My family has an extensive boardgames collection. We are also big Dungeons and Dragons fans. I love that they carry a wide variety of games and that when my kids see something interesting online we can find it at Beyond the Board. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend you visit and pick up a game you've never played, like Gloom which is a storytelling card game, or Concept which is a secret word game where you have a limited number of symbols to get people to guess, or better yet Mysterium which is sort of like Clue only there is a ghost giving you hints!

We drifted in today and took a look around. The guy behind the counter was super nice. There were some people playing at the tables, a wall of demo games to check out, and a good selection of stuff for sale. I will definitely return when I'm in the area again.

If you're looking for a FLGS (friendly local game store) with awesome selection, helpful/friendly staff, and reasonable prices, Beyond The Board is pretty much the only stop you need to make. There are always plenty of community gaming events scheduled, and the constant arrival of fresh new games and accessories will keep you coming back to see what's new. Unless I'm on a mission for something very specific and/or limited by time constraints, I usually end up wandering around the aisles of board and card games for at least an hour, marveling over things I swear I've never seen before and trying to decide what I need next....but wait, did I mention the best part? In the rear of the store, there is a wall absolutely FULL of games (probably at least 100-200) that you can demo before you decide on a purchase. See something for sale that piques your interest? They probably have it on the back wall, so go grab it, sit down with a friend or two, and give it a shot. Some nights (particularly weekends), events have most of the tables and seating filled up, so if you're looking to demo a game, you're probably better off going a little earlier in the day, or checking ahead of time to make sure there isn't a Magic or Pokemon tournament going on. They even sell snacks and drinks here (again, reasonably-priced) so you can get comfy and have some fun for a while.Don't know what to get? Talk to any of the associates. They're all super nice and have a wide range of experience with games, so they'll likely be able to point you in the right direction, and they haven't steered me wrong yet!

Amazing store- if you want a huge selection of tabletop games in a modern setting this is it. They have a good selection of games and trading cards and this is one of the cleanest and spacious gaming locations Columbus has to offer.

Feedback about the store:I bought Pompeii from Beyond the Board yesterday (6/3) and opened the box today. The card deck was missing, so we immediately went over and ask them to remedy the situation. They inform us it is our problem and we have to contact their vendor. I then ask for a refund and they tell me I can not get a refund because the box is out of the shrink wrap (you have to open the box to play the game and find out a piece is missing). They say we have a sign displaying our store policy. This sign is below their counter (no way you would even see the sign) and they offered zero assistance to fix the issue. I have bought from them before and absolutely appalled at the lack of customer service and will no longer buy from them.

I am so happy this store exists. It's a lot closer to us than the other gaming store downtown with a way more inviting environment. They have a really great selection and a very knowledgeable staff. The staff really make a point to get to know your name. Make sure if you're a new customer to ask about their stamp card. They have a lot of gaming related events there and they also have a collection of games for you to try out and play (or bring your own). I try to make it here as much as possible.

Great selection of games and an incredible open floor plan- absolutely wonderful for testing out games, running game nights, and even some private rooms- where we heard a DM absolutely killing it with his group. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even with us being out of town, he assured us that we could always hop in a game if we ever visited again. Good selection of RPG materials as well. We'll take his advice and definitely come back when we're in the area again!

my dnd group was bullied by this establishment to pay to play in their backroom WHICH IS ALWAYS EMPTY we spent HUNDREDS of dollars at this place and they kept badgering us to pay to use the room. WE WILL NEVER PLAY AT THIS PLACE AGAIN... they are almost always empty and their desperation to charge us for things they didnt have to has lost them hundreds of dollars in future sales... WAY TO GO DRIVING AWAY CUSTOMERS!
