Barley Hopsters

Patroned with some friends, who are regulars, for their Saturday night trivia. SUPER fun that you get to pick individual beers from the large selection in their coolers and drink them at the table! Trivia was fun. The night we visited it was all based on song titles. We all wished it would have been structured a tad differently, maybe instead of having to just guess the song title maybe switch it up with some guessing, some multiple choice and maybe other ways of playing. The downside to the song title trivia was that it seemed like most of the songs were older, which my group is not that familiar with. I would suggest switching up the song erras as well. Anywho, the establishment itself had great selection of beer, which was super fun to get to pick your own from the cooler, pay and then walk it right over to your table. FYI - 6 packs will be charged an extra $10 if you want to drink it at your table... bummer. Might as well just pick out of the cooler if that's the case. One of our friends found this out the hard way. Even though I would suggest some tweaks, this is a cool little spot!

Great little place for the beer enthusiast! You can buy beer making supplies of buy beer from a nice selection that they have. They have limited seating inside and a little patio area in the front. The inside has an old general store feel to it.

Barley Hopsters might be the coolest thing in this city. It's certainly the best beer selection. The store is also a bar so you can drink there. It has lots on tap including some local breweries. The coolers have lots of single serving bottles or cans. If you're expecting some small town carryout, that isn't what this is. It has the usual stuff along with many crafts. The draft list has something like 50 different ones. A lot of them are national brands but not all. There's a few local breweries like Platform. If you can't find anything to your liking among the drafts you can get something from the coolers. There's tons of individual bottles or cans and many you've never heard of. I will make sure the next time in Delaware to get something from Barley Hopsters. It's better than you would expect from something in kind of a backwards town like it. The price is pretty good and it can't be beat with its selection.

There's tvs inside to catch the game and a large selection of pinball machines, too! Definitely a great way to enjoy downtown Delaware!

Such a wide range of beers and so helpful! We were looking for a trappistes beer from the Netherlands but alas they were out. We did then try one from Rochefort Belgium which is really good also! We also bought our first growler with rhinegist saber tooth tiger. A really good beer brewed in Cincinnati but only made once a year. Very nice atmosphere and very helpful employee! Great experience!!

Unassuming, friendly, fun, wide variety of drink choices, games, clean bathrooms. Go there!

A wide variety of wine, beer and nice people. You can also purchase beer and wine making supplies.

Staff is not helpful. After being charged to drink on the premises and tipping for a glass, the bartender didn't even offer to pour the beer. He just opened the bottle for me and the barm started foaming out. I was left with half beer, half barm, and a mess I had to clean after trying to pour it myself.
