Black Fork Bistro

Great find on a camping weekend. The wife didn't want to cook and stopped in here. Started out with the Bavarian pretzel. 100% approved and the spicy mustard was great. I have the Rueben which was great and my wife's margarita pizza was huge, tasty too. Had a couple drinks from the menu and happy with those too. Looking forward to our next trip to Mohican to stop again.

Disappointed - pictured is what you get for 30.00 with tip and service fee to take out. Hamburger tasted average more like an 8.00 /10.00 hamburger - "kick" in their monthly burger definitely wasn't there and sadly, the sweet potato fries were inedible - soggy - way too soggy to actually eat... Split them between two dogs. Really wanted to enjoy it but it just wasn't their day maybe? Doubt I'll be returning.

Stopped in with my wife and Mom on Sunday. Did not realize they could not serve cocktails on Sunday so we made do with beer! My wife ordered a sausage and green olive pizza, mom their monthly burger special, while I ordered their poutine appetizer as a main course. Our meals came out a little slow, probably due to the large table seated just before us. When our meals arrived, my wife thought the pizza was a bit doughy. Mom thought her spicy peanut butter bacon burger was yummy! The poutine was amazingly delicious! I took half home as it was huge!! Overall we had a great visit!

The Black Fork Bistro is located in a small, quaint town (Loudonville) and literally makes you feel like you just stepped into a scene from a Hallmark Christmas movie. The bistro is rather small in size, but makes you feel welcomed as soon as you step inside. While we were there, slow 50s/60s music played in the background while it snowed outside making the atmosphere feel romantic to me. I absolutely loved the feeling that I had while I was there. However, the food - shared a different story (insert pouty face). Bavarian Pretzel - The pretzel was served warm and tasted good! While we enjoyed the honey mustard sauce for dipping, we were not big fans of the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was watered down and lacked flavor. Grown Up Grilled Cheese (waitress recommendation) - I really wanted to enjoy this based on the menu description; however, this was not good at all! The description on the menu states "Caramelized Onion, Tomato, Bacon, Brie, Cheddar, and Mozzarella on Sourdough". This sounds delicious, right? However, it was not delicious! You would think that everything would be blended and melted together to create an ooey, gooey sandwich, but that is not how the sandwich turned out. This was more of a basic sandwich layered with various cheeses versus a warm grilled cheese sandwich packed full of melted cheeses and flavor.Tomato Basil Soup (another waitress recommendation) - Just look at my picture. This was a hard no for me! Instead of a bowl of warm, creamy tomato soup - I got a bowl of stewed tomatoes. While I thought that the grilled cheese sandwich was disappointing, this topped the sandwich! Spicy Aloha Pizza (husband) - My husband enjoyed this! I am not sure if we just stopped in on an "off" night as my husband was really looking forward to stopping in at Black Fork Bistro based on other Yelp reviews (which made me feel really bad that my meal was so horrible), but hope that others are able to have a greater experience with the food here!

Service and food were amazing! We had a group of 8 for dinner on a Saturday night and everyone raved about every dish we ordered! Crab cakes and poutine were a hit, burgers were delicious, great drink options, pasta, etc. Highly recommend! Sad my phone had died and I got ZERO pictures to share.

Came into town with friends for the Haunted Schoolhouse. So we had to get some dinner before the scare..Lol. We waited about 15 minutes before being seated. The place was nice and clean. We both started with a pretzel. It was good and the cheese was a good add on choice. My friend ordered a Black Fork salad with chicken and said it was Delicious!! My hubby ordered the Rueben with fries and was very happy with his sandwich. He said the fries were a little cold and chewy. I ordered the Holy Moly pizza. It was a little greasy for my liking. It was all under the crust. It had a good flavor but I didn't taste any honey on it. And it wasn't spicy at all. My hubby tried a piece and he liked it. He said what I thought was grease on the bottom was honey but it wasn't sticky like honey. Who knows??And when we got our food we were so hungry I forgot to get pictures. Also they had cute murals on the outside for great photo ops. Maybe we need to go back and try again.

Staying in the area around Christmas 2023 and while exploring the town we stumbled on this place and glad we did. Such a great atmosphere and service. We started the butter board, came with warm crusty bread, marinara crock and herbed butter.....YUM! I chose the creole pasta with chicken and my husband had the turkey melt with bbq season fries. Both amazing and so much food. I wish I could have tried the holiday drinks because the bartender did such a good job. I did have the peppermint mocha cheesecake, another YUM.All the food in passing looked and smelled good too!

Always great food and service! The short ribs are amazing! Good fish and chips. Salmon is delicious as well.

Food was fantastic. Itialin sandwhich, clasdic burger, and fresh cut fries. All were great, and reasonably priced. People that worked there wete nice, and good service. I'd eat thete again for sure.
