"Love this little gem on our home road, Walker! I look forward to coming in every time and even better yet it supports local."
"We look forward to this opening every summer. Great fresh produce. Get tomatoes every single time that are absolutely delicious. The last 2 times we got cantaloupes that were outstanding. Great location in Gahanna. Employees are awesome and very helpful."
"Growing up in Florida, I never got to go Apple picking or do the Fall things I can do here. This farm is letting me live out my childhood dreams! Their apples are really good and GIGANTIC. My whole life I was used to using grocery store apples for desserts and eating. But once I picked fresh apples, it is amazing how different they taste. For the past 2 years in a row I have gone honey crisp apple picking. They are my favorite apple and I make delicious apple galettes with them. Both years the apples have had the perfect texture and amount of sweetness. We got a large bag of apples each trip.Apple picking is so fun to do with friends and family. I've gone apple picking with husband and this past season with an out of town friend. Both times were super enjoyable and I think my dog enjoyed it the most. He loved greeting all the kids and adults around who were picking apples. He also loved to smell the farm odors while we were driving up to the apple picking area.Lastly I love their shop. They offer a good variety of produce, baked goods, sweet treats and unique gifts to buy. I absolutely love their apple cider donuts and nothing beats when they are served hot and fresh to you.I am looking forward to many more trips at this farm and I will have to see when I pick other fruits throughout the year since I'd love continue supporting this business."
"I really enjoyed this place! Lots of homemade goodies and fresh fruits and vegetables. The shortcake with berries was one of the best things Ive ever eaten! The corn (you can husk right there!), pasta salad, heirloom tomato and blackberry pie were off the charts delicious! We also tried the buckeyes, turtles, corn muffins, cut up cheese and meat container and caramel apple pie. The real STARS were mentioned above though. Definitely a fan!"
"I mean, it's amazing and really priced appropriately which is not something you can say for pumpkin patches by and large. It's so far away though, though I guess since location is relative then maybe it's my fault that I live so far from it. No, I'm the one typing, so I'm the point of reference, so it is in fact so far away. I guess you probably get the point; I should tell you that I live in Westerville. So anyway come here for pumpkins and fall things and those corn stalks that your wife makes you put on your front porch for some reason. Also pick your own pumpkins because kids love that for some reason."
"I'm intrigued by this place. I found Schacht Farm because I knew it's where Jeni was buying pumpkins for this year's batch of ice cream. (It's actually the buttercup squash, but let's not fuss over little details.) Jeni has high standards, so I was most definitely excited about making the trip to Schacht to buy some pie pumpkins. And then I read the Yelp reviews. Holy crap--they're terrible!I was convinced to get to the bottom of things. I checked out their website, and it sounds like they made a big switch in 2013 from growing loads of spring and summer produce to now only focusing on fall crops. I can understand why people are upset over the switch--especially if they had come to love the you-pick strawberries, etc--but I also respect a business's right to change their model. I just so happen to be a fan of fall, and I loved what Schacht had going on.This is most definitely not the giant sprawl of Lynd's, so if that's what you're looking for--just go to Lynd's. I like that Schacht is a bit smaller and more of a family feel. There's a big lot full of every pumpkin you could imagine. Of course they had beautiful jack-o'-lantern pumpkins, but they also had several culinary varieties as well! I bought sugar, buttercup, and cinderella pumpkins to roast for pie filling this fall. I'm no pumpkin whisperer or anything, but I thought all these squashes were gorgeous! Just beyond the pumpkin lot is the you-pick part of the farm. There were greens, peas, pumpkins, and more! And if you still wanted to do something else, there was a little area to pet some mules. Last, there's a tiny shop where you pay, and you can also pick up cider, honey, and a few other goodies.I really had a nice time at Schacht Farm, and if you're in the mood for fall--I think you'll like it too."
"While I have been to other, larger orchards, I found Lawrence to be so much more charming. You begin by choosing a basket based on price ($16 or $10) and then head out into the well marked rows of trees. You'll of course be picking according to the ripening seasons so feel free to call ahead or ask which avaliable varieties best suit your needs. For me, making homemade apple sauce is what this time of year is all about. And picking them is all the more memorable."
"Lovely event venue!I went for a wedding that started in a grassy courtyard surrounded by foliage. The backdrop to the ceremony included some beautiful big trees! From there it was a short walk to a 2-part reception hall with cocktail area with a glass wall that overlooked a patio courtyard. The reception area included high enough ceilings for the bride to add an aerial rig complete with an hour long show-- it seems like you could pull off just about anything in that room. The right side included glass doors that opened to another patio area with an awning overtop. The place feels very much lodge-esque, but is not exactly in the woods.I enjoyed my experience there, I liked the ambiance, and the food was great too (plus the bride did one helluva job planning her wedding, but thats besides the point)."
"We love this healthy market for their organic and gluten free options, with products that are difficult to find elsewhere. The meat from local farms is especially appreciated. Friendly team as well - everything about this place is great."

It's a cute little farm shop. Everyone is friendly. It is slow paced, so don't come here if you're in a hurry. An easy way to get local foods and snacks.

Open for the summer. Known for their bi-color sweet corn - $.75 an ear or a bakers dozen for 6.99. Also have Georgia peaches, heirloom tomatoes, zucchini, green beans, cabbage and a variety of peppers. Plus fresh baked fruit pies. Recently tried the peach - pretty yummy! Worth a stop if in the area

This place is amazing! We were here years ago with our daughter but the focus then was pumpkins and the maze. This time around, our motivation was the highly prized Pixie Crunch apples. My hubby is an ED aid in Westerville schools and his class has previously taken annual trips during apple season to Lynd's. His first trip introduced him to the Pixie Crunch apple - the absolute ONLY apple he will now eat. Each year he bought a half peck and then cried when the last one was gone. This year, Lynd's changed their school offerings so they did not go.So hubby asked if I would go with him and I said certainly! We went on a beautiful Saturday late morning during the height of Pixie Crunch season. We agreed we didn't need to pick our own so we went straight to the market (after turning in too early and heading to the maze). The had plenty of parking and the place was hopping. I don't think I had been to the market before - it was huge. We immediately headed to the bagged apple section and located the Pixie Crunch bins. My hubby pored over the decision of how much to buy while I googled how long they might last. He landed on a peck and a half. I knew he wasn't going to share so I bought half a peck to eat and share with friends. They are $15 for a half peck - probably over $3.50 a pound but what the heck. When in Rome . . . We made our way towards the register and passed a rounder of popcorn stuff. I've recently entered a new air popcorn phase and thought I'd give their popcorn a try. They had a half gallon plastic jug of kernels and I grabbed one as I passed by. No clue on price so I figured it was insanely high. We had a short wait in line which gave me a moment to look around a bit. The people in front of us were buying some interesting confections that I wish I had seen. When it came my turn, I was shocked the popcorn was only $4. A great deal! I should have bought more as it's almost gone at the time of this writing (several weeks later). I've also only got 2 apples left and gave 3 away to a friend.I will definitely plan a trip next year - or maybe around Halloween as I really want to look at what else the market offers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND a trip! So much fun.

I was frustrated with the area's weekly farmers markets this year - mostly not anyone's fault, but due to the restrictions of COVID-19, there were fewer vendors, and the proximity of that many people made me uncomfortable, so I decided to check out some of the area's "farm markets," which weren't as limited in terms of open hours. Boy am I glad I did. Smith Farm Market is not very close to where I live, but it's worth the extra time for travel. First off: tomatoes. Being able to walk in and right there is a big basket of Brandywines, my favorite summer treat. An assortment of other heirloom varieties, so many different ones they require a chart with descriptions so you can decide what to get. Big fat green tomatoes to sate my fried green tomato addiction. Boxes of Romas and San Marzanos to turn into tomato confit. I was in heaven. Then the rest of the vegs. I roasted whole beets for the first time (a bit of a pain, to be honest, but I enjoyed the challenge.) Fresh Brussels sprouts well ahead of Thanksgiving. Potatoes, onions, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers - you name it. Finally the baked goods. Someone else here said the pies are frozen - well, if they are, they're better frozen pies than I've had anywhere else, ever. And the prices are amazing, especially given the quality. I'm in danger, because they offer a "pie lovers" card that nets you a free pie after purchase of 10. (Half pies count, too, so you can tell yourself "it's only half a pie.") The lemon crunch pie is the BEST (think lemon meringue pie, only with a crumble topping instead of meringue.) Sweet corn biscuits are delightful topped with honey and butter, although they tend to fall apart. The people are very nice and helpful, and when I was accidentally overcharged for something they apologized and quickly made it right. I'm dreading the end of the produce season, but I will definitely be back next year. May even wean me off of the limited farmer's markets completely.

We randomly stumbled upon this hidden gem. We went during the week and had the place to ourselves. The animals were very active and entertaining. The kids play area was very nice! My two year old and 1 year old had a great time. Everything was free! They had tons of hand sanitizer around and all staff had their mask on correctly. Inside the market area they had amazing apple cider and the cookies were baked fresh! We can't wait to go back

This market has a nice setup. Plenty of parking. The small open barn is perfect for the big bins and tables. Plenty of room to maneuver and peruse the offerings. They open the first week after Labor Day, and, from what I understand, stay open thru spring. All sorts of produce. Pumpkins, watermelon, zucchini, apples, pears (this year's crop only produced one picking), potatoes, green beans, beets, several jams (locally made). My main mission was to get some good beets. Of the five or so I picked out this trip, they weren't the most flavorful that I've had. But, nature's nature, so I won't judge :) I do know I will come back. Now, I wait in anticipation for the pears I got to ripen...!

Our family loves Lawrence Orchards!! The market is always a great place to get apples and other produce! We have bought honey here before, mulling spices and apple cider are a must and caramel apples and popcorn balls are amazing as well! When our kids were young, Applefest was always a fun tradition we all enjoyed. There are animals to see, a pavilion to have lunch or a snack in and apples to pick!

Let me start by saying that we were here on a mild, rainy, January Friday. The wedding - oddly enough - started at 4:00 PM. There is a nice greenhouse-like structure where the wedding was held. It was adequately heated and blankets were also available on each seat. The venue was perfectly good for the event and I'm sure it would have been lovely if the weather was nicer. We got a little wet moving from the wedding building to where the cocktail hour was held. No worries as it was a very short walk. Unfortunately, the room that the cocktail hour was held in was not large enough to accommodate the large crowd. There was a small table with snacks, a coffee bar, and also a fully stocked bar. However, it was quite difficult to move around the room and I literally had to climb over a lady in a wheelchair to get to the coffee bar. Twice. I don't imagine that it was the venue's fault that the wedding party insisted on having a cocktail hour in the confined space and invited so many people. When we were finally allowed into the large dining and dancing room, it was much more comfortable. There were 10 Top tables and we were served family style. The reception proceeded smoothly enough. We waited a bit to get our entrees and once we did get them, there was not enough of some of the dishes for all those at the table. Again, I doubt this is the venue's fault as the wedding party would have selected the quantity and quality of food. The quality of the food was fine. It was a heavily breaded chicken breast for which I un-breaded it , green beans, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. Nothing exceptional but perfectly good. What wowed me was the dessert table. There was an amazing spread of full-size cupcakes as well as chocolate dipped strawberries. The strawberries were huge and had a thick coating of delicious chocolate. Needless to say I made multiple trips. The reception had a DJ and a dance floor. I'm not sure of the size as I never got dancing. By 9:00 PM, I was definitely ready to go. Unfortunately, my husband who was friends of the bride and bridal family was not ready to go . I guess the good news of a wedding starting at 4:00 PM was that I did get home before 10:00 PM. My guess is that they got quite a deal by holding a wedding on a Friday afternoon. I still don't know if I prefer to have a Saturday afternoon wedding which takes up much of my weekend or whether a Friday afternoon wedding which cuts into my work day is preferable. TBD. Anyways, I do appreciate the fact that this venue is local and only 20 minutes from the house. This having a wedding at a venue as well as the reception - not in a church - seems to be the trend as does serving family style meals. Both of which are fine by me. As is this location.AND I forgot to mention. Parking lot is graveled. If you're a lady in heels in the water/cold/snow - be sure and get dropped off at the building. Navigating the puddles and mud was NOT cool.

"Thank you Melanie S. for the review or I never would have known about this market. They sell all local products produced on Ohio farms- Shagbark, Snowville Creamery and New Albany organics among others. The produce was pretty picked over the day I visited, but I did score some beautiful fresh lettuce, jalapenos and Snowville whipping cream. The meat case was well stocked and they had some nice looking cheeses. I could see some tasty charcuterie boards happening after a stop here."
"I love this little store so much. I love it even more for relocating right next to the play area. Sugarbush is, essentially, a gift basket store. You pick a basket and things to put inside and they put it together for you. While I haven't really hit that point in adulthood where I give people gift baskets, I do love this store for a quick, small snack. There's a huge variety of products to buy: a cooler with drinks and fresh fruit, larger boxes of cookies and crackers, local jams and dips, gourmet and regular candies, individual snacks, etc. I'm here almost daily getting a snack for the kids or something to give as a gift. The staff here is always so nice and really don't seem to mind the kids who come in to pick out snacks. It's the perfect choice when you don't want to stop for a full meal at one of the restaurants in the shopping center."
"Stumbled on this brand new Aldi, right in the built-up area on 5th. Workers still finishing construction details.Standard Aldi. Medium sized grocery store, bright and clean. For me, Aldi is not a place for regular shopping trips, though you could get by. I use it more for snacks, quick stops, and quirky things like their dips and flavored whipped cream. Only one lane open, so a long line. You'd think they'd at least want to make a better impression during their grand opening. Don't forget your bags, and a quarter."
"This Aldi is now open in Grandview!!! Came here yesterday after work. The parking lot was packed. But the inside is so nice and clean. They have a bunch of Halloween candy and pumpkin snacks. Go check them out!!!"
"Blueberry donuts. Blueberry fritters. Blueberry jam. Blueberry. Oh. Let's just say blueberry everything. They have a restaurant here too. I didn't have time for the restaurant. I thought the decor was great. The staff was very friendly. And the location wasn't bad at all. I'll for sure come back."
"If you can believe it, I've been in Columbus for 15+ years now and never visited any of the farms dotted along the rural periphery.I had a week off for our 15th wedding anniversary and the idea of going apple picking, baking the entire week, and spoiling my spouse with a myriad of deliciousness from the oven captivated me.They had rows and rows of a Japanese apple variant that is delicious to eat in hand or for cooking, which was perfect! For a modest fee you can fill a whole basket to the brim that they supply! They even give you a claw like appendage to reach apples high up (but word of advice - just because it's up high, doesn't mean it's the best!)All in all - it was a blast and a great unorthodox couples activity. Recommended when needing to just get outside while still doing something together. Also, baking with apples YOU picked? Absolutely priceless sensation."
"Great place to find FRESH, CHEAP vegetables and flowers. Of the three farm markets in the area (Peter's and something that starts with a L) Reeb's has the best prices. I have gone to Peter's farm market for a long time and have overlooked Reeb's (on the other side of road less the 1/4 of a mile north) for way too long. I will never go to any other farm market besides this one!!! I guess what makes it a little more quaint is that the actually farmer is the one running the store. I'm sure it's just because it's not harvest time but he's a nice guy who seems to work his tail off. I feel bad that I didn't get his name - I think it's important to get names!!"
"This is the best fresh produce on the Southside. You will find a good selection all year round. Evelyn and crew drive down to W. Virginia when the winter gets colder to maintain their stock and tomatoes are brought in from Georgia and Florida.I am a firm believer that good food is all about good ingredients and I am constantly underwhelmed by the selection and quality of the produce at my nearby Giant Eagle on whittier street and trendy Kroger's in the Brewery District. This week at Evelyns I got some of the biggest and hardy sweet potatoes for just .79 a pound and equally delicious tomatoes for 1.99 a pound. I also had my eye on the abundant and fresh supply of sweet onions, zuchinni, cabbage, and squash. Again the quality is superior to local grocers and prices are competitive. If you are not familiar with this part of town it can be tricky to find, south on parsons avenue just beyond the old schottensteins. The address is Marion rd but it is not marked, You will see E. Barthman on the west side, and Evelyn's is on the opposite side. Hours are Mon-Saturday 9:00-5:30 from Dec-March and 9:00-5:30 Mon-Sun April-November. I often call ahead to see what they have each week.I am never disappointed!"
"Found out about this through ColumbusUnderground.com and thought I'd track down this out-of-the-way place for a visit. A strange scene -- a nearly empty warehouse with a makeshift grocery in one small area. The walk-in cooler has an average selection of fruits and vegetables. We picked up a couple dozen lemons at 3 for a dollar; I saw some avocados (a little overripe) for a dollar each... both good prices. They also have a few prepackaged goods If the prices are consistently cheaper, it's probably worth it for a big buy of fresh produce."
"One of those classic throw-back farmer markets. This is a no frills, local establishment that isn't looking for a bunch of new customers. This is one of those word of mouth places or just driving by and going in on a whim places. The Farm Barn is literally a barn at a residential house. The barn has a small open sign on it that makes you welcome to walk in. I did not see a single person or sign that anyone was around. This place relies on honesty and integrity. They have sticky notes and a pay box for the customer to write down what they bought and put the cash into the box. Prices are clearly marked and a scale is available for you to weigh what you get. I like that these places can still exist in the world that we live in. This places specializes in tomatoes and sells them for $1 a pound. Their tomatoes look to be natural as they don't look like the perfect tomatoes one buys at the chain groceries. The tomatoes look like the ones I get from my garden out back. I like the trust and small scale of this place. The owner also has some bake goods for sale like cookies. From some of the notes on the wall, it looks like that the owner sometimes makes more baked goods for Friday and Saturday than during the week. They have a variety of veggies grown right there on the farm, If you are out near Plain City and want local and cheap veggies than this place fits the bill. I was only hoping to talk to the owner to find out more about the place but didn't have a chance. The owner does have cards in the store so you can cal."
"This place has been around for 9 years and has never been reviewed on Yelp. Let that sink in for a minute...A buddy of mine who did the #YelpCleanse with me told me about a place on the East side that was primarily wholesale--but also was occasionally open to the public at really good prices. And if you know me, you know I *love* the hunt for great produce. So I grabbed Susie R and we headed out to find this magical land of produce... also known as Whitehall. When we pulled up, it was definitely a giant warehouse out in the middle of nowhere. Susie and I wandered around for a bit before we found the entrance . This place is definitely made for wholesale, and it's not overtly customer friendly. I kinda love that. It's like this hidden secret adventure! (Btw, I added pics of the correct entrance.)Once we were inside, we were so warmly welcomed by the Sanfillipo's staff! Everyone seemed genuinely excited to see us. The space is tiny, but they pack only the best items inside. The produce is extremely fresh--and cheap!--and they also have grass-fed Ohio beef, natural Ohio chicken, Ohio honey, local eggs, and Snowville Creamery milk! The interior isn't much to look at. It's all about the produce, people. So if you have an adventurous spirit and also love the hunt for great deals on great produce, then head on out to Sanfillipo's! And give me a holler--I'm always down for a field trip."
"I love it when things are a combination.Like salty and sweet. Chocolate and vanilla. This is why I like Lannings. It's a combo of farmers market and butcher shop. All of the meat is butchered on site. Oh my. The pepper bacon makes me want to slap something it's that good. I buy 4lbs and have them wrap it up in 1/2 pound packages. We use it in elevated BLT's. They also have a meatloaf mix that is ready to go. Buy the pound amount you want, take it home, drop in pan, bake and make everyone think your Betty Crocker. They can get you anything. Venison, beef, pork, gator. Yup. Anything. Fresh veggies are displayed in a sweet little produce area. It feels old school and comfy. They are always really nice and fresh. Oh! There's a bakery case. I've loved everything I've gotten but my favorite is the small pecan roll. It's fun looking around. They have a lot of eclectic stuff like lime pickles...which are amazing. Local honey, bulk candy, canned apple butter and jams...just fun local stuff. A lot of their items are from fabulous ole Ohio."
