Great selection of books, photos and of course Art. Whenever I walk by I just wanna stop in and browse through the isles of interesting pieces. The owner is very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and gives local artist and writers the opportunity to present their work. I'm glad this business has been able to maintain as a sustainable business throughout the years. Looking for decorative pieces or a great read, Black Art Plus is an interesting place to wonder.

Friendly and experienced service. The owner has been framing for 25+ years so I felt comfortable sending my paintings to him. I would reccomend for quality work as well as to support a black owned business.

I was looking for a museum and found this place. It's a bookstore that does framing and they sell paintings. I really enjoyed talking to the owner. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about history. I'd stop in just to talk with him each time I'm in town.

I bought a good amount of art here before I moved to Pittsburgh 2 years ago. And when I moved back to Columbus, I decided I needed to visit and see what was new. For some reason the shop is comforting to me. George and I always have pleasant conversations and he is very knowledgeable and welcoming. What he tells me about my art I share with guests at my house. Recently I bought some prints of William Johnson from the Cleveland Museum of Art. I needed them framed and was curious to see what George thought of my selections and taste. He affirmed that I had selected well and I was pleased by his cosign. If you want Africana books stop in. If you want African art stop in. If you want Africana related Harper's Weekly newspapers from the 1800s stop in. This for me is truly a black gem in Columbus .

This is a great place to get art framed. The owner is knowledgable and courteous, and the work is flawless. I got a couple of posters framed here in October 2008, and the work was great and reasonably priced.I recommend.

A unique gallery of many interesting pieces of art. Just like walking into Africa... Once you walk into this gallery there will be something that sticks with you after your visit. Many authentic pieces of art that are now hard to find in our area... Or if you wish to design your own framed art piece, here is the place to go. George is extremely talented in his work. He has the ability to take a beautiful print and turn it into a fabulous piece of art, for all to adorn ... Take a moment to step back in History by visiting Black Art Plus

Great place for art of all kinds - oils, prints, figures, framing, unique artifacts from Africa and even books. They have very interesting pieces of string art from Ghana which is not what you'd think of when you think string art. The craftsmanship is outstanding! And if you haven't seen work by Robert Miller, you must see it. What a talent. This shop is a must see all around.

I browsed through black arts one day because for as long as I known I always wanted to check it out. Tucked at the end of an strip of businesses next to an small apartment complex it has always appealed to me. After, walking in there was an older fellow who was working on frames and he greeted me with "how could I help you?" I responded with I'm just browsing so he left me alone and proceeded with what he was originally working on. He had art scattered everywhere of African Art. So rare to see an art gallery with so much interesting pieces and books hard to find elsewhere. I had a ton of questions and since I was the only one in there Dr. Miller took the time out to explain his gallery and his experience as an art gallery owner. He has quite the resume and such an great pleasure to speak with. I learn so much in an short time. After chatting and getting to know him a little he recommended some books that would spark my interest in history. Dr. Miller is self taught in frames that is the majority of his business making custom frames, his pieces are scattered because it makes it an joy to browse and find what you can with your own taste in art. Even if you don't have the best eyes to find art that suits you. I appreciate that you have to find pieces instead of having the best pieces displayed on the wall or featuring a certain artist. It was an different experience one could enjoy by browsing. I asked Dr. miller if he has ever had his gallery organized and he mentioned a long time ago. It just shows that the beauty of art is in the eyes of the beholder. Those who have patience and an good taste will find what they like. I somehow like that concept of shopping for art. I would recommend checking this place out even if your not into African Art. I thought it was unique and quite the experiencing learning about different pieces and the history behind it. It was such a calm experience he welcomed me back anytime I liked. And this gallery is such an compliment to Olde Town East. It gives this part of town so much character. If you appreciate art you will find joy in its being. An hidden gem and maybe an ignored place of exploration. All and all show Dr. Miller and Black Arts Plus some love and support local business. Peace and power to the people.
