I used to go to the one farther west all the time, when I lived in the area. We still went there once in awhile the last few years. Hadn't been to this one, I don't think; today I was nearby, and it's probably the first and last time I'll go.A bit run down inside. Friendly service. Big menu. Loads of fresh bagels, and a few other baked goods. I got a bagel with lox cream cheese spread, and onions and tomatoes on top. It was good. I also got a bag o' bagels to go. K liked the apple cinnamon, and I got an assortment for the adults.Cheap. Good. Nostalgic. Gone soon. Get here before March 2nd.

Updated review! I tried a plain and sesame seed bagel. They are good. For the Midwest, an absolutely solid bagel but still not as good as the ones on the East coast. However for the area these hit the spot and I definitely will be back. The bagel was much better than the other sandwich I had and improved my previous review by 1star.

An east Columbus staple, Blocks is always a great hit from the standpoint of food. Very much a NY deli with Jewish roots, and sometimes a bit of the NY "attitude " to go with it.If you know what you want and how their system works (food orders in the line to the left, bagel and bread selections to the right) you'll fit right in.If they had pork sausage and bacon instead of the turkey variety, I'd bump up the rating. The lox is the real deal, though!Highly recommend their fresh baked challah bread, especially if they have any with raisins. The feel is definitely 70's or 80's, I doubt much has changed since then. It's definitely been the same look and feel since I first visited in the mid 90's.

The customer service was pretty good, the ambiance was the same. It was nice to sit next to a table of men who seemed like they had been going there for years and meeting up to catch up. They were kind and polite. The food was incredible, I want to bring my husband and parents here. The prices were great too.

John Anderson sang about it. "Goin' Down Hill".I hate the honesty of this, but, to be fair the quality has declined significantly in ten years. The sandwiches (combo #9 and Chicken #14) were a disgrace. Didn't taste like quality Corned beef, processed flavourless chicken. The thinnest sliced Challah that actually disintegrated as it was being eaten. The bathrooms are clearly never checked. There is no longer daily maintenance attention paid to them. If so, it's incredibly subpar. The dining room is acceptable but could be much cleaner.Highlights are the wonderful workers who try so hard and they still have great tasting bagels with a nice variety. More options on the smear would be nice, but, not necessary. 06/24

Very sad. Columbus' best bagel shop even as a shadow of its former self. Goodbye, Blocks.

My dad picked up bagels from here while I was staying over with him and they were quite good. Not quite as good as the ones you get in major east coast cities but still very good.

We hit this spot in Reynoldsburg on our way to the east side of town. We love Blocks Bagels (Kroger used to carry them) and thought we'd give the deli a shot. Not our best idea. We walked in and the line was five people deep with one person helping behind the counter. We ordered and completely threw the workers into chaos. Not sure who was covering who, no idea what we ordered. I ordered a number four, grilled salami OR bologna with grilled onions and hot mustard. First they had to check the menu to confirm what it was, at least twice. They wanted to give me both, which didn't make much sense to me. Then I was asked if I wanted my grilled salami hot or cold? Really? Son got a hot dog which came out lukewarm and the wife got an egg sandwich with cheese and turkey sausage, which was fine but she had to tell the people behind the counter at least four times what her order was. They even asked my wife if the egg sandwich should be made in the grill. She actually told my wife, "I hope I got this right..." At times, all the workers disappeared completely. Maybe working the grill? Who knows? Food was meh, service was rough and the whole place was rather drab.

I had the pleasure of going to Block's Bagels on McNaughten road today. If I could have left a zero rating, I would have done so. The restaurant was dirty and the services was awful. We were 3rd in line and there were 5 people behind the counter. After the people in front of us were helped, every worker disappeared. There we waited for 8 minutes when one person came back and she had no idea what she was doing. Now, as for the food, it was awful. Smallest sandwiches I have ever encountered in a deli. They should probably just close that location.
