Save yourself the grief and skip these people if you have something special or important to you that you need this type of service. Other Colorado monument companies won't talk to me because they say Wilhelm is the closest. I've called and written to Wilhelm probably 50 times for about a year and each time I couldn't even get a conversation started. They seem like they're probably nice people but the wife always comes off as confused and disinterested and says call back later and the husband was polite when I was able to talk to him but he never would do anything to get me a price for a monument I wanted done. I'm still looking and now have to explain to everyone why I can't use Wilhelm. I'm actually glad to find out now how they are rather than later when there's money and promises on the table.

I visited Colorado Springs last fall and found out my grandpa's death date wasn't engraved on his headstone. He was buried in 2006. I called my aunt and she said the engraving had been ordered and paid for at that time through Wilhelm Monument. They had no record of the order so I paid for and ordered the engraving. I was told I would be sent a photo when it was finished in February. I heard nothing, so I called in April to check the status. They had completely lost my order. They said it will get done in a couple of months. I'm wondering if my aunt's initial order was actually paid for and lost as well.

It's been over 2 YEARS and they still haven't finished my moms headstone. 2 YEARS!!!! They never call or update us. Anytime we do call, they say they are about to go to an appointment or that they will call or email us back but they never do. They are despicable. How would you feel if you ordered a headstone for your loved one and you were never able to put it on their grave because the company that you put your trust in to finish it NEVER finished it?! I hate going to see my moms grave and it's not complete. My mom deserves a headstone and they don't care to finish things in a timely manner. 2 years and still nothing. Really? There is NO excuse for that and They always have an excuse. I can't stand it anymore. I'm so hurt by this. We all are. We paid over $4,000 and still nothing 2 years later. I can't handle the disrespect and laziness of this company. I will be taking extreme measures and getting them shut down if they don't fix the problem.

I have used Wilhelm and it takes awhile to get your tombstone placed but they did exactly what they said they were going to do . A reputable company. Mr. Wilhelm was awesome. I'm old school and so is the company.

I will never go back to this business. In early January, 2023, I ordered a tombstone from Wilhelm after the death of our mother. We had a picture of our grandparents stone and my dad wanted something similar. Dick told us that Covid had created a huge delay and told us it would take about 4-5 months to get the stone. I gave him the photo and a 50% down payment and a few weeks later received a proof of the stone. I replied that it looked fine and we were good to proceed. I then sat and waited about 5 months. After no contact after 5 months, I reached out in person for an update. Dick said still no granite delivery. Another month went by - another in person visit - still no delivery. Fast forward to September, 2023. My sister and I were still making regular in person visits and were feeling desperate. My sister called Wilhelm and spoke with Judy. Judy said to give her about 15 minutes and she would call her back with information. After waiting the whole day, my sister called again. Judy denied ever saying she would call back in 15 minutes and said they were still waiting on the granite. At this point, my sister said she wanted to just cancel the order, wanted a refund and said we would go elsewhere. Judy refused, saying since a proof was prepared that we weren't entitled to a refund. As if this wasn't bad enough, she was unbelievably rude and nasty. Keep in mind, this wasn't an original proof they prepared. It mirrored the photo of my grandparents stone except the names and DOB/DOD and in no way was worth $1,000.00. After waiting a couple more weeks, we went to see Dick in person who told us the granite had come in, the stone was done and placed at my mom's grave. We were so relieved, I wasn't even upset that they hadn't called us. I went back the next week and paid the remaining balance in full. A couple of weeks later we received a bill for the amount I had already paid. Luckily, I had a receipt showing I'd paid. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the additional grief and go elsewhere. Dick was always nice but not terribly helpful. Judy, on the other hand, stunningly rude and mean.

They mess up headstones and refuse to fix it. They also are horrible at customer service. If you want you to be treated like shit after your loved one passes, this might be the place for you.

We've been trying to get one headstone for six cremains in a single plot done since April 2021. We've been in the office to talk to Judy and Dick three times. We paid our down payment and they had to order the stone from overseas, which took several months. Okay, we understand quarry and shipping issues. Meanwhile, Dick was supposed to be working on design layouts for us to review. We emailed the names, the DOB/DOD and jpgs of small designs. Waited. Called. Judy didn't remember who we were. Dick didn't either. He'd lost the order, his notes, our layout, and so did Judy. We emailed everything again. Waited. Called. They had no idea who we were. Again, Dick and Judy lost everything. Tried again, same result. We PRINTED all our emails and their replies out, brought them right to the office, same thing. They lost them again! It got to the point I'd start crying even thinking about calling Wilhlem.It's been over 2 years now. We have not received ONE design to review. The marker was to arrive last November, 2022. We haven't heard one peep from Wilhelm and it's now June 2023. Yesterday I called, Judy had no idea who I was. I asked if the marker was in, she didn't know, had to check, then said yes it's here. Well why didn't you call us? "Because we don't babysit our customers." (what??) Where is the marker now? "Dick is working on it at home." Dick took this 500 lb marker to your HOUSE? Well no, he's working on the design. I said last fall, he said he'd lost our file and was looking for it. Did he find it? "I don't know." I blew my top and said, I want you to email me a copy of our order and paid invoice. So far, I've received nothing. Then I added, I want you to move the marker over to Rocky Mountain Memorials next door so they can do the engraving and place the stone. Judy flat out refused. "NO. I will NEVER do that. We HATE those people, they do *s-h-i-t-y work, they steal stones from us!" (*Judy's spelling, not mine.) Blah blah blah, for about 5 minutes. Talk about unprofessional! I said, this is our property, and you're refusing to let us have it? Let's see what law enforcement has to say about that, shall we? Maybe tv and radio stations too. She scoffed. "Go ahead. The cops won't do anything."Judy abruptly shifted into apology mode, said we've treated you horribly, we'll have the marker engraved by the end of this month, promise. --Really? We haven't even reviewed a single design yet. And why would I believe you once again? the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Today Judy called again. She insulted me, she repeatedly called me a liar. Trying to keep my cool, I asked what we owed them for the marker itself, and asked how we could move it to Rocky Mountain Memorials right across the parking lot? She snapped, "We'll put your marker in the alley, and I hope a truck hits it." I was stunned. Are you threatening me? "Yes, I am." Wilhelm may be the best -- or were once -- but now I'm scared of them on top of everything else. Avoid this company. Buying a headstone for loved ones should never be this this nightmarish.

Wilhelm's was amazing in every way. This was a very difficult time for me and I had never ordered a headstone before. Judy and Dick made ordering and designing the headstone so easy. They knew the cemetery and what was allowed and would fit based on the plot we purchased. Judy was fantastic at helping us pick a headstone. Dick was so knowledgable and helpful designing the stone and made a great recommendation to include linked wedding rings and their wedding date. Final stone is beautiful.
