"You may miss the building if you don't know exactly where it is. It's a small black building with a small interior. Small banner out front with a neon OPEN sign. We waited maybe 10 minutes for 4 Meals. Food was hot and the AROMA may have you eating in the car immediately. We ordered The Curry chicken as well as the Jerk chicken with a slice of their indulgent Carrot Cake. All large meals come with sides of Cabbage & Rice. I have nothing negative, just this place needs an update! Maybe somewhere to dine in and eat your meal. This Caribbean Cuisine is worth a try and I will be back to try more entrees and desserts!"

Specifically, Amina's Fish has been a staple in the Mount Vernon area.I ordered the catfish dinner (Mac & Cheese and Cabbage/Greens Mix), hush puppies, and fried okra. The food was amazing! I had a pleasure of supporting a local business that has done amazing during COVID-19."

Snapshots isn't a MUST eat kinda spot, but you're in the area and taking someone out to eat or meet up with some friends or family the food and ambience will not disappoint. The Cuban Pork sandwich was really good, dripping with juice and flavor. The Clam Chowder (soup of the day) was also light in consistency but the flavor was awesome. I would definitely go again if I was ever in the area."

"Oh CJ's how you fill my heart with joy. The soul roll is Probably one of the best things I've put in my mouth this year (pause). nah fr tho they do a lot of things really really well here, the soul rolls are elite just rich and delicious stuffed with Mac and cheese, greens, yam & smoked turkey with a sweet little drizzle! The Fried chicken/wigs goodgawd seasoned to the bone, crispy crunchy juicy. The catfish is legitimately the best catfish I've ever eaten. Period. Cornbread is buttery and moist. The Mac and cheese is top tier also has a Cajun vibe to it, it's a creamy Mac not a cheese pull Mac if you catch my drift. All the dang food is good. Ambiance is a personal choice they do live bands and DJ's and whatnot I personally was vibing and was pretty much bobbing my head the entire time while eating my food but the wifey thought it was too load, probably because she wanted to talk the entire time but ya know, god is good. lol. The have amazing murals of some African American legends all over the walls Kobe, prince, Aretha, Bernie, Aliyah and many other greats that have passed. Service was aight, drink ran out never got refilled but whatever, was a little slow on food coming out but we did order like $140+ worth of food. Now for a controversial topic, automatic 18% gratuity and $5 per person for the DJ and or band that's preforming. I'm on the I really don't care side of things but I can see it running people the wrong way. It's also not my first time being here so I already knew what it was. All in all tho I love this place. 8.9 out of 10"

"Hey y'all!! I'm pretty sure my pictures look kinda sus and aren't really giving this meal it's due diligence but hear me out. It was actually delicious....well...I have some notes: One: Do Not order off UberEats! ( they dropping off everybody and their momma meals before yours). Which is extremely irritating when by the time you get your meal it's a cool room temperature. Anywho i digress, what I loved about this meal was how flavorful and seasoned everything was. But my biggest gripe were those freaking mashed potatoes. You can always tell who is using powdered mashed potatoes and who isn't. It just don't hit the same. Everything else *chefs kiss* Aye that catfish though! Amazing! Compliments to the chef! -Oh I don't have a picture of the corn bread but that's the star of the show. Make sure you get some. Overall this place hit all the right spots and I definitely would recommend!!"

"MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE ...!Wow, this is a hidden gem that I RECOMMEND VERY, VERY HIGHLY.Madison Soul Food Kitchen is located at the United House of Prayer For All People on Greenway Avenue, a few blocks from Leonard & I-670 on the near east side. It's very, very easy to get to.The Kitchen is a small, simple church cafeteria that's opened as a restaurant to the public 7 days/week. Members of the church cook and serve.There is plenty of great parking in the church's big, safe, fenced parking lot.The food was phenomenal - delicious, "stick to your bones", wonderful soul food. Truly fantastic. The best I've found in Columbus, without question. This was the most great food I've had for $10 bucks in a long time (meals with 2 sides are $7; I added cobbler and a drink).Servers were kind and welcoming. The regulars in the dining room were friendly and welcoming. 3 or 4 people asked how our meal was and invited us back.I followed the lead of the 2 ladies in front of me in the serving line and ordered Salisbury Steak (probably the best I've ever had), mac & cheese (absolutely delicious), green beans (very good), and peach cobbler (very good).My wife had baked chicken (absolutely delicious), mac & cheese, rice & gravy, and cornbread. Tea and lemonade were good and sweet.Yes, folks, this is a simple "off the beaten path" church cafeteria-style restaurant in an inner-city neighborhood that many Yelp'ers don't frequent or have never been to.My sincere and strong recommendation - go, just go. Go soon. Take a chance, get out of your comfort zone, and go have some delicious and inexpensive food with some genuinely friendly people. "I've ordered a few times on doordash and figured it was time for a review. The Mac and cheese was just ok, tasted the same as Hot Chicken Takeover. I really enjoyed the candied yams and I always get the blackened chicken. The chicken is served I made creamy cause on a bed of beans and rice. You definitely get good portions for your money and I am going to attempt to branch out and try some other items."

"Sounded good on a cold day, and I was over this way. I've been meaning to come for a while, but it's just not on my usual route. Turn in at the light, and be careful about which driveway you pick- I think it's the second driveway, near a daycare, and it winds around back to the restaurant. You can see the place from James. Pretty busy at lunchtime, a few dine in and some carryout. Served cafeteria style, so you can see what you want, and drool over it. Well, there's a clear shield, but you know what I mean. I got smothered pork chops, since I hadn't had them forever. Meaty, tender, covered in gravy and onions. So so good, especially as comfort food on a cold day. You can also get them fried. Plenty of other things on the menu looked good. And all of the sides sounded good. I ended up getting one that was a mix of cabbage and greens, instead of getting the two separately, so that gave me space for another side. I went with mac & cheese. Sweetie's mom's mac is the best in the world. I'm not kidding. This is not quite that good, but is a very good homemade version, loaded with cheese, and baked in a big pan. Service was excellent. Prices are a bit steep, but good for the quantity and quality. Canned pop. Cheap plasticware. I was leery, but the pork chops were so tender that even a plastic knife pulled them apart easily. Hardly needed it. The place is not fancy inside. Old, but clean, a few booths and tables. You're there for the food, not the decor. Or, come in and pick it up and take it home. And have better silverware... I will definitely be back. I loved what I got, and was enticed by some of the other things."

"Uber delivery.. So I ordered jerk chicken, cabbage, and green beans. Let me start off saying.. a good jerk chicken is supposed to fall right off the bone. This chicken melted right off the fork. It appeared like it would be dry. But that is the outside seasoning. Has a light crispt crust. But when you bite into it, the extra Jamaican bite kicks in. You start chewing it. The inside is filled with flavor, too, as it melts in your mouth. I love adding hotsauce to mix with a potato or macaroni salad in one bite. But that jerk chicken didn't need hotsauce. It was flavor throughout. You could add more hotsauce, but it was just fine. The green beans. They were slightly overcooked because they were so tender they fell apart trying to pick up with your fork. But they had the same spice of flavors running in them that.. just because they were soft, you still scoop it up to enjoy.The cabbage was tasty as well.. about the same spice level as well. A little over cooked for my style - like the green beans.. but not to the point that I won't order it again. So at 9 at night and a craving off uber that justified my needs."

"Really the best. You can't go wrong with any of their options. One gets so much at such a reasonable price it makes you do a triple take. Got the dinner combo with comes with a side (either fries, fried okra, rice), "texas toast" (really just wheat bread buttered and flipped on the grill which was still great), and a drink (can of pop or bottle of tea/water). The flavor was there in the meal. The guy at the counter was very pleasant, patient, and cordial. Once ordering, it took less than 15 minutes til I had my meal. I'll certainly be back."

However, I was open to trying Str8 when a friend asked me to lunch.The staff was so very friendly, and patient.I kept to the sides, as I am usually a side girl anyways. I ordered macaroni and cheese and the yellow rice. The rice was surprisingly my favorite followed by the Mac... my friend enjoyed his greens and told me the cornbread was really good. Honestly, I thought this place was out of business -- it's closed on Mondays, and I'm usually in the area on Mondays ;-)Note - this is take away only, but they do have a drive through.If this is your food type of choice, this appears to be a solid option."

"The food here is excellent; so much so that I'm keeping the bookmark to make sure I come back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.  All the meats I've tried thus far have been deliciously juicy and tender.  One of my favorites from my first visit was the brisket; it's succulent and rich with a taste that's so good it will always leave you hungry for more! Tip: Portion sizes are all large, especially the sides.  While you might find it tough to save room, if you're a dessert person I recommend both the peach cobbler and the Reese's Pie"

"Most Friday's their food truck was outside Crafted Culture (when they were on Morrison Rd) and I'd often stop - the BEST wings I've ever had!! They're huge, cooked amazingly with crispy breading, and the sauces are great. I crave these wings and I'm barely a "wing" person, they're that good, as are the collard greens!!! Mac N Cheese is pretty good. They were always crazy busy with orders, so sometimes slow, as to be expected, but so worth any wait - and that means you know it's good when everyone wants it! If you see 'em definitely stop, and it looks like he usually posts where they're at on their Instagram. Give them support, I want them to be around!!!"
