BayLobsters Cafe & Fish Market

I have been here several times, but not sure why I've never left a review. It's one of my favorite places to pick up fresh seafood, and take home to cook. They also have a small dining area off the side. What's great as you pick out your seafood, and they cook it and serve it for you. It doesn't get much better than that. Service was really good and you're well taken care of. Definitely give them a try if you're in town. You will not be disappointed.

Fun experience, okay foodTook my son for a trip here when we are in the area. He enjoyed walking around the store checking everything out while we waited for the food. This is a fish market that also serves food. You walk in and there are two cases of fresh fish and other items. There is a wall of frozen seafood and then another fridge of drinks and premade food like clam chowder, lobster Mac, etc. Since it was our first time here we weren't sure what to get. They have a pretty big selection of fish to choose from. We decided to go with a variety. Clam chowder was okay, was not very creamy. Lobster Mac n cheese had very tiny pieces of lobster. Perch meal - perch was well fried other sides were just okay. After hearing so much about this place I was a little disappointed by the food. I would recommend just buying fish from the market and preparing at home. They do have a small indoor seating area that they deliver your food too. You clean up after yourself.

Absolutely amazing! For dinner last night I had two of their crab cakes and a bowl of lobster bisque. Having had a lot of crab cakes and lobster bisque in my life I feel qualified in saying that this was the best I think I've had. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven't yet.

Hands down the best seafood in Wooster. Is it Boston or any other coastal town worthy? Well, no. But, for where you are geographically it's really, really good. They treat seafood properly here. The preparation of the fish, from the cuts to the cooking are dead on. The fried foods are crisp while keeping the fish light and flaky without saturating the entire thing in grease and oil. The essence of each dish is the fish. I have yet to try anything on the dinner menu that isn't fantastic. BayLobsters is perfect for seafood lovers any time of the day. Expect prompt, courteous service.

With a nice day for a ride I hopped on the motorcycle and headed to Wooster to check out the fish at BayLobsters Cafe. Located on the North side of Wooster in a strip of shops BayLobsters is a fish market and takeout shop with some small tables out front. Inside are two display cases with fish and seafood, a counter to order prepared food and a freezer case. To give me a variety I got the sampler platter which is a fish fillet, 3 shrimp, 4 oysters and 2 sides, all fried. The fried shrimp were the stars of the platter, large plump and meaty shrimp are nicely battered and fried and so satisfying. The oysters were good, with the taste of the ocean encased in the batter. The fish was disappointing, a bit fishy and the batter seemed overcooked to me. The onion rings and fried mushrooms were just OK, nothing special. Overall I was hoping for more, the portion was fine, it just that the quality was not consistent. I would strongly suggest getting the fried shrimp, but stay away from the fried fish.

I purchased wonderful Chilean Sea Bass here and made it with mango salsa. Friendly and professional service too!!!

So glad we found this place. Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back!

When I want to eat a delicious, healthy seafood meal, there is none better in Wooster than Bay Lobsters Cafe & Fish Market. On Cleveland Rd. and Milltown Rd, it's convenient and the owners/staff are super friendly and so helpful. My favorite is their Scottish salmon, grilled with their special house seasonings. I highly recommend this great little cafe. They have great food and a big heart. . Vicki M.

Took a day trip to Wooster to visit The Secrest Arboretum, and after all that walking in nature, we had to stop somewhere for lunch. My mother-in-law loves fish and chips, so I searched and found this cute little fish market and cafe. The two gentlemen that were working there were so nice and knowledgeable of all the fish sold there, and it is very fresh! I chose the sampler, which had cod, shrimp, and oysters, fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. My hubby and mother-in-law had the fish and chips, which also included coleslaw and hushpuppies. We also ordered a cup of lobster bisque and clam chowda. We had the option of choosing any of the fish in the cases, fried or grilled, and we opted for the cod, panko breaded, and fried. Everything was delicious! Not greasy, very crisp! The prices were surprisingly inexpensive too! We all left full, to say the least! This will definitely be a repeat stop on any trip to Northern Ohio.
