Gus W. "I finally got to go back after our Yelp Elite event and hit some more balls on the range here yesterday. It really is a beautiful setting, especially with the skyline in the distance. You wouldn't believe you're in Franklin County. Everything is competitve with other places around town, but I wouldn't say it's cheaper. You can go to the Four Seasons Golf and Fitness Center and pay the same amount for the driving range. It costs $15 to play a 9 hole par 3, which isn't bad, but you can go to many public courses and pay $35ish to play 18 holes on a regular course, like Raymond Memorial.Golf Depot is great for practicing, however, as you can go from the range, to the putting green, to a short course (holes are bout 60 yards), to the par 3 and work out all of your game. I do wish the driving range had signs going beyond 150 yards to get a better idea of how far my balls were landing. The food that we tried from our event was very good, and most of it was on the menu. The patio is nice and relaxing to chill and have a beer, and it overlooks the skyline as well. This is a great place for me as I work near Gahanna and can make the trip over in about 10 minutes from the office. I'll definitely be back."

All the holes were very well kept. And the layout was a perfect balance of different challenges. Enjoyed playing here very much and will do my best to return again soon."

Alan R. "11 dollars. I paid 11 dollars to walk 9 holes. That is awesome, true I paid about 6 dollars in gas(it is in pickaway county about 30-40 min south of columbus) but still 11 dollars. This course was very fun to play. The ranger at the first hole saw that I was walking by myself and that there was a line on 1, so he told me to go to hole 10. No line, no waiting, no one behind me. Just the way that I like it. The course was nice and green, a bit challenging and open. The greens were well kept and smooth. The sprinklers were going on 3 of the 9 holes I played which sucked. Luckily I did hit one of the sprinklers head and it added a solid 60 yards to my drive! I will definalty go here again."

Clover Valley Golf Club

Nancy K. "Clover Valley is a well maintained public course out in the country but close enough to suburban Columbus. The greens and fairways are in pretty good shape but had a little bit of damage depending on the hole. The hole placement on the green was pretty difficult which was annoying considering the general difficulty level of the course. The carts were nice but could have used a good spray down. Overall, it's worth a visit if you find a good deal."

Steve P. "I am brand new to the game of golf, just received a set of clubs as a gift, so my dad and I went here to try them out and so I could learn the ins and outs of the game. This place came recommended by one of my coworkers. We played on a warm October Saturday, and probably due to the changing of the seasons (see: "falling leaves"), so it wasn't nearly as busy as I expected. There were a couple of times when we waited on the group in front of us and it was only toward the last two holes when the couple behind us caught up.The price seems to be comparable to others nearby and includes your golf cart. The family who owns it is local and it's great to support local business. Everyone was kind in our interactions in the pro shop. The course seemed well-maintained and the course is not bad for a beginner like me, but my dad, who has been golfing a long time, enjoyed the course as well.I could see going back here, but also checking out what the other courses in the area have to offer, so I have a basis for comparison."

Rolling Meadows Golf Club

Rolling Meadows Golf Club

★★★☆☆ 2.8 (18)

Justin H. "Took the day off Friday before Memorial Day to have a little "me" day out on the golf course. Decided to try out Rolling Meadows. It was relatively inexpensive compared to other courses around and I wasn't looking for anything fancy for my first round of the year. $30 for 18 holes including a cart, PRETTY GOOD!I got there 20 mins before my tee time and still didn't get out in time due to the credit card machine taking FOREVER to process credit cards. Also, the man working the inside seemed to not really be in much of a hurry as I finally got up to the counter told him my tee time was 5 mins ago and he fielded a phone call, chatted on the phone for a minute or two, and slowly checked my name for a tee time. It was kind of rude and the line was getting pretty knowingly frustrated. He wasn't overly friendly either so the service was kind of a miss for me.The course itself wasn't bad, there was a hole or two that had pretty muddy/sloppy fairways but for the most part, it was kept up pretty well and the greens were in good condition. There were plenty of age ranges there for a Friday morning and pace of play was good. The carts are older but still work fine, that's why they make golf tracking apps. I liked that they didn't have someone on the first hole to check tee times and make sure everyone was going out when they were supposed to which helped with me running late from the clubhouse and made me feel a little less pressure.Overall decent course and good for the price. Just needed a bit of improved service for a better rating. I would probably go back and give it another shot when I just want to play a round on my own tho."

New Albany Links Golf Club

New Albany Links Golf Club

★★★☆☆ 2.6 (19)

Nancy K. "The course is well maintained for a public course but MAN is the pace of play slow. We started at 5pm on a Friday but 4.5 hours later and we hadn't made it to the 16th hole before it was pitch black out. The starters came around once to check on everyone but clearly there was a huge issue. The beer and food at the clubhouse was priced in line with any other semi "nice" course and you could order off the grill menu if you wanted to wait. Overall, I'd play again if I got a good deal but I wouldn't pay the normal rate of $50ish dollars. FYI- Be prepared to lose a ton of balls too as the grasses are high and thick."

Walt S. "My review is of the Scarlet Golf Course. It's a bit early to be all excited over playing an 18-hole round at the Ohio State University's Alistair McKenzie design golf course. Yet each and every time I step to the No. 1 tee box I realize I'm about to play one of the TOP 5 college courses in the nation."Scarlet" takes no prisoners. The course demands every skill set a golfer can muster. Length? Plenty - she'll open at 6,500 and stretch out to over 7,400 if you want to try the Web.com pro tees. Accuracy? Jack Nicklaus did a make-over of the bunkering about 6 - 7 years ago. They are deep. They are plentiful and they are unrelenting. Beauty? Three of the Front 9 holes play over water/lake. Five of the Back 9 holes cross over Turkey Run Creek and change elevation dramatically. Greens? "Scarlet" has some of the largest, most subtly undulating monsters in all of the Midwest. Quick quick quick, too.To play "Scarlet" you have to have some kind of affiliation with Ohio State (student, alumni, Life Member, employee, etc.) The golf course allows carts and is a real challenge for walkers, especially the Back 9 holes. If your game is solid and you want the REAL DEAL - visit OSU and play Scarlet Course. Love it!"

The course has a lot of character, but is still open enough so it's okay if you spray the drive a little. Kind of off the beaten path, but not too bad of a drive down from Columbus. Safari Golf Club

Safari Golf Club

★★★☆☆ 2.8 (8)

Walt S. "Safari Golf Club gets 2-stars from me for a small handful of reasons.First on the list is the course design/layout. Safari underwent another make-over (the last and most dramatic being around 2007 - 08 when many holes were re-routed; in a good way I minght add). The course has been lengthened but not strengthened. By that I mean a long course can add to its unfavorability. Because so much of Safari's golf holes run back and forth, to and fro, parallel to each other there are golfers playing from other fairways back to their golf holes and greens. Stretching out the length simply puts a poor or average golfer further away from their final destination and, when in my fairway, causes delay after delay. I liked Safari of old because it was short and simple to play - still aggravating because of layout - but play was swifter. Today, things are really backing up.Next is simply the level of golfer playing Safari. The cost of playing is less than most public courses around and that's good. But low cost brings out poor golfers who in what seems more incidents than not don't understand or give a hoot about speed of play. Two carts and four guys looking for one golf ball doesn't work for me, especially (read last paragraph) when they're trying to drive into my fairway. Etiquette in golf is paramount and, yeah, that makes me sort of a golf snob. There, I said it. But JesuChristi, a 5-hour round on a short course because somebody wants to compare cigar brands, chat about last night's piece of gr_ass and the likes has no place unless you're a +2 handicap. Finally, the course seems to have many green-to-tee distance problems. Heck, it takes almost a full minute to leave hole no. 1's green to get to hole no. 2's tee (with a cart). The same can be said for 3 or 4 others. And Safari takes on a lot of local walkers. Walking is fine but not when a group in carts is finished and moving before the foursome ahead of them is arriving at the next tee. What's good about Safari? The range is a good place to warm up before the round. The putting green is big and smooth. The restaurant, bar and outdoor patio serviceable. A large outdoor pavilion is available for party rentals. Parking is ample. And there are stretches of holes at Safari that are very enjoyable, mostly on the back nine. Last - if you're a CBUS Zoo contributor you'll get a 10% discount.I love golf and I'll return to Safari Golf Club time and again because of price and friends play there. But I can say I walk off with more stress than when I entered the grounds."

Brad G. "I enjoyed playing this golf course although it was somewhat easier than a lot of the other courses I play. With that being said, the tee shot on the first hole is very intimidating and there are a couple of longer par 3s. I really like the layout of the course and enjoyed most of the holes immensely. The price is reasonable but the course is also not kept up that well. A lot of the cart paths are not very nice and the greens could be a lot nicer. I'll probably be back to play simply because I like the layout of the course and the price is very reasonable. If you're a player that enjoys a pristine golf course and this one is not for you."

Adam R. "Very unassuming when you look this place up but it's a worthwhile course to play. The course is well kept overall and offers a leisurely game. We did have a lot of sprinklers come on during play but at a July "feels like" temp of 97 out it was kind of welcome. Only dislike here was the cart. I had a choice of two upon walking out of the clubhouse. Both equally muddy and just needing at least a quick spray down to maybe be okay aside from being very loud. Definitely on their last legs of a hard life. Regardless, a nice course to get your game on in Delaware when you don't want to fork over the premium for all the too-fancy places in the vicinity."
