Butcher and Rose was an exceptional dining experience and very beautiful decor and atmosphere. We started with the steak tartare that was light and fresh and paired well with the brioche toast. For dinner we had the beef Wellington, which was rich, tender, and cooked to perfection and a lobster tail. To complement the meal, the sommelier Jeff, was great and selected the perfect bottle of wine for us to enjoy. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the crème brûlée--the best I've ever had anywhere, with it's a decadent balance of sweet and savory flavors. The impeccable service and attention to detail make Butcher and Rose a must-visit.

The good is the food is pretty good. i don't think i would spend the money on the wagyu because it just didn't taste any different. i always get my steaks oscar style and i will say the way they do it i really likes. big piece of crab instead of small chunks like other places .one of the only negatives is the price. it's just really , really expensive . it's good but maybe a once a year place.

Photo is of the delicious crème brûlée I had. My cousin had his 28th birthday dinner here. I ordered a simple side salad add chicken. The waitress asked if I wanted the fish that came on the salad (can't remember what the fish is called) and I immediately responded no because I don't eat fish. I was glad she asked because I hadn't read that on the menu (not saying it's not there but I just didn't read it). The food comes and I start shredding my chicken and mixing it into my salad. I go to take a bite and something is off. I start picking through my plate and there lies the fish that the waitress literally asked if I wanted. I spit the food out and wave down the waitress. She apologizes and brings me fries while I wait for my order to be fixed. She brings the food and I put it up and order my dessert. She brings the checks and my bill is nearly $100 (not bad for a steakhouse). As you can imagine I'm confused so I take a look at the bill and they took the meal they majorly messed up off and recharged me for the one they bought back. I don't know about anyone else but usually when the restaurant messes up they eat the cost of the meal. The waitress told me that since they fixed it and I kept it they would charge me. Me not wanting to make a scene I just ate my dessert and paid the bill. Bottom line for me is had it not been a preference but an allergy Butcher + Rose would've had bigger problem on their hands and I still WOULD'VE PAID FOR MY MEAL ! How does the waitress ask if I want something I respond no and you still put it on the plate, then have the NERVE to charge me for it. Y'all charge too much to be making minor mistakes like that. Like I said before $100 at a steakhouse isn't bad BUT I DIDN'T EVEN GET A STEAK!! I paid that for a chicken salad, a crème brûlée and cocktail. I actually believe the waitress thinks the fries she gave me made the situation even. The dining space is unique and beautifully decorated perfect for photos and content but sadly I won't be recommending or returning to Butcher + Rose.

Having dined at several Cameron Mitchell restaurants across the country, I was excited to dine at the new Butcher & Rose steakhouse in downtown Columbus. This restaurant projects a different vibe than most steakhouses which are dimly lit, with leather chairs and white tablecloths. With a combination of booths and tables, the contemporary dining room is bright and airy, with floral arrangements hanging from the ceiling. I was impressed to learn Cameron Mitchell has a practice of transferring staff from other locations to a new restaurant to allow it to open with fewer of those new restaurant hiccups. My host, a local, was elated that Remy was our server. He was superb. What's really impressive is it offers cuts of meats from across the world, including A5 Wagyu from Japan. I started my meal with the decadent French Onion Soup. It was classically prepared and oh so good. The Beef Wellington is considered by many to be the restaurant's signature dish, and three of my dining partners selected it. They were wowed! I opted for the 16-ounce prime Ribeye which was perfectly prepared and super tasty. I typically order a classic baked potato with a steak, but decided to try the Potato Anna. This French dish resembles a plate of perfectly aligned potato slices cooked with lots of butter. And the martinis were delish. I wish Butcher & Rose gave your drink a final shake at your table before serving it. I love blue cheese olives with my drink, but they serve tiny olives. You might ask them for something bigger. There are so many incredible menu options we didn't get to experience on this first visit, so another meal is in order.

This is our favorite new restaurant that opened in 2024! We've been twice and not only am I in love with the rose decor the service and foods are exceptional too! We dined in on both our anniversary and my birthday. The Rose cocktail was beautifully crafted with an ice cube with roses inside. As beautiful as it was it was also delightful! We ordered the baked scallops to start and the Parker house rolls. Both exceeded our expectations! For our entrees we had the beef Wellington and the lamb chops. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious! They offer a complimentary dessert if you are celebrating- we went for the honey cake and we're not disappointed! Already planning our next trip!

If you want to enjoy this place, you have two options, get reservations well in advance or get there early for a seat at the bar. We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday and were able to snag the last 2 seats. By 6, there was a slew of people waiting to be seated. The bartenders were all wonderful and very attentive. We got everything we wanted and it was delicious. The pictures don't do it justice. We skipped on dessert because the size was too big for our appetite after our meals but this would be the perfect place for drinks and dessert to share with friends.

I went to B&R a few nights ago to celebrate the holidays. The good:- The service was incredible, similar to high-end restaurants in bigger cities. We loved the sommelier who talked through wine options with us. Our server was great, knowlegable and timely. - The ambiance is fancy and festive. The decor was gorgeous and interesting. The meh:- Sadly, the food was "okay", particularly considering the price point. I wouldn't say it was mindblowing by any stretch of the imagination. It was good - yes - but a bit on the salty side and nothing seemed too imaginative or unique. The flavors just weren't forward enough for my tastes when I'm dining at a nicer spot.I'd go again, but maybe more for a happy hour drink and an app.

Hands down 5 stars here! I highly recommend the Butcher and Rose and it exceeded any expectations! It was the perfect night out with friends. The ambience and service were exquisite, and the food was simply the best. Butcher and Rose had been on our list for a while, so when friends suggested grabbing some dinner before the holidays, I immediately thought of this spot. I did make a reservation via OpenTable two weeks in advance, which I highly recommend a reservation as the place was packed and upon booking the spots were filling up.We were warmly greeted upon arrival and seated after a short wait. My partner grabbed a house cabernet ($17) at the bar, which he loved, and the coat check was a nice touch. Throughout the meal, service was excellent and I would say attentive without feeling rushed. We sat in the main area with seating, kitchen, and bar but there appeared to be another dining area and there is also an upstairs with lavatories and lounge and some other space. An elevator is in the area for accessibility if needed as well but those stairs are fun to ascend and make a reentrance into the dining area.As for the food, it's on the higher price side, but worth it. Chris and I ordered:Starters:-Parker House Bread (homemade with cultured butter) - $13-Lobster Bisque (butter-poached lobster) - $19Dinner:-14oz USDA Prime New York Strip - $63-16oz USDA Prime Ribeye - $67And he had a glass of Greg Norman cabernet sauvignon with dinner - $24For sides, we ordered several for the table, including:-Glazed Carrots (parsnip puree, pistachio crumble) - $14-Baked Mac & Cheese (aged cheddar, gruyere) - $14-Potato Anna (roasted garlic, parmesan cream) - $15Every dish was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The steaks were some of the best we've ever had, and the sides were amazing with the Mac & Cheese and Carrots being my favorites. I didn't catch what type of steaks our friends ordered, but they loved the food as well. Additionally, the other menu items I saw floating around like burgers, salads, and salmon looked fantastic. The inside was elegant and sophisticated, with a balanced noise level. It felt inviting and vibrant but not overwhelming, even for a full house. For parking, there is Valet available for $25, or you can self-park nearby, but plan for a min of two hours. We stayed for about 2.5 hours, and it was worth every moment. I recommend and absolutely would be back but going to give my checking account time to settle first. You can check out their menus at https://butcherandrose.com

We had such a wonderful time here. Our server, Jamie, was so kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. The drinks were great and some even had a fun presentation to go with it. The entrees were divine and there was so much food. I was so stuffed by dessert, which also was giant! The price was worth it and we will be returning.
