Wow. Why haven't I been here sooner?! Everything we tried on the menu was full of flavor. Brisket stands on its own. Good flavor. Juicy not dry. And then the sauces! Every one of them is a home run, hard to pick a favorite. I'll need more visits to discern which one comes out on top.Hands down the corn casserole is my favorite side. The baked beans seemed standard but with a nice cinnamon twist. The venue has a nice modern upscale BBQ feel, super comfortable. We were here late Saturday afternoon, and service was fast. Will come again!

We really wanted to like this place. Great smell when you walk in. We stopped for a quick bite. Ordered 10 piece smoked wings and shotgun shells with a side of baked beans. Sweet tea to drink.Service was great! Tea was weak and as the hubby said the beans were sweeter than the tea. The baked beans were on the sweet side and soon would become mush. They baked the I'm eating beans snap. We tried all 4 of the sauces on the table. Nothing to write home. Serviceable.Next up the wings and shotgun shells arrived. The shotgun shells are made in advance and reheated. Ours can out cool with a chilled center. Sent them back for reheat. Not something we would order again. Bland beef wrapped in a manicotti shell, wrapped in flavorless bacon and smothered in the sweet and spicy sauce. The wings, enjoyed the rub, but the wings would remind you of trying to chew a dog toy

Stopped in here on a Saturday night expecting it to be crowded but was the only table. Service was mediocre for being the only table. The complimentary crackers were delicious. They had a nice seasoning. I ordered the pork sundae. It had a nice amount of Mac and cheese covered with grilled onions and pulled pork. I added a little more BBQ sauce. There was 4 different BBQ sauces available at the table. Overall nice dinner for the price.

Had wanted to try Bob's since I saw it in Lancaster. We went to the newer location in Pickerington. It's not overly huge inside, nicely decorated with a southern/country vibe. It was around 5:30 on a Saturday night and we were the only table in the place. I will say there were several tame out orders that came through. Service was standard. The crackers are complementary and have a good seasoning to them. I opted for a sandwich and the corn casserole. The sandwich was good, it was pulled white meat chicken with a great sauce mixed in. The bun seemed to be brioche. The corn pudding was good. A bit dryer than I expected. The sweetness was well balanced. Prices were on par even slightly below the other bbq places I've been to. Good value for the money.

Decided to head out and check out Bob's Backyard Bar-B-Q in Pickerington. They do all their smoking with apple wood to give a nice smooth taste to the meat. This is a different version of the Lancaster business. Very stylish interior with a lot of wood used. Lighting is very cool. Plans are for them to have a liquor license soon.On to the important stuff, the food. I ordered the Dressed Up Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mac N Cheese, Baked Beans and Cheesy Potatoes. The sandwich had good amount of pork on it, fried onions added a big difference to the sandwich. The sauce that they use for it is homemade as all their sauces are. The Mac and cheese was a baked version which had a nice cheesy flavor. The Baked Beans were made with cinnamon which typically places go overboard with, this was just a light touch. On to Cheesy Potatoes, they were made perfectly, using a riced potatoes and a nice blend of cheese, baked to perfection. Crazy as it be the star of the show was something they give you for FREE at the beginning of the meal which was a sort of oyster crackers that are buttery with seasoning on them. Yummmy!!! Now on to service. My waitress was Kendall, she was amazing, checking on me and giving refills on my drink. A special treat was that I got to sit down and talk with Jared the Manager for a bit. He told me a lot of the background of the business. So cool to hear a lot of the back stories to businesses. Then if things weren't good enough already. Bob the owner shows up and comes in and I was able to chat with him for a few minutes. This is a very new restaurant and everyone should come out and check it out.

Latest opening of a nearby city of Lancaster classic restaurant in downtown Ole' Pickerington. We enjoyed the Shotgun Shells appetizer and delicious dishes: Pulled Pork Meal with Baked Beans and the Ultimate Brisket Sundae. My kids enjoyed their hotdogs with kettle chips. Reasonably priced for excellent barbecue. Service was exceptional, quick and prompt. Rustic looking ambiance with more potential to come on the decorating.

What kind of a BBQ place doesn't have ribs on their menu! Brisket was super salty, might as well have just added beans to maple syrup and bbq sauce. Plain coleslaw. When I didn't see ribs on the menu I knew this place wasn't gonna meet my expectations.

We ordered Bob's Backyard BBQ while having a couple of beers at Combustion. We got brisket, pulled pork, and shredded chicken, along with several sides of Mac n Cheese, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, and side salads. I just read in their site that they lightly smoke their meat to appeal to the masses. Well, that makes sense because the brisket and pork had almost zero smoke nor much of a rub. While the chicken was pretty smokey there wasn't much seasoning. The brisket and pork were of a high quality and tasted good, but more roasted than smoked. The chicken was also high quality and tasted good but again, while smokey a little lacking. The sides were solid and the proportions were generous. I enjoy smoking meat and with all due respect have a different BBQ philosophy than Bob's, which is fine. Some people like R&B and some like Country music. Some people like IPAs and some like light beers. I like my BBQ with a lot of smoke and a healthy amount of rub. Only sharing my experience not to be critical simply to be critical, just letting you know what to expect. Expect high quality food, generous proportions, just not very BBQ-y BBQ food. BBQ Lite? If you like that type of BBQ, you will think Bob's perfect I hope Bob's flourishes, we need more small businesses and restaurants in Pickerington. We would go back and would recommend. Rounding up to 4 stars

I ordered a Large Cuban sandwich and mac'n cheese. The "large" sandwich was smaller than your typical sandwich bread. It included pulled pork(smallish serving) and 2 pickles. No ham, no mustard and no cheese! The side of mac n cheese was $5 extra! It tasted like what you could make at home out of a box. Smallish serving.I have never felt more ripped off.Cost was $15 and that was after $3 off coupon.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich for take out. When I arrived to pick up the food there was live music, a guitar player who sounded good, but the music was so loud that it was difficult to communicate with the cashier. When I got home and began to eat the sandwich it was a fail! The bread was grilled, but very chewy and was not the right bread for a Cuban. It was mediocre with nothing noteworthy about the sandwich except maybe the pickle. I know a good Cuban and this was a poor attempt.
