I always go there for two things you CANNOT get anywhere else and that's their fresh meat case! The other is homemade potato salad and I am serious. Yes I make delicious potato salad but who wants to do all that work when you can get exactly the same dish. They also make pies yummy cherry or apple. When you first enter it's like an old fashioned grocery store and I love it!! Pick up your buns or bread as soon as you arrive because it's all in front. Service is amazing and Bob Bays have their own meat packing facility off Route 188. Ambiance is like stepping back in time when your mom went to a small version of "Big Bear" grocery store. Don't be in a rush because you will enjoy the experience!!

Bays food market has always been wonderful. Good prices and quality meats. The staff can be a little off putting for new customers who don't really know what they are looking for in a cut of meat. I went in for a few steaks and got the names of the cuts mixed up and one of the guys behind the counter looked at me like i was from outer space. Other than that ive never really had an issue

Great meat in an old time butcher shop. They cut all their meats in house and if you want something that's not in the case they are happy to cut it for you. The meat is super fresh. It's not a polished meat counter just a good old style butcher shop. Keep it local Ohio!!#ThankYouThursday

Everyone kept telling me to go to Bay Food Market for the best steak. Well, I decided to go and pick up two t-bones for our New Year's Day tradition. I walked up to the counter and asked if they had t-bones or porterhouse steaks available. The gentleman behind the counter just made a gesture toward some meat. They were labeled t-bones, but definitely looked like porterhouses. Ok no big deal. I told him I wanted two steaks of roughly the same size. He pulled out four or five. He never asked me which ones I wanted, never even showed me which steaks he had chosen. I was a little wary, but hey--they're the experts. I get home and one steak is so grey it is practically black. Figuring they wouldn't give me bad meat since it was a butcher (I know meat turns dark na, we threw it on the grill. The smell was horrendous! My husband was brave enough to taste it, and said it was terrible. The other steak was actually fantastic--melt in your mouth good. We split that one. I can only assume that since I'm not a regular customer the guy slipped me meat that should have been thrown away. I won't be going back. It's a waste of money.

This place is a throwback to a time when you went multiple, local places to get what you needed; the butcher, the baker, the green grocer. I am very glad is has survived the changing shopping habits and still provides one on one special service. Bay Food Market is the go to place for the freshest meats, cut to order. The steaks are out of this world in flavor and tenderness and still cheaper than a grocery chain. They also have great pre-made burgers, bacon, sausage and just about anything else you would want. The rest of the store is a small grocer; probably not going to find everything here, but they so a good job of stocking a good variety. In the growing season, they have a good selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables. If you are in the area and getting ready to cook, you owe it to yourself to come here first. They are a locavore or foodies dream, and not because it is a new trend, but because they have always done it that way.

Excellent fresh meat daily. Cheese and meat trays are also an excellent value. Great selection of prepared foods such as Beef Bar-B-Q, ham, potato, & egg salads. Produce is fresh in-season.

I love their meats and cheeses, but their staff leaves room for improvement. Especially the owner.
