"Weekend Lunch ReviewQuiet, tasty, but show... would go to again when in the area.Pan fried Pork Dumplings - nice thin dough, not commercial with an interesting sauce that was not the standard soy & sesame mix.Pecan Chicken - thin breading, super moist chicken with a nice sprinkle of candied pecans. Hunan Chicken - Crunchy veggies, moist chicken, moderate sauce... not too salty and not too spicyBoth lunch portions were just the right size... and any item on the menu (except the most expensive specialties) can be turned into a lunch portion!"

Jose C. "I might be what some people consider a balla when it comes to gambling and I've been VIP at the casino since it opened. Being VIP has its perks, like cutting in front of line from the "regular" people at the chips cashout and buffet line and getting a decent amount of gambling and food comps every month.Zen is probably the best bang for your buck when it comes to redeeming food comps. They do not skimp on portion size when it comes to their noodle dishes and everything is made to order. The meat and veggies are always fresh here and they take their time to stir fry so each dishes so you can taste the wok flavor. This isn't the same type of food you get from your standard hole in the wall chinese takeout place. Most of the time I get my order within 10 minutes but if you go late night on a holiday weekend, expect an hour wait. I always leave a tip because they work non - stop most of the time since they take their time cooking each dish. Here are my go to dishes (all noodles):- Singapore noodles - they actually put chinese sausage in it- Hong Kong Wonton Soup - Great broth and shrimp/pork wontons are legit- Cantonese Beef Stew - rich beef broth with fatty beef tendons with always fresh choy sum- Beef He Fun - one of my favorite noodle dishes with big flat rice noodles and beef, you will be full after eating this.- Lomein - Lomein sauce is very good and not as greasy than most places.Their pho is disappointing because I think it's very bland. They cater to a lot of south east asians so they have put that on the menu. I can say I had everything on the menu with the amount of comps I get and each dishes is usually around 10 to 15 bucks. That is actually a decent price if you compare it to las vegas pricing, portion size, and being inside a casino."

Rick L. "Update! Got the Laksa. I literally stumbled on a Bourdain YouTube vid of him in Malaysia eating "laksa" at a street restaurant. One day later I'm in Kent and there is a Japanese/Malay place that I've eaten at before, and loved. This place. And they had laksa on the menu. Asked the waitress which should I get, the Miso Ramen or the Laksa. She said get the Laksa. It was delicious! Had the square wheat noodles, perfectly cooked, great texture and bite. The broth was a fish stock, deep brown, wonderful flavor, and along with the noodles, a few shrimp. Some thinly sliced red onion. Bean sprouts. Cilantro. Few other things, broth not hot, but spicy in a rich delicious way. Wife got a couple spring rolls and a salad with the ginger dressing. She loves that orange ginger dressing you find in some Asian places. We even bought a small container to go. $3! Gave the waitress a good tip for the GREAT tip on the Laksa. Ate every bit, except for all the broth. Wife had some too. She liked it, but is more a Korean Shin Ramen type person. (Oh, and quartered hard boiled egg in it too )I loved it. Kent is a great place to just wander, grab a bite or a meal, admire their predilection for squirrels (yes, squirrels) and grab a beer at one of the cool bars. Give stars for the restaurant. And four stars for Kent!"

Veronica R. "What an amazing spur of the moment time! Our chef Carlos from Venezuela hooked us up! I wish he would cook for me every day with all the fun we had. I had just got my oil changed and my mom and I hadn't ate since the morning and I did not want to go far or wait long for food. I originally decided to get the fast food version directly across the street hibachi. I looked to my left and there was ichiban so I pulled up and was about to look at pricing, then I said you know what let's just go in WHATEVER!Now from previous experiences I already know what happens and how the courses go. I ordered a large hot sake which is my go to. We ordered off the lunch menu for better pricing. I got salmon and fried rice along with steak and fried rice for my mom. I think my sake was bottomless based on how many pours I got lol. Highly recommended. In addition to our main meal we got salad for an appetizer which did not look appetizing. I could only stomach to eat half based on the look and color. The texture and taste of the dressing made me think they put it in a blender with onions. It tasted ok but looked suspicious. Now to the fun part! Our chef was so entertaining and I loved how he got the crowd participating which again is typical but he did it in a more refreshing way. I usually don't eat all my rice due to the large amount but it was the best fried rice hands down I could not stop. I always try and save something for the next day but had non leftover. The salmon was so juicy and not overcooked and the vegetables were sautéed to perfection. All I can say is that I was put in a food coma and it wasn't even 3 o'clock when I got home. Thank you Carl!"

Chirashi sushi was not an authentic style at all. As a Japanese, very disappointing understanding to this dish. Chirashi should have sprinkled eggs, seaweed, and some sweetness on the top but this was just bunch of sashimi on the rice and the price was expensive for the quantity but fish quality was high level. This is a kind of place where you would use for a special date or celebrating."

I usually just go for the veggies with chicken and rice. Flavors here were a bit unusual for my regular dish. The layout they have for Covid is rather excessive and cumbersome, not to mention poorly cleaned and upkept. Their hand sanitizer was something otherworldly.Prices are the usual that you'd expect. Service is fairly quick - you can usually call in an order and get it in 15 minutes. They're not especially friendly, but I suppose that's par for the course. Tons of options on the menu. Chelsea E. "This place is a bit overrated. Not only on the Yelp reviews but also from locals. I had heard about this place from a former coworker who lived in New Albany. She said it was by far the best. So I've had it on my bookmarked list for probably 2-3 years. I live in the Short North so New Albany is out of my way. However, Chinese New Year fell on a Friday this year, so I was like "What the heck?! I'll drive there for a to-go order." What a way to celebrate the Lunar New Year!I'll start with the pros:-Ordering process was seamless. I called it in about 5:30p for a 7:30p pickup and it was ready as soon as I walked in. Just gave them my name, they had me pay and handed me my bag.-Food is well-priced for what you get. All told $11 for a giant portion.-Portion size is its own "pro."- I got the sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice and a Spring roll. The S&S chicken portion easily feeds two. I ate dinner that night and had a heart portion for leftovers the next day.Cons:-Really the main con here is that honestly it's not that good. I felt like the sauce wasn't flavorful enough. I even thought during the 20 minute drive home "shouldn't I be salivating over the delicious aroma of this food?" It smelled like nothing. And when I ate it, there was some flavor, but not much. The cafeteria at my work makes better S&S chicken in my opinion. -No fortune cookie! :( This had to be the first Asian restaurant I've ever gotten takeout from with no fortune cookie. Bummer! All told, I would not go out of my way to come here again. I arguably wouldn't really even go even if I'm in the area. But if a friend really wanted to come here, I'd just do it. Which is my personal standard definition of a "2" rating. Overrated and don't recommend."

It was getting busy so the wait staff were all working hard. Only 2 things to note: don't be in a rush if you come here to eat. The food takes a good while to be prepared and served (but it's SO worth the wait!) The other note is the restaurant itself could use a bit of sprucing up and cleaning. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they did a great job explaining the menu to us since it was our first time. We decided to do the build your own option. The buffet was very very clean! You start by getting your tray and using hand sanitizer. As you go down the line a staff member is very attentive to the stations exchanging the tongs as needed. There was a nice selections of veggies, seafood and meats. At the end there is a seasoning selection as well as several sauces to choose from. Once satisfied you pass the tray to the staff working the grills and once it's done your server will bring it to you. I really wasn't expecting such a huge portion but it was more than enough, I was barely able to finish my bowl. Everything was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. Pro tip: get your rice on the sideI think the pricing is very reasonable, $14.99 for dinner and if you want all you can eat it is a $4 up charge (but honestly we thought one bowl was enough, the food doesn't shrink down like other places). I have to say this far surpasses the other Mongolian bbq spots around town based on flavors, freshness, and cleanliness. I'll definitely be back."

I bought a steak based bowl.Steak cooked like most Asian dishes, sometimes rubbery in mouth but fully cooked, seasoned and flavored. Potatoes I like, same with kale and bean sprouts. I would rather have more of those. I also picked half and half. Half purple rice and half super green salad. (They offer steak, chicken, spicy chicken, and organic tofu.Carrots taste different, cooked in a different oil that I'm not accustomed to or maybe the sauce Gochujang which is supposed to be sweet and spicy I picked but it wasn't my favorite. I don't like it but others appear do. Potatoes, bean sprouts and meats are served hot but quickly get cold when come in contact with cold vegetables. I am not a fan of cold food that is meant to be hot. Purple rice (a healthier alternative they say but I don't know why) didn't add flavor or help according to my taste buds. I added broccoli for 50 cents more. They offer eggs and a few more. Not my favorite but I can see people loving this place. I recommend checking it out and come to your own conclusion. The place is clean and friendly which is also important. One important detail. Location is not good. Between Starbucks and Sports Clips. Starbucks has wrap around drive thru and it is supposed to be one way but drivers drive from either direction and there is no room to maneuver. Traffic is fast behind building which you need to watch out for."

I am always on the prowl for delicious beef chow fun, a Cantonese dish of wide, flat rice noodles with bean sprouts, onion, ginger, and green onions in a soy or brown sauce. The lady said, "You mean beef ho fun?" Being an ABC, I quizzically said, "Sure, if it means a dish with wide noodles?"It's not on the regular menu but they were very accommodating. The dish was fabulous, so I came another time to reorder. She starts speaking to me in Mandarin, so I ask her how she knows Mandarin if she's from Hong Kong? Oi (that's her name) said she learned it because so many customers spoke Mandarin. When I told her my parents are coming to visit, her eyes lit up and she recommended so many dishes she said they would cook for them.Cut to parents' visit: we ordered beef chow fun, ma po tofu, shrimp with honey walnuts, and a steamed flounder that melted in your mouth. I knew what I wanted, and was trying to go in order of their sign, but she kept skipping around to different areas, which threw me off a bit. It may have just been a huge communication thing, because it was hard to hear. What I got was ok... they really skimped on the meat portion here. I probably received the equivalent of 2 tbsps of chicken unfortunately, and with you paying $9+ for a bowl--- That can be a make/break for considering patronage of the truck in future visits. The plus side is that you can make yourself some really healthy options, and it's nice to take a break from the deep fried mess trucks that are all over. They at least win my respect on that end, but the experience unfortunately was not seamless from start to finish. Perhaps better luck next time."
