Came to give it a try at noon on a Wednesday and it was locked up tight. Even the mailman was complaining. Not sure if the business is closed or open.

ATTENTION! Cash or Venmo only.The area around mt. Vernon ave is changing rapidly. Change is enviable and vital to the local economy in the surrounding east side area. This restaurant has weathered many storms but yet, Ms Amina sees it through. The food is commensurate to the area: getting better, as time moves along. Further more, people complain about waiting on their food order, yet will wait 2-3 hours or more to see a Doctor, and will not gripe about it. People shouldn't be so flippant to anyone whose preparing food. AWESOME FOOD!SEE IT THROUGH!

In my neighborhood, there are many local kitchens that have been around for years. Specifically, Amina's Fish has been a staple in the Mount Vernon area.I ordered the catfish dinner (Mac & Cheese and Cabbage/Greens Mix), hush puppies, and fried okra. The food was amazing! I had a pleasure of supporting a local business that has done amazing during COVID-19.

Let me start by saying she has been the last standing black owned restaurant on the east side of town for the last decade I love my Amina she has the best fish subs and dinners you'll ever eat I never had a problem with my food even when I was late picking it up she had it store or gave me fresh food because I was behind on my pick up time in it was hot crispy and the greens mix was dyelicious yes that's a word there to die for I love this lady she gives you your money's worth and her food is on point to be so cheap so anytime I want fish I call up my lady and lord knows then I'm smiling from ear to ear because she BLESSED me with her love of cooking

Amina's is a staple on the Near East Side, her food is always consistently good! Make sure to try any of the fish dinners, with your choice of sides. My favorites include the collards and mac n cheese. Make sure to get your order in earlier than the scheduled closing time as they do tend to close early.

Great food but the wait is long as hell!!!Don't go without calling your order in! Oh and don't go on your lunch especially if you only have 30 minutes !

Good food by great people. Super nice and one of the best fried perch sandwiches in the city. Good price always hot and tasty. A place more people should try.

Tried to support a fellow black business and received terrible customer service. Not only was I not greeted or acknowledged for 20+ minutes, when I finally was addressed and implied it will be an order for multiple people (3 btw ) the lady working said something to the extent of " I'm not fixing all those mf plates" ) ..wish I was joking. There is a way to be professional and that was not it. Very rude will not be returning,give your money to another small business.

I watched as the young man helping his grandmother in there get cussed out also she got very annoyed because I didn't have money for a tip on a carry out order. I thought her keep talking to the other employee about me not having tip money was degrading, I will never go back

Food nasty ,everything taste like fish plus the person takes the order has a bad nasty attitude....
