Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Albany Woods and would recommend it to anyone. First, the apartments are big. You get a lot of square feet for what you pay. It's a good rate compared to other New Albany apartments.I liked being within biking distance of the library, churches and the Kroger grocery store. The pool is very nice and often used by the residents. It closes in the winter and opened Memorial Day weekend. There was always plenty of parking for myself and guests. It was never an issue. The walking trail around the property is something that really sets Albany Woods apart. It's great for walking and jogging at any time of day. There is also a nice dog park and community garden. The dumpster was near my apartment so taking out the trash wasn't a big deal. If you're ever looking for free crappy furniture, that's the place to go. There were always couches, TV stands, mattresses and other random old furniture there. They also have a 24hr fitness center connected to the leasing office. It has two TVs, an elliptical, weight machine and two treadmills. It's hardly ever used so it's a nice workout room.I had soft fluffy carpet (while a weird color, it hid stains nicely) that I liked. I also had nice stainless steel appliances. The leasing staff was always very friendly. They would answer my questions and be happy to grab packages that were held for me. In the leasing office, there is free Starbucks coffee, movie rentals, book rentals, newspapers, magazines, printers and computers. Best of all, they often had popcorn and freshly baked cookies. It's a great leasing office!I often felt that the grounds were very quiet, like a nursing home almost. I always felt safe, especially with the gate. Even for living relatively near the highway, the noise was not an issue. I was worried it would be an issue but it never bothered me.Maintenance requests can be made online and are responded to in a timely fashion. The men are very friendly and leave a note inside when they've completed the request. I never had any major maintenance requests that weren't properly handled. Maintenance was very good about salting and plowing during the winter. They did their best. The only reason I'm moving is because of the location. I want to be closer to downtown Columbus and right now it's a 15-20 minute drive with no traffic. They do have an online rent payment system but it doesn't seem to take the money out on time and so I've heard horror stories about people being charged late fees when they use the system. In regards to other complaints: yes, there was flooding around the grounds but it was just after a big rain storm came through. The gates did stay open in the cold weather to prevent the gates from freezing, so it was for a justified reason. I never saw a lot of dog poop in the grass, like previous people have complained about. Someone mentioned garages are rented out for storage to people who don't live there. From what I observed, that is correct. But, I never wanted to pay the $80 a month for a garage anyway so it was fine. The stairs were fine in my opinion and like I said, noise wasn't an issue. If you're considering moving to Albany Woods, I'd say go for it! You won't be disappointed.

Albany Woods is awesome! Let me just say that right up front. They have apartments as well as town homes, the amenities are great (walking path, dog park, community garden, pool, clubhouse with free movie rentals). I never knew how much I would miss the walking path until I moved out as it is super convenient and pretty to just walk around the complex to take the dog for a walk. The apartments were clean and management was super friendly every time I had a question or needed to stop in for something. The landscaping is nice, trash is kept in one spot and is a trash compactor so helps to keep that to a minimum. On Saturdays during the summer they have hot dogs and usually slushies of some kind while you are hanging at the pool and have at least one event per month whether it's watching a Buckeye game, poolside movie night, etc. They really care about and take care of their residents and I absolutely LOVED living there. My only reason for moving was that my office moved to the west side of town so I wanted to be closer to the office, otherwise I would have absolutely stayed here! I wish I could have picked up Albany Woods and dropped it on the west side of Columbus because it was awesome! Highly recommend living here if you are looking for a place to live. The prices are very reasonable as well!

A beautiful apartment with options in size and style. The landscaping here is gorgeous and each season reflects the time of year. My daughter lived her and I visited often. I loved taking her dog down to the dog park in the back of the property. Jasper could be off his leash and run free! They have a walking trail too that was so pretty in the fall when the leaves were coming down. I highly recommend this apartment to those looking in the area. The only thing my daughter didn't like was not having a garage attached to her apartment. She was able to rent one right in front of the apartment so that wasn't a deal breaker for her.

I am so incredibly sad to be leaving this complex. My boyfriend and I have lived here for two years and it crushes me to leave but we have decided to buy a home. For starters, the community is very quiet and the surrounding neighbors are lovely and respectable. The landscaping is ALWAYS clean, updated and tidy. Compared to other complexes I have seen, this one takes the cake on cleanliness. I really appreciate their efforts in keeping a clean atmosphere especially when many residents have dogs-- you would never even know. There is a lovely 1 mile path with lovely scenery and peacefulness. The pool is always clean as well but is a bit outdated for my liking. I CANNOT RAVE ABOUT THE MAINTENANCE and ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF ENOUGH!!! The maintenance men are absolutely AMAZING! Unfortunately when we first moved in, we had a lot of appliance issues (Ice machine stopped working, thermostat came off the wall, dryer broke, water heater leaked, dryer broke for a second time!) but every single time I called, the maintenance man was there in a matter of a few hours. Absolutely fantastic people and their service needs to be commended. If I called about something, the ladies in the office would return my calls almost immediately and find a solution. The landscapers in the summertime are never a disturbance or bother which I appreciate. I have lived in places where they come super early and run loud equipment and it can be quite obnoxious but I never experienced that with Albany Woods. The rent is one of the cheapest rents I've found in new albany and I'm surprised at its low rate for what great surface they provide. We lived on a ground level right near the club house, pool, and trash which was super convenient. We had hardwood floors and the updated kitchen countertop. I would recommend this complex to anyone who asked! I'm sad to go and I will miss all the lovely people!

I'd give this a 2 because my grandmother currently is a resident in this apartment complex and has had some weird interactions with her neighbors and staff at the office. She moved in in may of 2020 and had no problems until about summer of 2020 and her neighbors upstairs, something exploded and leaked into her ceiling. They came to paint the ceiling and now when i'm writing this is definitely not the same color as the normal ceilings color. The other interaction could have been somewhat dangerous for my grandmother and it was apparently at 12 AM her neighbor that lives directly across from her knocked on her door multiple times and started banging the door. My grandmother went to open the door to find out that this lady was "stark naked" which means completely naked and was asking her a whole bunch of questions and wanted to enter my grandmothers apartment. We now realized and have found out that this neighbor has a serious drinking issue and the police and ambulance have been to her apartment multiple times disturbing neighbors. If you really want peace and quiet this complex is not for you...

I have to agree with the previous review. This place is HORRIBLE! The property itself is fine and the neighborhood is very nice, but the management is the worst that I have ever experienced! They do not know what they are doing and their customer service is non-existent. Stay away as they will do nothing but create headaches! There are many other communities nearby that actually appreciate the renters in their complexes.

Horrible, horrible customer service. Horrible communication throughout their company. We have a maintenance issue in our apartment and Albany Woods has known about it for over a month & it's still not fixed. We have to keep following up with them because they wouldn't communicate to us what was going on. It's absolutely ridiculous with how disappointed I am in the customer service I've received. We can't wait until our lease is up.

This is not a place for international student. I did the whole application process, and they tell me to pay all 12 months rent ahead when I move in. I have a excellent credit and a saving account enough to cover at least 3 times the rental amount for the duration of my lease agreement. And yes, I don't have a job because international student not suppose to work. They are not going to refund my $99 application and holding fee, too. They also try to convince me that it is normal to pay 12 months rent ahead for international students. I came to America since 2007 and have lived several apartments and none of them ask me to pay all the rent ahead. So, right after I said no to them, I called another apartment, and guess what, the other apartment told me they will never ask me to pay all my rent ahead when I move in, and after they did the whole application process , they told me I don't even need pay any security deposit because my good credit. So, if you are a international student, don't waste $99 on this apartment.

I have had the worst experience with this staff. They are rude and will routinely walk past guests without speaking to them. The women are nicer then the male staff. I would gladly move to a more friendly staffed apt.
