a red brick building with green awnings
This "crown on the rocks" was an absolute joke.
Presentation 5/10, flavor 2/10. Sad because it sounded so tasty but definitely was not.
the inside of a casino
a double eagle sign on a brick building
Cold stew for two
The steak was not good at all. Rubbery and tasteless. No amount of topping could have saved it. The potato was delicious though.

Walked in at 5 on a Saturday and were seated relatively quickly. Waited for a server for 15minutes and watched multiple parties be sat and greeted before I finally had to go ask a hostess for someone to help us. My husband asked what scotches and whiskeys they had (there was no menu listing) and the waiter replied "Well, pretty much everything. What do you want?". My husband then says Maker's Mark and our waiter says "Uhhh that one doesn't sound familiar, but I'm not a drinker so I'm not sure. What else would you prefer?". The whole conversation just was not really helpful on the waiter's behalf at all. My husband ended up gettin a crown on the rocks and the drink he brought to the table was the tiniest pour I have ever seen in a restaurant. I later realized that there was no bartender behind the bar at all and that the wait staff was pouring their drinks with no sense or measurement tools in sight. That would explain the sad pour. We ordered the "stew for two" and the Caesar salad both of which were very good. Unfortunately, the ribeye fell short and the seafood Champaign pasta was flavorless. Having worked at a fine dining steakhouse for 3 years, both the service and food proved disappointing. The only reason I am giving 3 starts instead of 2 is that our meal was comped from our food credits. We will not be returning sadly.

We went back here during the most recent ice festival. The original review is below. Pretty much how I remember the last time. However have to say that the fillet mignon Oscar and the strip steak with blue cheese we're pretty good. One thing that hasn't changed is though you're ordering a high $30 meal but you get plastic ramekins. Just doesn't seem to make sense :-). The waitress was absolutely sweet and attentive.Original review Big group of friends last night at Winfields. Not the best steak house nor the worst. Most of our party seemed happy with the food and service. I dropped one star primarily based on two areas. One being the young waitress was not very versed on the menu details and cocktail selection & the other was all of the baked potato fixings and butter where served in cheap, disposable plastic ramekins that you would find in a McDonalds not a high end steak house.

Server was rude returned my undercooked ribeye To be cooked longer. appeared as if he just let it sit and brought it back to the table. Asked for him to take it back and remove it from our bill, he did. My bill was 65.81 after he removed my meal. Checked my credit card account and he charged my account 78.97 .I asked him to speak to the manager and he told me he was the manager we left I will never be back and I will never recommend this place to anyone Crooks!

Excellent, Jacob was great barkeep and server. Lamb T bone was outstanding and highly recommended. Shrimp and scallops pasta was very but not as highly recommended. Prices are reasonable for food and wine, floor/table staff were maybe a bit challenged perhaps by someone calling in sick.

My wife and I stayed at the Double Eagle, and we made reservations, not really necessary. We both had the surf and turf, which included filet mignon and lobster. Best steak I had in a long time. Host and staff very courteous. Highly recommend this place

Horrible food. All came out cold, management would not fix or address the issues. Drink menu drinks had half the ingredients missing. Literally worst excuse for a steakhouse i have ever seen. Do us all a favor and shut this dump down.

Better than expected on initially walking in. Made a joke that we were rolling the dice with the restaurant and not the casino. Service was really slow and they were NOT busy. The kind of not busy that makes you wonder if you should turn and run. The food came out pretty quickly so it wasn't the kitchen but there very well may have only been one waitress, who was just kind of uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the price but not as bad as I would have guessed when we walked in.

The waiter, a 40-50ish gentlemen, was excellent. One of the best waiters I've had. The salmon was a little dry but decent. Nothing great. The host was nice but their policy in seating sucked. I was sat directly against an ugly wall with screw holes that seemed to once hold a TV. I asked for a better seat in a row of seats that were completely empty. They refused. I said that's fine. And then a manager came out and asked the host, right in front of me, if "this is the seat he's not supposed to be in? Everything figured out?" Basically I felt very unwelcome. Then 10min later they seat someone else in the same seat I asked for. Change your lame seating policy.

I was totally disappointed in this dining experience. My steak was possibly one of the poorest excuses for a ribeye, ever. Even the attempt to cover it up with over-garlicky mushrooms couldn't make it better. I will not return unless this is the only place to eat in Cripple Creek and I am starving.

Food was way over priced, my filet mignon was very small for the price but was good and tender, service was mediocre, had to ask the waitress several times for sugar for my iced tea. My biggest complaint is I have never been to a steak house that didn't offer soup or salad with a high end entree, well you won't get one here, the best part of the meal was the hot bread they bring you, my advice is for the money go to the steak house in Bronco Billy's, they both require a reservation.
