from another resident. I found bullet casings on the ground, used condoms, they built a dog park but no park for the many kids running loose (same kids would try to steal my daughter's toys off my porch), no bathroom at the pool so you can guess where everyone is peeing and they over-chlorinate it to make up for all the piss, the pool water will leave you dry and itchy because of the chemicals EVEN AFTER SHOWERING, my neighbor had a swastika drawn on his apartment, another one of my neighbors was selling pills... I would hear their phone conversations and the random people coming at all hours... their last residence was condemned over drug trafficking, they had a homeless family member who'd sit in his wheelchair and fall asleep on the sidewalk, he'd cuss OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME loud enough you'd have to close your windows, he'd dig through the trashcans. I had a neighbor come up to me and ask if I knew where to buy weed from. Nobody adheres to the speed limit in the neighborhood. I'd walk with my daughter every day so I observed a lot, I was almost hit a lot too from the speeding. I'd have to close my windows because the weed smell outside at night would give me a headache/make me nauseous. The apartment's themselves are rundown, I had several leaks causing black mold and they sent someone to just paint over the shit but never fixed it. I had a neighbor who was evicted because she would verbally assault me about my appearance and weight after having my baby and it all started over her unleashed German shepherd, she threatened us with a gun, got into my face while I was holding my 5 month old, her daughter and teenage boys in the neighborhood would throw a basketball at my upstairs window while I was 7 months pregnant and trying to sleep, they'd knock and runaway. I had packages stolen. The leasing office women are rude as f and the maintenance guys were aholes, super lazy too, I had one come into my apartment for 30 plus minutes (caught the times on my security camera) and didn't fix a damn thing on my list but changed a light bulb ??? I also had one who was in my apartment """fixing""" a leak (the floor fell threw) above my washer and dryer underneath the bathtub, I went into the bedroom with the door cracked and instead of him shouting he'd be back HE STUCK HIS HEAD INTO THE CRACK WHILE I WAS LAYING IN MY BED AND LOOKED AT ME TO TELL ME WITH NO KNOCK !!! I had a bat flying around my apartment and they told me it wasn't an after hours emergency, my neighbor had an infestation of bats, at night you could hear rodents running in between the floors and walls, the late fee for rent increased from 25 to 50 and when I moved in I was paying 890 give or take and when I left it we like 1,200 but no improvements had been made. The insulation was SO BAD the downstairs would be freezing but the upstairs you'd burn up! I had to run my air on 67 to keep the bedroom upstairs 73 degrees, the weather stripping for the door was always an issue. I would of never moved in if I would of been given time to think about it but was told I had to decide right then and there or else the unit would be gone and I was desperate at the time. Don't even get me started on the paint job and construction !! OH one time Cabot Cove blocked my old Facebook while I was discussing issues with another resident over a review LOL what else??? I had a neighbor move because he was approached by 7 other neighbors from the same "religious group" with knives.

I am very disappointed in the treatment by management I received at Cabot Cove. They keep the grounds looking nice and I never felt unsafe in the area but for the reasons I state below I decided to move out at the end of my lease. I wish I would have looked harder for reviews on Cabot Cove before I signed the lease. Below is just some of my issues experienced. When I arrived to pick up my keys the staff who helped me adamantly informed me that if an issue arises at the pool I should not call them but "call the police" because "I" can do the same thing as the office staff can do. I later learned that the pool was rowdy and overcrowded and I heard many complaints from neighbors. The sidewalk on my side of the apartment had sunk and flooded, potentially for hours, at each rain. My walk was either a sheet of ice or muddy mess because of the lack of drainage. I visited the office several times with pictures of the flood and finally a copy of city code ordinance. After months they fixed the drain but it was often plugged with debris and/or frozen shut. During a particularly icy time (due to drainage) they told me I could salt but they would not. The condition of the sidewalk made being on crutches even more difficult and dangerous.I was disabled during my first 2 1/2 months of occupancy and not able to walk or drive. During this time my water heater broke and flooded my downstairs closet and spread out into my living room. Maintenance informed me they were not allowed to move my possessions (out of the flood). I requested a fan, more than once, to aid in drying which they did not provide. They punched a hole in the wall to aid in drying. It stunk for days. When I asked the office about my ruioned possessions there response was "Don't you have insurance". I paid for a garage primarily for storage. Since it rained on moving day the sidewalk flooded and a lot of possessions were stored in my garage. Well, my garage roof leaked and a lot of my stored property was ruioned. It continued to leak during my entire lease- from the same roof area and under the garage door due to placement of the downspout. I provided many pictures to the office. When I commented that I was tired of getting my possessions runioned they said again "Don't you have insurance". When I wanted to move out early due to continual flooding they threatened to fine me.This is not an all-inclusive list of issues I experienced or that which I know happed to my neighbors. This community was a nightmare.

I have now lived here almost a year now, love the convenience of the location. The office staff are very attentive, and professional. The property manager really seems to care about the property. The grounds always look amazing. Even in the winter they shovel the snow up to our front doors! I am very happy here and plan to resign another lease.

Yes it's really as bad as some of the reviews and if I could give Cabot Cove a minus I would. I lived here for 14 months and had nothing but a list of random problems. You would not believe me if I listed all of just my unit problems and included my correspondence with the management company. They had a real 'not our problem' attitude even though they were in violation of the law/code on a couple issues. The complex looks nice but remember you do not see what is below the surface during a quick tour.

During a Labor Day weekend. I took my dog out for a walk. It was around 9 pm and the office was closed. I got locked out of my apartment because a "latch" had been latched. I called the emergency number and was told that this was not considered an emergency that maintenance comes out for. I had to wait until the office reopened on Monday. (3 days later). I had to call a locksmith to undo a hotel latch that later I found out was illegal on my apartment door. Long story short, I received an eviction note because I did not pay all my rent because I submitted the locksmith bill to them. When the management company finally called me they told me that the leasing agent lied to me and she had been replaced. This latch was on my door when I moved in and the management company said it should not have been on the door in the first place. (Admission of guilt). But I was responsible for all fees accrued. After leaving a Google review, Oakwood Management offered me $50 off my next month's rent if I took it down. I declined. I wanted my $280 back that I spent on a locksmith. They declined.I will never rent from an Oakwood Management property again. There are a ton in the Columbus, OH area!

Do not live here, staff is unhelpful rude and fee happy on anything they can be. First month and a half we moved in we battled roaches every day, no break on rent and they treated us as though we brought them there. Maintenance enters apartment whenever with no advance notice and they trampled some of my stuff. Received several letters threatening fine if I didn't take my bird feeder down... any time you try and discuss any of this with management they are rude as can be and no help at all. icing on the cake was the late fees - account has been on auto pay for over a year out of no where I get a late fee notice, before I have time to react and pay I get another late fee. I buck up and pay it all to make my account current, look the next day and what do you know...ANOTHER LATE FEE. Try to talk with management and there's "nothing they can do, part of the system". this place is a joke. Neighbor got pink eye from the pool to boot!
