"I've never eaten at the asterisk. I do come in for drinks. They have the best bartenders for cocktails in the W. The smoked old fashioned is always a favorite. The bar sets the tone from the moment you walk in ...it has such a cool story coming all the way from Europe to Westerville Ohio."
"Love that there was parking, the pierogies were so flavorful as was the pot roast. There are a lot of vegan options to choose from and based on the vegan pierogies they were superb. Service was great and attentive. The vibe is a cool underground bar feel so it's definitely an experience. Will definitely be back, if not trying to get the pierogies frozen to bring home."
"The fried Brie was amazing. Very crunchy and filling, and the apricot chutney complimented it perfectly. My husband was a fan of the triple decker sandwich; it was able to fill him up for two meals! The beer list was expansive and seasonally fitting without being overwhelming. It's pricy, but worth it for sure."
"Enter in the back alley to this cute little place in Columbus with amazing authentic food! Paella, empanadas, choripan, you name it! The staff are all super friendly and our to go orders came out quick! There's also a salsa club in the front of the building that I heard great things about!"
"Why did I wait so long to get carry out from here? I live close by, but my wife isn't a big fan of Cajun food. So I waited until she was out and I ordered some carry out for me. This place did not disappoint.I got six wings with buffalo sauce and greens, and shrimp gumbo. I couldn't eat it all at one sitting, but everything was incredible. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The gumbo tasted like New Orleans. The greens were awesome.Loved it!"

Excellent example of higher end diner food. You know what I mean. Nice and varied menu, excellent and inventive cocktails, and well trained servers. Nice bathrooms too, thanks for that. Meghan, the owner, is on her game at all three concepts she owns. Keep up the stellar work.

I'm in town for some work meetings and arrived fairly late on a Monday night in December and it is freaking cold (I live in S.F. California and have become a winter weenie) and I'm hungry for something other than nearby pizza. I got the "recommended list" of nearby restaurants from the Marriott property I'm staying at but I did my own research on Yelp and found this gem of joint ! Walked over and Lori was at the bar and she took great care of me. As others note, it is kind of hidden behind a market so be vigilant and you'll find it. Decent list of beers and drinks and they apparently swap out the beers on tap often and the price points are fair ! Special mixed drinks are also only $10 and they also seemed well constructed and well thought out. But let's get to the reason I was there - Pierogi's !! I used to hit the Ukrainian and polish places in Alphabet city in lower Manhattan New Yawk but those were Classic style and these are inventive and clever and actually quite tasty. They had about 10 different ones to try and I got an assortment and each one was actually quite tasty and unique - The brown butter one and the corn and green bean one were lovely and they came with sour cream on top and some sautéed caramelized onions ! Yum - and for $2.25/each a decent price. The pot roast on noodles ($13) was also a solid portion and done well. I would have liked all of the food a little warmer but all in all delicious. Staff (Lori at the bar) was friendly and helpful and I noted that tuesdays they have a reduced price deal on all the pierogis ($1.50) and drink specials and happy hour deals as well. Plus they have a clever tee shirt riffing a favorite teenage band of mine (Joy Division) for $20 I had to also get ! Tomorrow I'm back for more bargain pirogies and perhaps the chicken paprikosh or poutine ! Glad these folks are here - perhaps an outpost in the Bay Area ? Let's talk !! Do yerself a favor and hit this place up.

We love this place! The food is fantastic, the beer is good, and we love the causal (but still nice) feel of the place! Nine times out of ten the service is good too. Our biggest qualm is the cost-- everything from beer to apps to salad are definitely pricey. We would love to make this our regular spot, but can't justify the cost that often. That being said, their happy hour is great! Makes everything reasonably priced; we are far more willing to go more frequently when we can fit happy hour into our schedule.

Delicious. I got the wings and the shrimp and chicken gumbo, and basically inhaled it as quickly as the portion sizes allowed. The wings were crunchy and the jerk sauce was interestingly cinnamon-y, the shrimp were huge and juicy, and the gumbo was just the right level of spice and salt and umami. Definitely coming back for more.I did pickup, but service was lovely and it looks like a nice little patio space to hang out on with a snack.

I have frequented the food truck but never have I set foot into this establishment even though I have walked past it hundreds of times while at work downtown around the corner from it. On this particular day, I was supposed to go to another restaurant close by, but I had noticed that it was closed. So I opted for Barroluco. I am certainly glad that I did. The menu here can appear to be overwhelming, but it is easy to navigate. I got the empanadas and the Paella Rice. I have a deep love for empanadas, and these are some of my favorite ones in the city. The crispy, chewy outer crust and savory seasoned ground beef are always pretty great when I have had it at the food truck; the restaurant did not disappoint. The rice was quite tasty and cooked well. The ambiance of the place is quite inviting. I was here with a bunch of my fraternity brothers, and we had a great time fellowshipping and eating. Everyone loved their meal. The service was on point, and the staff was very accommodating. Restaurant staff answered all of our questions, and they helped guide us to the best meals for us according to our various tastes.

Top notch as always!I really hope this location does well, I'm always super impressed with the food here. Service is stellar as well, everyone is incredibly friendly. We couldn't resist getting the same appetizers as last time we were here (Tots and Onion Dip) and tried the Buckeye Bites- sooooo freaking good. The Chicken Caesar Salad was HUGE and great as well. I'm pretty sure you can't order anything bad here. Still have yet to come here for happy hour or brunch but they're on my to-do list!

From the outside coming in there's a familiarity to this spot. Reminds me of the bodegas in all the major cities. May not have the best aesthetic but really it's all about the food they have to offer. I suggest going for their classics like the smash burger. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Service is as you expect, quick and to the point, make sure you're ready to order and it'll be done in no time. Great spot to go to if your looking for a quick bite with a nostalgic aesthetic

"Absolutely Phenomenal!!! I am a big fan of their food truck but if I'm being perfectly honest, I'm not a huge fan of food trucks in general. I don't like not have a place to sit and eat my food so I often don't visit them. But the year these guys won best food truck in Columbus, I had to go check them out. And boy did they not disappoint. BUT I never got to have them again because food truck woes. So when I found out they were getting a brick and morter I knew I had to go right away. So one rainy afternoon we went to check them out and it was even better than I remembered. We were blown away. The food was insanely delicious. Seriously better than I remember. We started with the sampler platter and Paxton my 5 year old could not get enough of the paella and although I wanted to hog it to myself, I gave it to him so I didn't have to share the empanada. They are that good! Also on the sampler is a rib and loaded fries. Easily enough for a meal. But we didn't stop there - we could resist the signature sandwich The Barroluco. Holy Cow - this sandwich blew it out of the park. Sliced meat, ham, cheese and an egg on super thin bread with lettuce and tomato. You guys - this doesn't sound like much but oh. em. gee you guys have to run and get this sandwich. It is life changing. You will never want to go anywhere else for a sandwich again. We were just there and I'm already trying to figure out how we can go back. Protip - this location is on pearl alley off gay street so look for a meter on gay and walk over!"
"Love the atmosphere at this downtown location! Aleah was our server this evening and was totally awesome! We both tried something new tonight and had enjoyed every bite. My partner went with P&G Fried Bologna Sandwich with fries and ranch. I had the build your own burger, two-0patties, American cheese, and grilled onions with fries. We also split a half order of Mozzarella Sticks.Always enjoy the service and food and glad to see this new downtown location is going well."
"This is an easy 5 stars. The gentleman working the counter was so helpful with his suggestions, the flavors were fantastic, and we got a ton of food for the cost (in fact, I hope they raise their prices because I want them to stick around). I had the Somali rice with grilled chicken and the toppings he suggested (onions, peppers, corn, and cilantro). I couldn't decide on a sauce, so I chose all three that he recommended (southwest ranch, green chili, fav sauce). It was absolutely amazing! My son got a side of mac and cheese, which was a huge portion and came with a light sprinkle of cilantro...so good! My daughter got a kids meal of hot dog and fries, and even those tasted better than the average kids meal. We also got the watermelon lemonade and the mango lemonade, both of which were fantastic. Plenty sweet, but not overly sweet and not super syrupy. Inside, I would consider it to be a divey sort of place. They're just starting out, so it looks like they made their investments where they could. With the attention to detail they place on the flavors, I have no doubt they could make the inside really great with more resources.Overall, I highly recommend this place. We will be back!"
"I wouldn't even give them one star after this evening. I have been going to this restaurant since I was a small child and I have never had a worse experience anywhere! The music was blaring so loud you could hear it in the parking lot then once we got inside it was followed by the server singing at the top of her lungs. The entire staff was singing and cussing the entire time we were there which brings me to the second issue there was only one other table in the building and we waited 40 minutes for 2 omlettes and they couldn't even get our order correct. Probably because they couldn't hear over the music and too busy screwing off. A complete disappointment! We will not be returning!"
