Beck Tavern

One of the last bastions of true hold in the wall enjoyment. Good pricing, quick service, a nice place to watch a game. Plenty of screens where everyone can see. For a group the primo spot would be the window booth/table that has its own screen.

Wow, places like this still exist?This is a down-home dive bar stocked with a cast of blue collar regulars...in the middle of a bougie gentrified historic neighborhood? I'm not sure how it's allowed (probably grandfathered in from when this place used to be a "rough part of town") but, I LOVE IT!The bartender was maybe the best conversationalist I've ever experienced at a bar. He was genuinely interested in what I had to say and was instantly engaging. His name was Michael.The beer prices were CHEAP and they had a surprisingly decent selection of taps, much of it local.Michael knew everyone in the bar, but was still really welcoming to an out-of-town Alaska ruffian such as myself.

Great little dive bar in German Village. Cheap drinks with generous pours. No food but I did see dart boards. This is just a cool place to stop as I believe the bar is like 70 years old. Could be wrong. But hubby thought it was a cool spot and his bourbon pour was wow!!!

It's a very friendly German Village High end Dive bar, and I mean that in the most respectful way. It's clean, friendly, good selection, steel tip darts cool local upscale Nieghbor hood tavern. If you need a drink without any BullSht have a 2 Hearted draught and talk to your Nieghbor kind of place. My fav kind of place.

A very long time favorite but it's amazing how the indifference of a bartender can soil a long standing appreciation for a nice hole in the wall bar. A recent experience with the larger female bartender left me disappointed and rethinking my future visits to The Beck. Trying too hard to be a "Rough Chick" and dropping too many F-bombs amid her obvious disdain for those customers that weren't her favorites was obvious and distasteful. There's a lot of cheap beers in this town-most served with some appreciation and tastefulness. Lighten up sister. There's a lot of options in Columbus.

Beck Tavern is the darkest and dingiest of the dive bars in Columbus. It's so dark that you should think about bringing a flashlight. This place has not changed much over the years. It's gotten some new TVs but not much else. There's always a bunch of regulars who are having a good time. It of course is located on Beck. Not to be confused with High Beck Tavern, which is upscale compared to here. The inside is filled with old wood paneling. It's kind of hard to see anything. They keep it so dark inside. Maybe you don't want to see the inside better. The bar seems pretty clean though. It has some old musty smells but it's not horrible. This bar is right in the middle of German Village. It gives you a great idea about what to drink. Luckily they have those cool Jager machines. I love getting me some bombs. It's about $4.50 per bomb at happy hour. They also have many beers on tap. A popular activity is darts. They also have a fantastic jukebox. It kind of feels out of place where it's at. It's in a really good neighborhood. This is better than the renovated Sycamore which is now overpriced.

Traveling nurse from Indianapolis, this place has no food, it's old, and has a cramped little bath room. what it has is real people, great staff, plenty of seating, real brisle board dart boards and cheap drinks!!! I will miss this place and if any one gives it less than 5 stars! they do not appreciate a real drinking bar! all my favorite bars have little bathrooms!

best dive bar in downtown. on the weekend, everyone is in a great mood to be there. the bartenders are always super nice and generous pours. the prices can't be topped. love this place.

Jen and Mike are excellent bartenders and super friendly. The vibe there and TV set up is also outstanding. Love it!
