Big Eye Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar

The best quality sushi I've had in Ohio to date. Our server David was excellent. I highly recommend and we will be back!

Freshly prepared Japanese and Thai food, reasonable prices, generous lunch for two under $25? Very glad we passed up our usual place and tried Big Eye. We have been disappointed by asian restaurants where the meats in curries taste like they were precooked, with the succulence of cardboard. This place had tender juicy chicken that was freshly cooked.

Really good sushi + selection at a decent price. Tempura just ok. Good service. Convenient location, easy to get in + out of.

We like to go out the day before Valentines Day to beat the rush. One of our favorite locations is Big Eye Japanese. Tonight we sat at the bar and told Chef Wade just bring it on. We normally order the LoveBoat which is $ 59.95. Tonight we had an experience I'll never forget. All the sushi/ sashimi and so much more! Including 2 flights of Sake. All for under $100...

This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in fairlawn area! I always come for the lunch specials which go from open until 3:30pm . It's such a good amount of food for the value! My 16 month old could not get enough of the miso soup . I did give it 4.5 stars because of the miso soup. It's not much to brag about! For a $2 soup can one truly complain? I enjoyed the freshness of everything. Teriyaki chicken had more of a savory taste which i loved. I don't have a sweet taste palette for proteins. Very quick service, polite host and server. I frequent this restaurant so i can say they have amazing quality control and the ability to reduplicate recipes and have them taste the same. I didn't get the sushi this time but if you do get something deep fried with cream cheese. You won't regret it!

We stopped in last night for a dinner at the Big Eye, and this was my first trip ever to this restaurant. Before we left, I looked at the menu and noticed it was mainly sushi... Which is something I really do not like. However, I was very excited to see that there were things on their menu for people like me that hate sushi!Prices were affordable and there was a nice variety of things on the menu. I ordered pineapple rice and it came out nice and hot and served inside of a half a pineapple. Before the entrées come a complimentary soup and salad. The soup is a miso soup which is the first time I've ever had that, and I have to say that miso soup is not something I will never order again anywhere.I am not going to hate on the restaurant for serving miso soup because it is authentic to their local cuisine and I appreciate the thought. We both decided that we will come back again someday.

My favorite sushi place in the area! Usually we get take out but I ate in with my sister last night and had a lovely experience. The service was perfect! Our server was kind and friendly and just the right amount of attentive. We stayed and talked well past our meal and didn't feel rushed or pressured to leave at all. The sushi was excellent as well! We got the Pretty Woman roll, the soybean veggie roll, a spicy tuna, and a tofu roll. All were great, especially the tofu roll (sweet tofu on top of an avocado/cucumber roll). Definitely we will be back! :)

Stopped in here based on reviews from Yelp. Started off with the spicy Kani salad (for 2) was very good and portion size was good for the price, got a couple rolls and a couple entrees, the rolls were delicious, and the tuna was definitely fresh! Husband was a little dissapointed with his seafood hot pot, there were about 4 pieces of shrimp and some thinly sliced fish? Looked like thin sliced radishes and that's it for the "seafood" portion of it. The broth was really good though. My daughter got the pineapple fried rice that had chicken and shrimp in it, it was plentiful and the taste was great! 10/10 would recommend. Our waitress was also the Carry out waitress and unfortunately didn't come back to our table after our meals got delivered so drinks sat empty, but I get it's Covid and would go back! The rolls are definitely more expensive than the other local sushi joints so be aware of that. Upwards of $13-$17 a roll for specials and $5-$7 for regular rolls. The nigiri was high priced as well.

Surprisingly reasonable pricing for the quality they lay down!Started with salmon hand rolls. Nice amount of fish, decent job rolling, a nice hand roll with really good salmon.Next up was my chirashi. It's one of my favorite orders because ordering it basically is an invitation to the chef to show off. Unfortunately, they didn't really do much showing off but they did present a good chirashi. Plenty of fish even if a little short on variety. No tamago or ebi (thank you!) to distract. I appreciated the little bit of seaweed salad as well.A solid choice for sushi in a part of America where sushi generally isn't what's for dinner.

Love this ambience! Perfect for a date night. Small cozy place with good sushi and consistently friendly staff. I live in the area and this place is a staple for me!
