"My kids apparently have a radar that goes off when they sense a toy shop nearby, because when we were walking through the historic district of Dublin, they walked right to the door of Dublin Toy Emporium and wanted to go inside. This toy store is the cutest! It's inside a little house, and not only are there tons of toys to purchase, but there are some toys set out for kids to play with. My kids gravitated toward the train set on the ground, and the fidgets and pop-its located by the register. The toy store is small, size-wise, but there are a lot of quality toys in here. You can tell that they carefully curate. One room of the toy store is dedicated to games and puzzles -- everything from cooperative games to mancala to dominoes. While we were there, there was a Kindermusik event happening in one of the back rooms. It appeared that it was something that you had to register for in advance, so we didn't pop in and check it out. Dublin Toy Emporium is also one of the stops on the Dublin Irish Fairy Door Trail. You'll find a fairy door inside, in the room immediately to your right when you walk in.If you are looking for a toy for a kid in your life, this is definitely the place to visit!"
"What a cozy shop. It feels like you are visiting someone's home. They have all kinds of candles, home decor and gifts. It is also attached to a really cute womens clothing store, to double your shopping experience. Definitely worth checking out if you are in Grove City."
"Purple Dog offers year round art classes, summer and holiday art camps, workshops and parties primarily for kids and young artists as well as adults. The focus is on inspiring young artists to discover their creativity through drawing, painting and sculpture to clay and mixed media...and most of all having fun."
"This is a small but mighty specialty knitting shop jam packed with every kind of yarn you could imagine. The owner Andrea walked us through how all of the yarns are organized. She offers classes, events and open knit hours in the front sitting area and back table in the store. On the day that my mother and I visited, there was a group of ladies knitting, chatting and having a good old time. Loved the sense of community here."
"This was my first paint & sip, and it was a great experience. The studio is very cute, with completed paintings decking all the walls. We sat two to each table. The owner (I am assuming her name is Kym) was very helpful, as were her daughter and son who were helping her out. They gave advice during the session, and brought fresh water to rinse paintbrushes. They came with more paint when we requested it. They also helped us blowdry the canvasses. It was the instructor's first time and he did great. I am not an artist and don't consider myself creative, so I was a bit nervous, but it turned out just fine. You can book and pay online, after choosing the day by whatever painting you want to create. All you need to bring is your own wine; they have available corkscrews and stemless glasses. I look forward to returning to create more art!"
"My niece has been taking art camp classes here for a little over a year and she loves it! Her marks in art at school have improved tremendously and she has so much fun with the other kiddos in each class she takes and with the super patient instructors (I teach high school and can't imagine having a group of 8yos all at once...that is my nightmare and the instructors here are saints!) It is so affordable ($30 for an art camp day session) and nice to know in advance what the craft for that day will be, that way we can avoid any repeat crafts."
"Had an absolutely fabulous experience at tonight's class. The owner and her assistant were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. They provided lots of instruction. The shop was very clean & well organized. They answered all my questions and offered some great suggestions and guidance. Can't wait to go back for another class."
"I love Young at Art, and I'm so glad I got to visit this place with my family when we were in Lancaster. We visited to try out the Splatter Studio, which is pretty much what it sounds like: it's a studio that you can visit to make splatter paintings. We got outfitted with goggles, aprons and other protective gear, then headed into a room with lots of neon paint and a few blank canvases. The lights were turned off, the music was turned on, and were allowed to splatter and throw paint against the canvases to create our own individual paintings. It was a therapeutic -- and fun, and messy -- experience for my whole family. After we were done, we got to take home our artwork that we had created together.I don't usually like to make a mess, so splatter painting is not an activity that I usually would have sought out myself. But I'm glad that I tried it! Like I said, it was very cathartic and therapeutic. Slinging paint against a wall is a big stress reliever, believe it or not. And my kids, who are used to people telling them not to get messy and throw things, were super excited to get messy and throw things. This was a fun art activity for everyone. The owner of Young at Art, Karla, is a local art teacher, which is really neat. Along with the splatter studio, she also offers art classes and art lessons, as well as canvas painting parties. Karla is very friendly and made us feel at home in her studio during our painting session. If you're looking for a unique art activity for all ages, you need to visit Young at Art and try the splatter studio."
"We had the most amazing time together, creating crafts and memories! Private party for our future bride to be...the girls were so kind and patient with our group!! The oil bar selection was wonderful! We made stained glass window hangings as well! Cute shop with quality handmade gifts and a crafty shop for your events!!"
"We had an absolute blast here. Baby K's birthday, 10 of her friends and family painting. They loved it. I loved it. Sweetie was overwhelmed by other peoples' children, but she loved the place and staff. They were super helpful and friendly from the very start of planning, and on the day of they were so patient and helpful. I can't imagine dealing with this many kids, this often. (There were a few adult groups there too, but the place was about half full and 90% of those were kids.) They have so many options to paint: canvas, ceramic, wood, etc. Many samples on the walls, many items on shelves to choose from. Staff dealt with kids of all ages, showing up early and late, changing their minds, and much more. If you don't finish in time (we had two hours, and never felt rushed,) you can come back some other day to finish. Cost was reasonable for the time, materials, and service. The parking lot is a bit small for the amount of customers at a peak time; car shop next door, but not a whole lot of room in general. Inside, plenty of room, plenty of tables, everything well organized. We'll definitely be back."
"Heads up: New location and new name! Previously known throughout Columbus as Glass Axis, now the Columbus Glass Art Center, is a non-profit org offering glass blowing and glass art classes to the general public, no membership needed! I went to their Grand Opening of their new building and the space, and it's fantastic! Ample space for several different glass art technique classes. The teachers I met are absolutely wonderful, too! Willing to help/guide if necessary, creative minds, and just plain genuine and personable. I got the chance to make a glass mosaic (think glass art to hand in a window) and a simple smoking pipe (torch melting glass and all!), and it was phenomenal! I'm seriously looking into taking a few classes; and, besides, I know my money is going to an excellent org that's promoting art, culture, and creative partnerships throughout central Ohio!"
"This has been far the best party venue I have ever hosted a party at. This venue is so big and has the most beautiful art I have ever seen. You can host any kind of party ranging from a birthday party , baby shower, wedding, reception to a fashion show! The other best thing about this venue is the owners Mike and Marcus. They are so nice, helpful as well as professional! Don't hesitate to contact Modern Organix for your future event. I know i will!"

Stopped in while doing the Dublin Fairy Door Trail. Impressive place, bigger than it looks, several rooms winding around. Loads of interesting toys, large and small. Really hard to walk out without any. But "mama won't be happy with either of us if we bring another toy home" works most of the time.Educational stuff, costumes, dolls, goofy little trinkets, big playsets, just so much. Well worth a visit, though maybe come alone and shop for birthdays or Xmas, because if you bring your kid, they are going to give you the business.

Andrea the owner was very welcoming when I went for the first time. She showed me around then left me be to look and absorb all the colors and thoughtful displays. I was very happy to heAr her dog usually presides in the store although he took a day off that day. I will return because I keep thinking about that owl project bag.

I had the pleasure of attending a "Paint and Pour for Pelatonia" fundraiser organized by a coworker of mine. The event was well organized, as the canvas/paints/brushes/smocks are all provided. The activity itself was SO much fun! We ate pizza, sipped on wine and paint to our heart's content! Even though we had a large party of about 30 painters, the instructors, Anna, came around and helped me several times, even showing me what I needed to do and offering feedback. She was supportive and helpful. Despite my dreadful painting, I LOVED my experience with Art with Anna. I especially loved that the money raised went to support cancer research at the James.

Talked with owner when we entered. Very pleasant and spent time with us explaining the different classes. We had booked a Splatter session. We had a great time and will suggest this place to our friends. They have many classes just for kids

"We in Columbus are incredibly lucky to have a place like Igloo. They're doing letterpress the cool, old-school way... with machines that are much older than me! I've had the pleasure of visiting their print shop and the retail shop several times, and I'm always like a kid in a candy store. The staff are always so kind, and they love talking about their work. And the retail store sells so many Ohio and Columbus goodies--I want to spend hundreds of dollars every time I'm there! Seriously, this is the best selection of cards, calendars, and other paper products in the city!"
"When I first moved here about 5 years ago I had the most basic understanding of glazes, glaze technique, clay specifics or really anything "technical" regarding Ceramics.I'd only bought clay from a Ceramics Store or Michaels in the past, so a formal ceramics store was *~*InTiMiDaTiNg*~* (I'm not a real artist ya'll)!!!I'd taken some impromptu lessons in a makerspace with Wichita State University Ceramics Adjunct Prof. Susan DeWitt (and she was an invaluable & loving guide!!)-- but no critiqued or graded courses! Buckeye Ceramics Supply staff is knowledgeable, friendly (once they warm up to you ) and reliable! Susan Mahoney ( I was blessed with TWO SUE's in the god craft of Pottery) -- while she worked here was a graceful and warm representative; I love that having an account at Buckeye Ceramics helps me organize my inventory and track my firings (They call when a piece of artwork has an issue in the Kiln, or when your artwork successfully completes firing). They offer studio memberships at attractive and fair rates for a compared metro area.Seasonally they give away freebies as they clean out the glazes etc from the studio workshop/classroom. Hey Introverts!Since I've been a customer I've seen their stocking change to include small local/artisan made tools which I LOVE! For example: Dirty Girls Bats. Hopefully one day they'll have Garrity Tools, or Elan Transfers, Plum Island etc etc.. but you never know what you'll find unless you frequent! BCS is in perpetual artistic motion If you're Ceram-Curious or a Master you'd be a fool not to stop by!!! ***During Covid 19 beginnings they actively contact traced too btw. ***"
"I rented the whole space for my product launch party. Through the whole experience I felt supported and cared for. The space is clean, bright, and easily accessible. It was just what I was looking for."
"I always have such a nice time here. Tonight, I took a Christmas card making class and left with 6 cards good enough to use. We started with the easiest one and gradually got more complex. It was fun and I felt free to get creative if I wanted. There were three other students there. This is really a unique small business. Inspiring U only teaches crafts. They don't sell craft stuff. You sign up for a very reasonably priced class, bring what is described, and you leave having learned something new."
"I have been to Hawaii Fluid Art multiple times and each time Angelina has been great. I have done multiple painting types including resins canvases and water bottles. Angelina was very patient with the kids and very informative to the adults. We had a wonderful and will be back for more classes."
"This is a cute art studio that offers periodic classes for kids, teens, and adults, hosts birthday parties, and offers camps throughout the year. The instructors are great with the kids - friendly and engaging - and the projects are a lot of fun. If they tell you to dress for mess, they're not kidding! But it's worth it for how much fun it is! Some of the activities we've enjoyed here include paint pouring, splatter paint, salt painting, drawing, pointillism, and more. The studio is located in the mallway area, which offers parking near the studio and also in front and back of the shops."
"Great cup of Joe. I'm not a fan of sweet coffee drinks so just a medium roast coffee for me. I stopped twice in the same day."
"I have now taken two sessions of hand-building ceramics classes at the Peggy McConnell Arts Center and have enjoyed the experience thus far.The studio space itself is well-maintained, organized, and conducive to a productive and focused creative process. They offer all the tools you need to create and additional clay can be purchased throughout the session if needed. The selection of glazes that they offer to finish your projects are beautiful.Additionally, the Peggy McConnell Arts Center frequently hosts events and exhibitions that provide opportunities for students to showcase their work and connect with the local art community."
"We had a fun date night painting at Spaghetti Warehouse with Zachariah teaching us. He really took time with each person to make sure the painting was turning out well, even though the class was quite large! All the supplies are provided as well as a Paint Nite or Yaymaker apron to wear to protect your clothes. Some of the methods we used to paint meant our aprons weren't quite large enough, but fortunately we got the specks out of our clothes when we got home. This event did not include any food or drinks, but they are held at locations where you can purchase such items. We had an enjoyable time and would do it again!"
"Excellent new gallery in the Short North. Owner Josh is an accomplished ceramicist and now he is an accomplished gallery owner. Make sure you make a visit next time you are in the Short North. We came for Michael Rosen's show opening. Excellent work!"
"Maureen is awesome. I attended a small paint & sip on a weeknight, thanks to Karen M. It is a part of a larger studio in Franklinton. I not only created my own little work of art with Maureen's help, but also purchased a print of hers, and a work of another artist in the same studio. She is a self-taught artist who really helped us do our best work. She gave lots of instruction and helpful tips to help us create.I really recommend her classes. She said she also does kid classes and will go to your location as well as using this studio. I look forward to taking another class!"
"My experience at The Party Studio was amazing. I found discounted passes on Amazon Local and proceeded to make a date at TPS. Making a reservation was mostly painless, although slightly confusing. You have to do everything on the TPS website. You go to the calendar and choose the class you want to attend based on the picture you'd like to paint. You add that picture to your cart and then checkout. On the day of your event, you just show up (with snacks and beverages, if you'd like) and choose a seat. Canvases on easels are already set up and paper plates of paint are brought to you by the instructors. Attendees start the class in their seats but eventually everyone is standing... drinking, laughing and trying to perfect their art. And there's music playing in the background...it was literally an art party in there! Our instructors were also awesome. They're names escape me but I think the main instructor was Tami and the co-instructor was her son...Andrew(?). These two were adorable and were really helpful in making our paintings great.I highly recommend this place for a fun night out :). And try not confuse your paint water cup with your wine cup...hahaha"
"Great space and nice way to learn and try printing. The instructions were clear and our end results were good. We made prints using paper that was light sensitive. So really neat images were captured on paper. The building is still a work in progress so don't let the raw wood scare you away."
"Had an absolute blast tonight at AR Workshop!!! Me & 2 friends from work went and we laughed so much and made absolutely beautiful signs. Mackenzie was the BEST EVER!!! She helped us with every step and was hilarious. Sooooo much fun!! We will definitely be back. Thank you for the perfect Friday night."
"Didn't realize this place existed! Family from out of town new about it and wanted to go.There's 3 gift shops all with artists works for sale. The place was in between displays so there was little art on display. This place is associated with Winterfair for Columbus and Cincinnati.Anxious to go back again to see their new exhibits."
"What a fun and relaxing way to spend the afternoon. I have never been to a PYOP before and it far exceeded my expectations. We were able to make a reservation ahead of time and they had our table all set up when we arrived. The owner and one of the employees were so welcoming, and they gave us a quick overview of where to find everything. They have tons of pottery pieces to pick from and the prices of each piece are labeled on the shelf. You pick what you want to paint and away you go!They had tons of supplies - brushes, paints, stencils, stamps, etc. We had coffees from across the street and were able to bring those in. Music was great and just added to the overall experience. When you are done, you turn your pieces in for firing and they give you a pickup date for the finished product about 14 days out (currently). I am excited to see how our artwork turned out."
"Terra Gallery is well-suited to the Olde Dublin downtown area. The gallery's owner, Jeff Hersey, is a real renaissance gent who has disciplines in metal sculpture, music and real people skills. There are many types and styles of art and design which Terra Gallery house. One of the watercolor artists who regularly has he work there is Karen Groeniger. Small paintings and large paintings, both, can be viewed and purchased at Terra Gallery.Popularity of Terra Gallery has allowed Jeff to expand the operation into the area which was once an olive oil distributor. The timing of the expansion couldn't have come at a better time with the new Bridge Street complex across the river coming along quickly.Jeff/Terra Gallery continues to promote a Dublin gallery hop event with locals participating. And there are some evening and weekend events such as a "Painting Night & Wine" that is sometimes offered. Sounds like fun! I would encourage everyone interested in art and design to pop-in to Terra Gallery and visit with Jeff. The local artists will thank you and you'll thank yourself."
"Lovely store. They had a pattern that 8 other stores didn't have. The store is I'm a basement and broken into different rooms. One room had little knick knacks like wind chimes and bee themed gifts. Another room themed fabric like patriotic or the ohio shop hop.The two ladies working were also great. Very friendly and engaging."
"I think this may be the last bead store in Columbus, so it's a good thing it's nice! I look for pretty specific stuff in stores like this, so I'm not the typical jewelry customer, but they had a decent selection of beads I can use for knitting, along with jewelry stuff and other bead sizes galore. Pricing is on par with other shops (I paid like $13 for I think five tubes of beads) and service was quite friendly."
"One of my favorite shops in Clintonville. It's full of fun and eclectic gifts adorned with original hand lettering and artwork. If you're having having a bad day, this is the place you go to turn that frown upside down; the vibe is bright, encouraging, and light-hearted and every single item in the shop reflects that. There are classes too--I've never taken one yet.The hours are a little tricky sometimes since it's owner run and operated, so I suggest calling first before you make a trip out there."
"We absolutely loved having our daughters birthday party here! They helped with everything and made her day so special! I loved it! I would highly recommend for anyone planning an under 5 birthday party this was amazing and so easy and relaxing!! They entertained the kids and the play area was awesome!"
