When I first moved here about 5 years ago I had the most basic understanding of glazes, glaze technique, clay specifics or really anything "technical" regarding Ceramics.I'd only bought clay from a Ceramics Store or Michaels in the past, so a formal ceramics store was *~*InTiMiDaTiNg*~* (I'm not a real artist ya'll)!!!I'd taken some impromptu lessons in a makerspace with Wichita State University Ceramics Adjunct Prof. Susan DeWitt (and she was an invaluable & loving guide!!)-- but no critiqued or graded courses! Buckeye Ceramics Supply staff is knowledgeable, friendly (once they warm up to you ) and reliable! Susan Mahoney ( I was blessed with TWO SUE's in the god craft of Pottery) -- while she worked here was a graceful and warm representative; I love that having an account at Buckeye Ceramics helps me organize my inventory and track my firings (They call when a piece of artwork has an issue in the Kiln, or when your artwork successfully completes firing). They offer studio memberships at attractive and fair rates for a compared metro area.Seasonally they give away freebies as they clean out the glazes etc from the studio workshop/classroom. Hey Introverts!Since I've been a customer I've seen their stocking change to include small local/artisan made tools which I LOVE! For example: Dirty Girls Bats. Hopefully one day they'll have Garrity Tools, or Elan Transfers, Plum Island etc etc.. but you never know what you'll find unless you frequent! BCS is in perpetual artistic motion If you're Ceram-Curious or a Master you'd be a fool not to stop by!!! ***During Covid 19 beginnings they actively contact traced too btw. ***

Love this place! Great Mayco and Potter's Choice, etc glazes and any other ceramic need you have. Loads of tools, stencils, great displays and work areas for classes. Folks here are always willing to answer my product and technique questions. Large selection of clay bodies, many in small 2 lb increments so that you can easily test them without buying a whole box.if I want it, they've got it or can get it. We potters are super lucky to have the Mayco factory and their storefront,Buckeye Ceramics, in our city! Lots of great classes and they bring well known artists in to teach workshops. Special classes/events geared to teachers. Discount for COCA members.

I walked in and no one greeted me and no one offered to help me after I had been walking around even though there were two girls at the counter on their cell phones talking to each other. When I asked about a piece I was interested in they advised me if its not out they can't go on the back to get it unless I wanted to buy the entire box. I'll be going back to Adobe Ceramics from now on!
