"We relocated by to Ohio and have been enjoying the restaurants in the area. Forbidden Root caught our attention because the menu offers options for us non-meat eaters. We arrived at lunch time on a Saturday and found parking along a side street near the restaurant. We were seated immediately upon arriving and our waiter was great. Very informative and polite. During the meal the waiter gave us ample time to chose, sit, munch the app, and eat the main course. He did a great job.The restaurant is very well organized inside and has a casual vibe. There is plenty of seating to chose from. We were seated by a window in a booth. We had water (but fully intend to return for one of the beers!) to drink and started with the Szechuan fried eggplant. I highly recommend it. it was so good that we took multiple pictures and plan to try to duplicate it at home. Very, very good. For our main course I had the fried mushroom sandwich with french fries and my husband had the smash burger with french fries. Seems like a lot of "fried" in our meals but it just happened that way. We love to compare and contrast fries and the FR fries were awesome. The right amount of crunch and no need for additional seasoning. My sandwich was quite unique. I loved it. My husband remarked that his smash burger was very good and that he would order it again. We are looking forward to going again!"
"Throughly enjoyed Knotty Pine Brewing, it's literally in a residential neighborhood - parking is not great. The food was very good! Ordered the house burger, cooked medium well - cooked perfect and great flavor. Had a classic mule with ketel one, so good and refreshing. The service was good- the you g man working the bar took our orders and came back to check on us regularly. Forgot to take pictures of appetizers we ordered- however the pretzels and the house stuffed tatter tots were excellent- 10/10 would definitely recommend. the coconut shrimp was a favorite, but still tasty. There was also a band playing in the brewery, this was a tuesday night after work. They sounded very good."
"Wanted to try a local brewery that we hadn't been to. This place popped up and looked cool. It's not big. Very small bar at the front. We took seats there since most of the tables were taken. It was a Friday night so that's good. The bar is cool. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were unfortunately out of stickers. Guess we will have to go back. Darn haha I got a sour. It was fruity and tasted like blackberry cobbler just like the description. Very good. My husband got the Scottish ale. He said he was decent. Alittle too heavy for his liking. He got the porter next and said it was very good."
"It was very loud. I couldn't hear any conversation with my table mate unless if we were yelling. There is outdoor seating that may be more quiet but it was too hot to dine outside the day we went in mid-summer. The sweet potato fries were cold. The salmon BLT was pretty good though. My sister got the fish and chips. She said it was very dense and chewy. I thought this was the first time there but I had forgotten that I had been to North High Brewing for a holiday party before. It does make a good event space for holiday parties. I remember the food being mediocre then too. It was served catering style."

This old guy is still being indoctrinated as to good brewpubs from bad.For $13, beer drinkers can start with the FR flight. Sample five popular brews and choose the winner. Customize your five beers, only $2 more.Next, you can order an appetizer for the table, small plate, main course or just stick with bar snacks.I am a big fan of the food here, the other couple we were with, are not. I'm normally not a ricotta guy, but their Duck and Dumplings dish (ricotta gnocchi) is fantastic. I also loved their Ribeye Sandwich. They boast a very creative decor and it was very clean. Easy to find and parking was a snap. The service here was very fast and efficient. All went swimmingly! 08/24

This place is definitely underrated. Love coming here for dinner and brunch! Both are excellent!! They smoke their own pork in house and it's amazing along with make their own ketchup and sauces too. I would highly suggest getting the pretzels for an app or the nachos with a side of bbq. That's a favorites for me! Great atmosphere as well, it's pretty laid back great bar to watch sports at or come and sit on the patio that is huge and has plenty of seating! This is another staple for us to pop over too for a quick bite to eat or to bring friends when in town!

I love this place when you want to have a drink and enjoy lovely weather. Their beer is pretty good! They have a sour and a wheat beer that I really enjoy. Their soft pretzel is also a great accompaniment to the beer. They have other food items but I always get the pretzel. The service is really great (attentive but not annoyingly, speedy, accommodating even to larger groups). This place is always busy when the weather is nice and the service has always been on point. Because of the outdoor space, it is also family friendly.

I loved the vibe of this place. We got the patio seating and had a great time with friends and didn't even realize that we had spent around 3 hours. The food was amazing, and I loved their north high chicken sandwich, buffalo cauliflower, and bavarian pretzels. The service was quick, and our waiter was sweet & courteous.I would love to come back soon.

This was are fourth stop of the night on the ale trail. The area is really large and can accommodate a ton of people. Lots of screens around with a ton of sports. The beers were all really good and the prices were nice on those. There is a full menu with burgers, tacos, and apps. I was a bit surprised when the apps came out - the onion rings were $4 (not bad), but the four quarter size mini tacos were $6.50! It was a little crazy since the inside was cold and it was 80% dough. I would come back to try the burger but the apps would be a pass.

Happy hour ends at 5 but it is legit great. Pour you own beer is not dangerous, I don't care what the surgeon general says. Call 1-800-general now??? Nah bro, don't call him. They only have like 30 beers on tap so you can try them all in one trip like me if you want.

Hands down my husband and I's favorite brewery. There's a wide variety of beer on tap for just about any palate. Lights, darks, sours, ciders, you name it. Unique, delicious cocktails too!Food is great as well -- it's a big menu with new features all the time. And a super friendly par staff!

"This place has a sports bar-ish feel to it and kind of seems like an old outback steakhouse, but they brew their own beer and it's owned by a young local couple. They have pretty good bar food, and the staff were all fun and friendly. I had the fried pickles, which were pretty solid, though I like fried spears better than fried chips. My friend said his burger hit the spot. There is a nice little patio outside with a few tables that gets good sun.To the right when you walk in there is a larger room that seemed like it was hosting an event, so that might be an option there too."
"It was great!! We loved it! The food was amazing and the service was great! The beer was pretty good too. The only thing was that if you want to sit in the back it's totally different menu. It just like they operate totally different. We ended up sit outside at the front patio because we wanted to order something from the full menu. Don't know why they do that but it was new to us."
"Very friendly and food was great. We stopped on way to Bremen Ohio and it was breakfast time. The avocado toast amazing . We had two kids with us and kids portions were extremely generous, hard to believe they were kids portions. The homemade hot sauce was some of the best I have had. We are so glad we stopped here."
"As a scratch kitchen you cannot go wrong when the food is locally sourced! Excellent customer service coupled with delicious fresh food makes this place a keeper for the community. As a community partner, Crooked Handle has provided incredible support and we so appreciate all they do."
