"I am so glad we found this local cantina! The interior vibe is very "dive bar" but with classical music in the background. The walls are covered with exciting eye candy and the menu has all the Mexican must eats.They have their house made "Baby Spice" hot sauce that they sell and lemme tell you, it tastes like: mild sauce met citrus. It's fantastic. I am visiting from California and had wanted to take a bottle home, but sadly, they are out of stock. Thankfully, they are giving us two containers to take back to our hotel! Yippee! We ordered a smothered burrito to share (red chili pork) and it's delicious! Perfect size to share with someone if you don't want to end up with a takeaway container.Service was extremely friendly and helpful and invited us back tonight after 9pm for the $2.22 tacos (Thursday only) and all day on Tuesday specials. Thank you Savannah for all your help with the menu and encouraging us to call other locations to see if we can get a bottle of the sauce to pack in our suitcase! We just might have to come back to watch the Celtics game"

The deal is unbelievable!You also have access to unlimited chips and salsa so if chips and cheap booze are what you're after, you'll be happy. The chips are always fresh and the salsa has the perfect amount of spice. I had the grilled fish, chicken tinga and carne asada tacos. They were all delicious! The meat was tender and the vegetables were fresh!Service was fast and friendly and I highly recommend Local Cantina during happy hour and on Taco Tuesday."

"I placed a large order for my coworkers a month ago and was able to get enough points for a free taco salad. I redeemed it on the way for asap pick up and they did not disappoint. I arrived and the place was not busy. I let the host know I had a pick up with my name and it was already available within 10 minutes. I did have issues redeeming the free queso and the manager checked my app and saw the issue and still provided it to me with no hesitation. I got home and everything was hot and fresh. The size of the Taco salad is enough for a afew meals and maybe even 3 people. The chicken is seasoned and very delicious! Will definitely be back for dine in soon."

"I'd never been to Yabo's Tacos before but we had some time so I stopped in to check it out. I ordered 2 Carolina Pork tacos- see the pic, and they were better than I imagined. See, I'm more of a traditional taco guy and have grown to like the soft tacos over time, but I've been hesitant to try other items I side besides ground beef.The BBQ pork was so good, not too saucy and very good proportions. Then add in the slaw on top... yum!! They had a nice bar on the side and lots of TVs and trivia screens as well to entertain you.Great place that I will be back to visit!!!"

"I've been here for lunch a couple of times, been happy with both visits...I'll keep this simple:* Portions are generous * Prices are fair * Chips and salsa are complimentary * A pint of beer is only $5.99If you like savory Tex-Mex comfort food, you'll probably like this place. It's nothing fancy, but nice enough for the average person. I've always been very happy with their service and the food has always been just fine.I've ordered two different dishes so far and both were very good. The Lunch Combo #9 ($9.49) is a combo platter and it's an excellent value. You get one each: taco, burrito and an enchilada. *By the way, you can opt for American or Mexican style tacos. The Fajita Lunch Special #14 ($9.29) is really more like a dinner sized portion so expect to be real full when you are done. I've posted photos so you can get a look at what you'd get.It's a pretty solid place all in all and it won't tear a hole in your wallet.4 Stars."

"Accidentally stumbled upon this really tiny Columbus gem while in the area for a suit turned into a really pleasant surprise. Wanted a quick bite for lunch, walked in and felt like I stepped back in time! I took a seat to review the menu and could tell there was so much history on the walls! The business has been serving since 1968, which was really impressive to stay open that long especially for a small restaurant such as this. Up front, we were greeted by a really pleasant older gentleman who I believe has worked there for over 30 years. We ordered the coneys, and they tasted just like I'd imagine homemade coneys would - simply tasty! We couldn't get over how nice and positive the gentleman was, and my fiance wants me to mention in this review that she wants to put the cute older guy in her pocket and carry him around. The guy even snuck us some oatmeal cookies. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little mom and pop gem. Would definitely be pack next time I'm in the area!"

"The biggest blessing for me is knowing that they now exist on my side of town vs the Sawmill Road location (which is a great place to visit). Well, not exactly my side of town, but at least it's the east side. It was an even greater treat to discover that one of the managers came over from that location. And he instantly recognized us from a surprise party that he helped me coordinate 5 years ago!Chili's has been one of my favorite restaurants since I first moved here back in 2000. They have a better assortment of great tasting food (in my opinion), which is great if you like to try something new during each visit.And that Lava Cake -- dude. God knows I shouldn't be eating that after a full meal, but I'd be depriving myself of true happiness if I didn't get it.I also need to give "plus" points for an awesome staff who, despite the pandemic and a shortage of servers, frequented our table to ensure that our dining experience was a pleasant one each of our 4 visits!"

"We had no idea that a Local Cantina opened up in UA across from Lane Ave Shops. We were looking for a place to help pass some time waiting on a friend to get home from work.We happened to spot Local Cantina while driving through the parking lot of the shops. It was like a beacon calling to us. We quickly parked and then we not so safely ran across the street.There were only a handful of people in the restaurant. We slid into two seats at the bar. We asked if they had a happy hour and we were thrilled to find out that they offered $4 drafts from 4-6pm. We ordered up two pints and then grabbed some serve yourself chips and salsa.As we enjoyed our beer we got a chance to chat with the bartender. This particular Local Cantina is opened for lunch (the Grandview location is not). They are rather slow during lunch right now, so if you are hungry for tacos during the lunch hours, stop into Local Cantina! Free chips & salsa and amazing tacos! There, that is my PSA for the day.We love Local Cantina's tacos, so we couldn't help ourselves, we ordered up 4 tacos. The roasted carnitas (weezy style - soft flour and hard corn shell with queso & guac for $1 more), Nashville hot chicken, carne asada, and Hong Kong Phooey.I'll be honest, I'm not sure getting the roasted carnitas done weezy style was necessary. Each time I get that taco, I keep thinking, it just needs a little something more, so I tried paying a buck more, and really it wasn't necessary, it didn't improve the taco anymore for me. I like the taco, I just don't love it. On the other hand, it was the first time ever trying the Hong Kong Phooey and it was amazing!!!! A party in my mouth! So flavorful and yet balanced with the heat of the sriracha and the sweetness of the teriyaki. That taco and the Nashville Hot Chicken taco were amazing!!!! Something always makes us happy when we go to Local Cantina.Check them out in UA, during lunch would be even better!"

"FINALLY!!I've been watching this Local Cantina's build-up from the bulldozed ground, and their 4 month long setback was quite a bummer. I'm not sure what was the delay, but I am glad they finally opened last week. It's a cute spot on the ground floor of an apartment building - it's small, but this is the first LC on the far southeast side of town - so close to home, so I'm elated!We called for pick-up; ordered with the gentleman over the phone, which was efficient. Heads up: $2 Taco Tuesday is only for dine-in (duh Gwen!). Inside and their patio areas were both filled, a good sign of customer retention. The bar staff did a good job keeping to-go orders flowing from the back kitchen. I got four tacos - Grilled Chicken, Roasted Canitas, BLT, and Grilled Fish. All four of mine were cold soft shells, and even the guts were not warm. The tacos were decent - sustenance - but not what I'm use to. I'll definitely chalk it up to new opening jitters, and give them the benefit of doubt; time will tell. I love Local Cantina, one of my fav contemporary Mexican restaurants around town. That fourth star is for branching out - outside of the normal hugging-270-norm. Welcome to Canal, LC!"
