"Marcus and his team run a top notch gym! My wife and I dropped in this weekend. I've been CrossFitting for over 12 years and can honestly say that this is one of the best gyms in the country.. and I've been to dozens. Marcus has an incredible attention to detail that makes this a fun and safe environment for all to achieve their fitness goals. We'll be back!"
"So I drove over 55 mins to come to the splash pad behind the ymca center. Let me tell you it was well worth it!!! When we first arrived the kids was really excited and couldn't wait to get out off the car! The water park is big enough for you to run around and play with your kids and everyone else's kids. Theirs plenty of seating areas and theirs a little concession stand. The place is Dinosaur themed and its perfect for kids that love dinosaurs. Theirs Dino prints in the concrete and theres a huge Dino slide, also the park is all turf so no rocks or mulch to worry about. But if its a really hot day the park will sting their little feets and bottoms. I recommend bringing plenty of bottled water to pour on the slide and their feet as they walk around or bring swimming shoes for the kids to run around. Great place to exhaust the little one out!!! The ymca also has a play area inside also but for a family rate of $26 you can swim inside."
"My absolute favorite place to go workout! Never crowded and always good energy. The trainers are the best in the city and they helped me achieve my ideal weight and keep it off! If you're looking for convenient and professional this is your place!"
"This is a pretty cool gym. Everyone is friendly and helpful here, and there's nearly every piece of equipment you'd ever need to get fit. Like the other Metro Fitness centers, this place has two separate rooms for lifting. There's the main area with lighter weights, and then there's the heavy room with many pieces of equipment for serious lifters - chains, trap bars, extra heavy plates - you name it. Another plus is the dumbbells, which go up to 200 lbs. I've been in other places where they limit the dumbbell weight to 120 lbs.Speaking of equipment, there's plenty of it, so even when the place is packed it's easy to find something to work with."
"The Spot Athletics is in no way your regular gym. If you are looking for a bunch of treadmills and stationary bikes you are not looking at the right place. If you are looking for athletic training and serious about getting into shape then this is the place for you. I'll be 100% honest you will be pushed and you will ache and be sore but the result are worth it. The staff is amazing they truly know what they are doing they will guide you the whole way through on how to properly lift and use the equipment. They stress form not only for results but for safety. Age and current fitness is no excuse I started here at 44 years old and almost 300 lbs and I see clients who are in their 60's and some as young as 8 maybe 9 years old. I have not only witnesses my own transformation but that of many others. If you choose to come to The Spot Athletics you won't regret it however you might be a little sore but hey like they say no pain no gain."
"Awesome gym! Kim creates a personal training course to help you meet your goals. She is so supportive and knowledgeable. so grateful I found this place!"
"Let it be known that this YMCA is a work in progress... they are soon expanding to a new location and upgrading EVERYTHING.For now though, a decent sized, basic hometown gym. It's hard to argue with the low membership prices- lower than most YMCA's due to the fact this location does not have as large of an upkeep (no pool, no courts, etc). Check out their website for information on their membership prices.. for my family of five's membership it was under $50 a month total, not too bad.Upon entering the gym, there is a check-in desk staffed with friendly faces to the right and a small locker and coat hanger section set apart to the left. The gym is SMALL, so be warned. The picture on the website is not what the gym looks like. The picture makes the gym look decently sized but in reality, it is very small. There is nothing wrong with the cardio selection. Plenty of TVs available to watch while running, using the elliptical, biking, etc. The weights however... could be better. The free weights aren't bad, there is a decent selection. During busy times, it's pretty impossible to find an empty bench anywhere. There are two squat racks, a decent amount of assisted machines, and a mirror as well. There is a door leading to the bathrooms (not pristine by any means) and the open "track". I use this term loosely because there is an outline of a walking track in this warehouse section. There are two random basketball hoops, one of which I would never bother touching, the other a playground hoop which is tolerable to play on.I'm excited to see what the new location has in store."
"I absolutely love Jen's workout classes. She has so much energy! I always leave her classes in a better mood than when I went in. She strikes a great balance between cardio and strength. I can tell that it's a great cardio workout because of my breath pace, but I also feel a little sore the next morning, which means my muscles got a good workout too!Jen is also great about giving modifications for exercises. For example, she often announces a more strenuous and more moderate way to do an exercise so that all levels of fitness can work for her classes. She is great when it comes to injury prevention. She regularly announces where we should be feeling the focus of an exercise on our bodies and tells us how to change our posture or position to avoid feeling tension in our back or knees. Check out one of her classes - you won't regret it!"
"I recently started going to Power Shack and it's an efficient gym with plenty of weights and cardio options. The staff is always kind and greets me when I walk in and when I walk out.Every time I've been there I've seen the staff do extra cleaning on all of the equipments which makes me feel more safe coming. This location has a studio with mirrors, which is nice for warm ups, cool downs, or doing your workouts in. There are weights and mats too!"
"I started Bungee in March 2023, just one class a week. It's became addicting. I'm doing 3 classes a week in the bungee which are Level 1, Level 2 and bungee burn. Not to mention the semi personal weight class I do 2 x's a week. Natalie and all the instructor's have the same goal.... Have fun, learn to workout with the bungee which gives you an amazing workout. Meet people that all have great workout goals. The positive energy, that comes with Firefly bungee fitness it's just amazing. Firefly gives you a great small workout feeling as well. Come "Fly" with Firefly Bungee!"
"We went to a birthday party here for a 4 year old in the middle of winter. It was a really great experience! The gym space is huge with tons of stuff to do. There's minimal supervision provided so parents have to stay up and active and CLOSE to kids, but at 4 that's expected. The kids had an absolute blast! I would highly, highly recommend this for a birthday party for the kindergarden/preschool set - so many things to do, so much room to run, dance, climb, bounce, play - and probably the highlight, they got to run and jump and dive into a massive, deep foam pit... and then clamber out and do it all over again. It was a really, really good time.Gym X-Treme also has Open Gym on Friday nights 8-10 pm and on a few weekdays for kids and parents to come check it out and get their play on. One caveat, this is NOT the place to come and let your kid to go off and play while you sit on the sidelines on your phone. You will need to help your kid and/or supervise pretty closely - there's a ton of equipment and some they will definitely need help with. Also, adults can do a lot of playing along with the kids here - everything is built for adults so feel free to bounce, jump, climb, dive along with the little ones!! For the active parent and child, this is a super fun time and after playing here for two hours, my daughter crashed earlier than she's ever gone to bed in her life. ;) So, really a win for all.Have fun!"

The Delaware YMCA is getting a two star review for lying to the customer. I recently joined the Y in December. I was a few months under the age limit before the rate increases. When signing up I was told by Amy that I would receive the lower rate for the entire year. Now two months after my birthday, I got an email saying membership rate will increase. Amy now has no recollection of saying the rate would remain the same, and management was not helpful either. Amy has been with the Y for a while and should know not to misinform a customer. After speaking with another member, they also told me the Y increased their rate from what was originally quoted. This rate was not related to an age increase for this memeber. The Y facility itself is well maintained. It is a lot cleaner than other facilities I have visited. The group classes are a good way to get a full work out in. The instructors are friendly. The pool is fun, although it feels like it is freezing all the time. The Y is a good place to workout if you don't mind maybe getting lied to about rates.

The membership cost is very reasonable here, about $25-$30 per month as of the date I signed up a few months ago. There's no contracts or any commitments here, so you're free to try it out without being trapped for years. Luke the guy at the front desk is informative and knows everyone by name. The gym is about the size of a warehouse filled with different machines and a wide selection of weights. They have turf and truck tires I believe as well. The Men's locker room just recently updated their lockers and has showers. Afterwards, you can purchase products from their little lounge room with couches and a TV and chill out. That's all great, but the BEST part about this gym that really makes it stand out from others in the area is that they have a "heavy room". You can lift heavy with lots of plates or hugeass dumbbells that go up to up to like 200 lbs or something crazy, and you don't have to worry about your noise level here while blasting your Heavy Metal on their speaker. I think it's great they have a separate room for hardcore lifters that way it doesn't disturb the others, since this seems to be a big conflict at a lot of gyms. There's a few gyms in the area and this one is the one you make real progress at.

Pros: not a typical gym! A trainer is with you every session. Great workouts. Variety of classes. Several trainers. Knowledgeable staff. Very friendly and down to earth. Affordable. Free 30 day trial! Cons: schedule is wonky. Review: I found this place many months ago and signed up. I loved my 30 day trial, but being a mom of 4, finding a good time to go is super hard. I either have to go at 5am or at 7pm. I have a 10 month old and 3 older kids who are in school. Even if I have someone to stay with the baby in the afternoon, The Spot is closed. There is a large gap of time in the middle of the day that the gym isn't open to the public, which really hurts my ability to go. I am going to suspend my membership because of that reason alone. But if you can make the schedule work, this place is the best I've found!

This location has come a long way. The building received major work during 2020 and the equipment was upgraded this summer. I love the fitness challenges that are offered a few times a year. I have also used the personal trainer program. The location has recently opened 24/7 so that has been great as well. Group fitness classes are ok. I wish there was more available. Especially on the weekend.

"Awesome environment to try CrossFit. Priority is on safety and having fun, not too competitive or intimidating for new people at all. The facility is top notch in terms of equipment too!"
"Individual attention and functional movement seem to be the focus of this gym. I've gone for about nine months and really enjoy it."
"I love this place! The coaches are very attentive and make the workouts fun even when it's something terrible like sled pushes. All of the coaches are amazing but Ben's positive attitude and encouragement make me want to work out."
"Clang and bang gym. This gym is amazing. It is no frills, everything functional. I am in town for an interview to be an ER doctor and part of my interview routine everywhere I go is to find a good local gym. This place hit the money! 11 squat racks!? Also a bunch of deadlift platforms. A couple sets of everything else you could want. There were tires, chains, bands, tons of plates, bumper plates, plenty of chalk, clean bathrooms, beautiful brick setting. This is just a rugged, gritty tru clang and bang kind of gym. If you want to get a solid workout in, this is definitely the place. Also, when I came in, the owner, Rich, told me all about the place, gave me a tour and was very accommodating. 100% good vibes at this place."
"Brand new fitness center right on 79 next to JoAnns store. They are running specials right now so if you're looking for a place to work out I would definitely check this place out. The people here are exceptional, very helpful, they know their fitness! They have a ton of machines and will walk you through each one to show you how it works and what your weight should be. They are adding classes soon. They even have a room for kids & a masseuse! Soon they will have the tanning beds going too. A lot of bang for your buck here. Great location. Not like the big name places with too many people looking to hook up (ugh!). Honestly I don't like working out & so I hired Roy Price as a personal trainer, and it's been the best investment. Ive lost 12 inches overall in 4 months. 3 off the waist. My health is very important to me & I feel stronger than ever with great energy. Be good to yourself & check this place out."
"I am definitely one of those people who use groupon to find new workouts I enjoy. I was hesitant to try cross fit because lifting weights for me consisted of 5-15 lb. dumbbells. A friend asked me to join her since there was a deal and after my Groupon ended, I've been a member since. Some may think it's pricey but if you calculate the cost per class and think of it as a personal training session, it's more than reasonable. There's an improvement in my strength and the coaches are kind and helpful. If you don't know if your form is ok, they will correct you especially if you ask for guidance. I am not a morning person and I have been fairly consistent with attending morning classes. I think that says a lot about the gym, coaches and workouts. It's rough but a great way to start the day. I schedule classes using the wodify app which has been easier and more informative than other scheduling apps I've used. Last but not least, the new location is huge and parking isn't a problem during those morning classes (at this time). The equipment is organized and it's fairly clean for a warehouse space."
"One of the best group training there is. Team atmosphere, everyone is out to help each other. Mark has a core value of performing correct technique, more than just moving weight around. Mark believe in fitness for life members range in age 15-65+. And has clients that's been with him 12+ years. Mark will help you with any physical problems you have and help modify the right workout for your need. But don't get him wrong he will push you to the max."
"I started working out with Latanya of Forever Free Fitness several months ago when I was coming out of a low place because of health and loss of family members. In order to get back to the level of overall fitness and activity I was used to and achieve new goals, I needed someone who was energetic, motivating and supportive! I was also looking for someone who modeled the services they provide yet, could meet me at my level to start and encourage me even when I am not confident in own ability. I found all of that with Latanya and FFF, whose focus is women over 40, but open to anyone who wants to improve their fitness. The one-on-one weight training, small group workouts and Saturday morning cardio sets are fun even when they are no nonsense and push you. I still have a long way to go, but because of Latanya's expertise and coaching, I already have improvement in my endurance and strength as well as in my body tone, and muscle definition. She also offers nutritional counseling. I highly recommend Latanya and the new fitness center she will soon be opening."
"I hate the gym.It isn't their fault. I just hate working out and being at gyms in general. But, since finding Go Fitness I can at least say that I DO now go to a gym. Memberships run around $40 a month (they have a few options). With a basic membership you get access to tier 1 & 2 classes for free -- think yoga, conditioning aerobics, things like that. You can pay for passes to the tougher classes like spinning. Plus, with each membership you get a free 30 minute session once a month with a trainer to do whatever you'd like. You can have a workout, figure out a nutritional plan with them, get a body measurement & analysis, learn how to properly use foam rollers for stretching, etc. They also offer specials, education sessions and fun activities throughout the month so you can always switch things up and keep it interesting. I started out with a basic membership and still had a tough time motivating myself to go even though the small, casual atmosphere is much less intimidating than one of those big-box gyms. So, I bit the bullet and opted for a Personal Trainer. This definitely multiplies my monthly cost, but it has been well worth it. My trainer is able to keep me accountable and it's perfect for me because I can just mentally black out while I'm there and do whatever he tells me to do. The gym itself is relatively small, with a cardio room (15 machines maybe?), weight/strength training room and a back room that is used for classes but can also be used during off times. But, even on busier days, every time I've been there I've been able to use exactly what I wanted. They even have a little smoothie station at the front desk (I have yet to try).Nothing is shiny or new anymore and admittedly it could use a bit of a deep clean. But, for the first time in my adult life I have found a gym (and a trainer) that keeps me coming back. And that is quite a feat. P.S. If you're interested in joining, go visit before purchasing the Yelp deal. When I joined, their sign-up benefits were better than the Yelp offer and I wasn't able to use both. Luckily Yelp refunded me!"
"I visited Resolve Fitness for the first time while I'm Columbus for the weekend. The gym offers a variety of classes and all of the proper equipment for a solid workout. The facility is clean and well maintained. The trainers are experienced, motivating, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They take the time to teach proper techniques, ensuring you get the most out of your workout while staying safe."
"This is an awesome 24 hr gym with everything you could possibly need for a good workout. Friendly to powerlifters, CrossFitter, or just your everyday person. The gym is also kept very clean. The owner was extremely accommodating for guest coming from out of town. Definitely will be back the next time I'm in Columbus."
"I absolutely LOVE this gym and am so grateful to have found it! Not only am I saying bye-bye to quarantine pounds, but I feel better mentally and love being able to connect with like minded people in the community. Cost is more than reasonable and love that they have family rates. Tons of scheduled classes to choose from end the infrared sauna is totally helping me beat the winter blues. The gym is always spotless with plenty of sanitizing materials available. BONUS factor is Cassandra for massage. She's knowledgeable, affordable, friendly and skilled in sports massage."
"Tremendous! I've been working with Frankie after a series of injuries and planned surgery. I have limited ROM and balance issues as well as a bit of weight gain/muscle loss due to rehab. This studio has been a game changer for me, my flexibility, balance, and confidence. Everyone at this studio is so kind and welcoming and lovely. I've been able to get back to my regular gym with confidence and the Pilates sessions add to my ability to participate in regular things like hiking and walking for miles without worry. I've learned so much about my small muscles and the difference a lot of focus can make on success. Frankie is very patient with me as I grow into my love for Pilates. This is a commitment I'm making for myself for life - because it's that good. LOVE this studio!"
"Emily is the best trainer on the planet. I never thought I'd actually enjoy a workout, but it's awesome to be pushed to the brink without it being too much. I was worried I wouldn't keep up with a training regimen, but Emily has made it easy! The gym itself is very clean and has a ton of different equipment. Almost anything you could want for a workout, they have. The pricing is comparable to similar gyms in the area. A little more expensive than say, Planet Fitness, but to me, it's worth it."
"What a disappointment. When I joined Planet Fitness over a year ago it was clean and the employees were always busy and attentive. Within the last few months trash cans are full, tanning beds are not cleaned well (I clean them myself before use now), paper towels to clean equipment are not stocked or the rolls are just sitting on the trash cans. The staff is lazy. They are always on their phones when clearly there are areas needing attention around the gym not to mention I stood at the desk waiting while an employee had their back to me doing whatever on their phone. The camera must not work above the check in counter either that or never looked at by management because if it were and management cared they would see the staff are neglecting their duties by being constantly on their phones and not taking care of the gym. Because I have enjoyed Planet Fitness until recently I have remained hopeful that things will change however the gym across the road is beginning to look better and better. Come on Planet Fitness do better."
"Hands down the best gym I have ever been too. I lost almost 20 inches in 3 months. Gradual, sustainable, noticeable, and fun. Always a good workout every class, I never felt intimidated. Elija and Brynn are such great trainers and make sure you're using the correct weight and form as well as changing it up every class. Also this company is the best at making sure you have easy access to all the tools you need to be successful in you're fitness journey such as; Facebook feeds, DNA fit testing, accountable inspirational texts, and phone applications that keep track of your success, weight, inches, recipes, articles, dining out cheat sheets and so much more. Very reasonably priced, and the class times work with any work schedule. Definitely try it out! I recently moved to Pittsburgh and wish I could take this class and trainers with me, but at least I can take some of the things they taught me to make my own workouts for a while! Give it a shot and invest in yourself you will be so pleased with your results!"
"Finally! A workout I look forward to! All the instructors are very helpful and encouraging. You can modify the exercises to fit you, whether you need to ease up or want to challenge yourself. I've been going here for over a year and don't have one negative thing to say."
